To be honest I've never rated Hulk, so he was probably always going to be in my team. He could be replaced with Jo or any of the Portugal centre-forwards.

Luiz? His name was floating in the best 11 thread before the semi final. Can understand if doesn't get into the best 11 after that but worst 11? Really?

That's not a bad worst XI. Glad you picked Baines because I've always held that he is very limited defensively. Glad we didn't sign him when Moyes was trying his best to get him. It's too bad about Casillas. One of the world's best at one time. It's always sad to see such a fine goalkeeper go on the decline like that.

------------------------------------Casillas

Maicon - Azpilicueta - Dante - Pique - Pepe - Luiz - Ramos - Marcelo - Alba

-------------------------------------Fred

Why are people picking Alves? He never lost a match. Maicon played the loser games.

According to Castrol ranking (which I think is a bit shit), excluding players that didn't start a match or played a whole match:

------------------Hart

Vanden Borre
- Pique - Dante - Bedimo

-------------Claros----Amorim

-----Pedro-------Taider-------Soudani

-------------------Jo

My real team:

---------------Casillas

Azpilicueta - Pique - Luiz - Alba

----------Gerrard----Xavi

Hulk-----Agüero-----Fred-----Jo

Brazilian players are getting disproportionate criticism I think. They were bad but in latter stages it's a game of fine margins and the faults are magnified. Atleast Luiz was good in the group stages and round of 16. Anyway that's just how I feel might be in the wrong.

Overall I thought these player were horrendous and most of them were the leading faces of teams that faced early exits.

What you guys are talking about is not a worst team but a most disappointing team. When it really comes to the worst team, then we would have a couple of South Korea, Japan, Camaroon and Russian players in there.

----------- Akinfeev -----------
Maicon - Pepe - Luiz - Baines
Hazard - Song - Gerrard - Hulk
------ Fred - Diego Costa ------

HM to: Casillas, Marcelo, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Ramos, Pique, Ronaldo, Alves

Not the worst, probably (apart from Akinfeev and Gerrard), but the players that played under the expected level.

Don't get the Assou-Ekotto mentions, sure Cameroon were crap and he had a scuffle with a teammate but I watched all of their games and individually he was pretty good. Spurs bias! Spurs bias! I hear you say, well to balance that out I'll say Paulinho was garbage and is pretty woeful in general so it wasn't surprising.

They both played far under their standards.
maybe so but that doesn't mean they haven't been worse players in their positions. Hulk for instance should be getting in the XI before anybody let alone Ronaldo.

Yep, most disappointing team would be better, also singles out the superstars or players with big reputations going into this World Cup who flopped:

Code:
Casillas
Pepe - T.Silva - Luiz
Alves -------Toure--------Baines
Hazard - Oscar - C.Ronaldo
Suarez

What a fecking joke. They just shown the best players from this WC according to the FIFA. David Luiz is chosen as one of the best defender during this WC.

These lot have been pointless.
I think Casillas was a lot worse than Akinfeev. I also don't think Johnson was that bad this tournament.

You're probably right. But he's total shite usually and he plays for Liverpool, so I put him in (and because I couldn't think of anyone else).

Also, Akinfeev fumbled everything in his first game. One of the worst displays I have seen from a keeper.

I thought about putting Akinfeev. His mistakes were more costly. He fumbled the ball quite a bit and didn't make up for it.
