A striker signing is always good.. even more considering we dont have a #9 at all..
Wouldnt be surprised if he does an Eriksen and becomes a starter and not a squad player.

No real downsides to this. Should become a squad player that can offer something different in games and can be an option to rotate when the games build up. Not the marquee no.9 we wanted or still need, but an extra number in the forward line that's badly needed.

We tend to do very well in the short term with these older strikers.

Larsson
Ibrahimovic
Cavani
Even Ighalo whilst being roundly criticized was a very decent squad player to give starters a rest during cup games.

I think he is going to be very popular by this time next month.

Everyone is singing his name now but will insult him once they see him plays and runs awkwardly like Fellaini.

If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry

Start of the season, he said Martinez was too small to play in the Premier League and now look how that move has turned out as he’s been the best CB in the league.

Bit of a flat one this for me. He's a big target man for the others to play off but he's never looked up to this level. It's an option we dont currently have in the team though.

A bit too much excitement, but as you said he gives us another option and hopefully it brings more out of our other attackers

Just watched some of his highlights, very good touch and control for a big guy.

Yes, he's a good player. Not top level, but he works hard, holds the ball up well and is a threat in the air. Ten Hag has always liked a traditional #9 (at least in the Eredivisie, anyway - the false 9 system was largely reserved for European competition). He'll get some goals, some of them will probably be important and overall I think we'll look back on this as a shrewd signing.
