Did we not get tonked 6-1 by city not so long ago?
Under SAF. He described it as the worst loss of his career.

His teams had an impressive tendency to shrug off embarrassing defeats though. Think we went on a winning run after that.

But we have a good team. Lets stop with excuses. This team plays badly. And half of it are Ole's players. Plus pretty good players which he inherited.
We also have players who don't want to be here. They wanted to move out but we asked a lot for them (Pogba).

Needs a big response for the Newcastle game (if he is still here.) Our games coming up to christmas is a nightmare. PSG, RB, Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal.

TBH the players dont look motivated. Having said that there is too much player power at the club. Pogba for instance.

He looks like he has given up in that interview; like he doesn't really care anymore because he knows it's finished.

Not that I think he will be sacked, mind.

Very disappointed today, not just because of the red card and whether it should be one, but it was about how OGS didn't respond.
Frank Lampard did his homework by observing how Crystal Palace would counter attack and negated Zaha completely yesterday.

OGS did nothing. He still committed the full backs forward and allowed Spurs to hit a long ball down the channel for Son to destroy the slow defense.
He has to go after today.

I know I'm in the minority but I feel today it's more the fault of the players. Absolutely braindead, just look at the first three goals we've conceded, the decision making was the major problem.

I'm angry and embarassed, but I hope we learn from this and Improve. Also hope that Ole has seen who is not good enough and who needs to get benched for a while (Shaw, Maguire, Pogba...)

I wouldnt sack him. People need to use their brain. You think the next manager will be backed? Ole is hamstrung by leeches and people who should not be at the club

He's going no where folks, we've played 3 league games since he finished 3rd. You're all living in a fantasy land if you think he's getting fired any time soon

Building what, exactly? What is the plan?

This transfer window and last Summer's transfer window indicates that there isn't a clear, definitive plan. We don't know what we're doing or we don't know how to do what we think we're trying to do.
It was sarcasm.

Who coaches the players?

How Jose in shorter time and with less money transformed Spurs in good side? We have better 11 and expensive 11 (on paper) than them. But still, they have good style of play and we don't. How long we must suffer with this long long term project?
If our players are so much better than Spurs why did we look so shit under Mou? Although I assume you think Ole is even worse (and it would be tough to argue against that right now). Puts Poch’s last 9 months in perspective too doesn’t it?

I don’t know. I’m sick of the disappointment. I do want Ole out now but I don’t expect any improvement- the job is impossible.

Got to admit that was a performance that screamed out that we are needing a new lease of life.

I think we have decent players but I just see no system, watching Leeds last night you could see how they were going to play. United aren't offering anything at this time, it's just really poor.

Sadly enough this is the same tactic Ole used against Pochettino's Spurs in his first away encounter.

Ole has seen these performances since the season started and continues to play them. He refuses to change the formation and has no implemeneted a system yet again. Teams know how to break us down and we are extremely lucky to not be in the relegation show. He needs to go before it gets worse.

He was given 200 million to spend on players last year, and most of them are awful.

Did we not get tonked 6-1 by city not so long ago?
True. People have selective memory over here.:)
In the 90s we also lost 1-5 to city and 6-3 to Southampton. If m not wrong in that same season (6-3 defeat at The dell) we lost first two or three games, then we recovered and won the league. But i need to confirm that.

Sometimes I wonder whether certain posters assume that under Fergie we never had mishaps :)

Needs a response against Newcastle. Pogba needs to be dropped asap. Given our run of games till Christmas, is looking difficult for Ole.

I would say that Ole is a leecher too. Got a job based on his legend status and ruining this club but doesn't want to resign because he knows that he will never work on highest level again.

They've been mostly fine or good. It's our old players that are shit and dragging us down, Luke Shaw came out the other week and begged to be replaced by another LB, that's how fecking bad things have gotten.

I was prepared to give him more time after last season. Something doesn't seem right with how we have started this season. We are looking at another top 4 finish as the best case scenario, especially since we haven't improved the team in the transfer window.

Maybe we should roll the dice with Pochettino, but I'm not convinced he would be a success either. The club is being horribly run at the moment.

Changing managers all the time doesn't fix the fundamental problem of the boardroom. Every manager is hung out to dry in the transfer window; this time it's been the Sancho shambles. We have a structural problem right at the top; they are killing the club, and re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic won't create ling term change.

Love Ole but listening to him just now on Sky, he hasn't got a clue. Bad times ahead if he doesn't get his act together. It's a scary prospect but if we lose to Newcastle and Chelsea we'll be sucked into a bottom half scrap instead of fighting for top 4.

We lost 6-1 against a much better City team who went on to win the league. We were league champions previously and this one was actually a one off at this point, as we had defeated Arsenal 8-2 in the same season before it.

This one is 6-1 against Tottenham fecking Hotspurs though, and we know that the best we'll do after it will be another top 4 at best.

For me, much, much worse lose than this City one.

I am sure Ole has some self respect left and little love for the club and will resign. Right?

He has no system whatsoever. He is someone who just picks the players who are the best and hopes it all works out. Look at the likes of Klopp, guardiola, Bielsa and co. They all have a system

Giving him an extra £500 million won't change the fact he is fecking clueless half the time.

The board are a joke but he can't manage this squad

When was the last time a relegation candidate in Brighton scored 2 and hit the bar 4-5 times in a single game under Fergie? We have been outplayed completely in three out of three games into the season so far and are -6 in GD. When was the last time under Fergie we lost our two opening games at home with 2-9 GD?

Why is that level of coaching acceptable for him?
As I said in the match day thread:

If Solskjaer or the coaching staff are coaching Maguire to head the ball up in the air in his own box, Shaw to drift inside with his man and not pick up wingers, Maguire to not block quick free kicks, Pogba to go to ground in his own box, Martial to punch people and Bailly to pass the ball directly to an opposition player on the edge of his own box then absolutely sack the lot of them because that is disgraceful behaviour.

Did you watch the game against Brighton a week ago?

I did and it was shite too. No hiding the fact that we have been shite since the season started.

The big question is why? We ended up 3rd just a couple of months ago and genuinely it looked like the future was bright for a little while. And now this fecking shit.

Did he lose the dressing room? It seems like it, because never mind coaching and tactics and all that jazz, today it looked like we barely bothered to lace our boots and show up. It was abject shite and school boy errors from the very start. No fight, no desire, no cohesion, no nothing.

If that is the case though, hes done, there is no way back from that. BUT if that is the case we also have a much bigger problem on our hands. We are then in the situation where two managers, one the the greats and one club legend who experiences a mutiny with largely the same group of players in less than 2 years. Thats a scary thought

At a normal club he would be sacked. Unfortunately we're a complete joke of a club and he'll plod on playing the same formation in every game

How far we have fallen..its something that still infuriates me since fergie more than today's result. A catalogue of remarkable errors through recruitment, selection of managers and structure of the club.

I wouldnt sack him. People need to use their brain. You think the next manager will be backed? Ole is hamstrung by leeches and people who should not be at the club
At least we improve on the manager, we cant do anything about the owners and the board. We have a novice manager that belongs to the Norwegian league.

We have had couple of purple patches and have been shite for 80% of the time he has been appointed as manager. It's not like this is something new. He capitalized twice on the rest of the league being equally shite. He's a crap manager and will continue to get found out with time and that's not something new either.

What exactly is the point you are trying to make? That we should have someone like Jose at United? Errr, we tried that at and he failed. Maybe the issue is beyond the manager and there is only one think I can think of - its the mentality and culture that is so rotten that needs to be weeded out slowly but surely.
