Olly one more thing - can you make a gif form Liverpool's game vs Stoke. I'm after an incident where Henderson and Adam had 5 or 6 shots in close succession and yet they failed to score.

Surely quoting gifs is fine, as long as you don't quote them from previous pages. Although a blanket rule would probably sort that better.
Best not to quote them at all. A description, or @post#x would be much better. Spoilering them in the quote is an option too. This thread will work best if each gif is only posted once.

A thumbnail hyperlinked to the gif will be the most bandwidth friendly method.

Re: your white text, I'm probably being a bit militant but if people at least try to avoid unnecessary quoting it's all good.
I could watch Hernandez goal all day. The way he suckers the defender in to being a yard out of position is just beautiful.
Re: The quoted images having to load, even if you quoted the same image 10 times it wouldn't make a difference.
If the image is 300kb and you quoted it 10 times, you wouldn't have t download 3mb, your browser downloads it once and displays it 10 times, I can't see many people having computers that would stuggle to load 10 images so it shouldn't be a problem.
I'm not saying it's a good thing to quote mind you, it's unnecessary and makes the page 3 times longer than it should be, spoilers are a good idea, that way, what I said above applies and you can still let people know which image you are applying your green smilie to.
