If we ever end up handing over the full £68m for Bruno, then I will gladly eat my words. I won't hold my breath though.£68m for Bruno

Poch fancied Bruno too apparently...So now it looks like Fernandes is back on does that mean it's Ole forever?
(not a srs question)
Ahh so this was schrodingers window. Both buying and not buying confirms that ole isn't being backed.Poch fancied Bruno too apparently...
whow much would that cost the board though? Sack a manager then pay for a new one after saying Sancho is too expensiveSorry to bump an old thread but this feels relevant to me. Am I the only one that suspects that this same thing is happening now? Obviously switch January to summer transfer window. Ole isn’t getting backed. Poch is still sitting tight. Could be just me though.
Ole got what, a year and a half left? Feel like if things don’t go to plan they’ll pull the plug very quickly.whow much would that cost the board though? Sack a manager then pay for a new one after saying Sancho is too expensive
Just feels like that's where we are heading, we are on repeat cycle, again..!Ole got what, a year and a half left? Feel like if things don’t go to plan they’ll pull the plug very quickly.
Pure speculation of course as was the op but can’t help but get that feeling again.
Because it's what we did to Mourinho? Woodward has a track record of losing faith in managers but waiting for encouragement from the media and fanbase before pulling the trigger. Why would we actively undermine a current manager in order to pave the way for a replacement, when we could just fire that manager now
Difference is Jose`s sacking was coming especially after how toxic things got after losing to Sevilla and his whining during pre season Ole has never kicked up a fuss and has not had a toxic moment like Jose vs Sevilla so I genuinely fail to see why he`d just throw him under the bus outta nowhere. He`s just incompetent as hellBecause it's what we did to Mourinho? It's all hypothetical of course but Ole still has a lot of support from the fans. If they sack him now the pitchforks would be out for Ed and co if Poch (new manager) didn't succeed straight away. This might be the silliest thread on CAF, which is quite an accomplishment. No need to engineer the failure of a manager just to bring in his replacement. If the club wants Ole out and Poch in, we’ll sack Ole and hire Poch. End of.
Better hope we get Top 4 or they will be in serious trouble. It would mean the club has lost near 150million due to a global pandemic and are trying to save on costs for 6-12months...Jesus, the state of our fanbase at times.
Yet clubs with vastly inferior resources to us like Villa and Everton are outspending us and the Champions have also not stopped spending. COVID can simply not be used as an excuse they`ve had all summer to look at alternatives to Sancho or other ways of improving the team they are just incompetent cnuts and money hungry bastards who couldn`t give a toss about winning who would happily let us finish 10th if it meant more money into their pocketsIt would mean the club has lost near 150million due to a global pandemic and are trying to save on costs for 6-12months...Jesus, the state of our fanbase at times.
Would no money spent in January indicate Poch in the summer?
If we weren't a poisoned chalice before, we definitely are now. What world class manager or up and coming manager would want to come here and risk their reputations. At least clubs like Chelsea have remained relatively successful throughout their managerial merry-go-round winning titles under Mourinho and Conte. We have been a sorry excuse of a "big club" for eight years and counting now.@ this thread.
Doubt Poch would join this shitshow exec team anyway.
It is. Doesn’t matter who is in charge they will always be undermined.Sorry to bump an old thread but this feels relevant to me. Am I the only one that suspects that this same thing is happening now? But much of our financial situation is circumspect around the capabilities to finish in the top 4. If Ole isn't backed that won't be achieved. We do not have Klopp in charge, Solskjaer needs investment to make it and the owners know this. The United Board won't be in a rush to sack manager who they know will happily smile and nod along while they sanction little/no investment in the squad.
He's a dream for an incompetent like Woodward, because he knows Ole will never publicly undermine him.
Woodward et al probably think that the squad is good enough for a 4th place finish as it is.But much of our financial situation is circumspect around the capabilities to finish in the top 4. The squad is good enough for top 4. The point was to push on with the correct investment. Then we would know if Ole was truly out of his depth.Woodward et al probably think that the squad is good enough for a 4th place finish as it is.
A decent run of form post-lockdown and fans being kept away from stadiums for the foreseeable, has probably convinced them to skip the investment in the squad for this summer. They know that Ole is out of his depth and won't complain and if things go really badly they can just bin him next summer.
