If Milan sells these 2 players I doubt that they will qualify for Champions next season. Literally best players in their position in Italy by a long distance.
That's not the point. They're royally screwed finance-wise. Selling the two players that will stump up enough cash and take a huge chunk out of the wage bill is the only thing they can do. This will give them some leeway, and perhaps sign up some younger, cheaper talent.
If there isn't at least one rumour by the time I wake up tomorrow morning linking us with a central midfielder I am going to highly consider writing a strongly worded letter to Sir Alex himself, and also all of the Glazers, and also David Gill.

That's the thanks to us for letting them have Howard, Neville, Saha and Gibson for almost nothing.
If we came anywhere close to paying that then frankly the Glazers should take all of transfer budget/"war chest" (however big/small it actually is) and give it all to the first banker they come across - we clearly wouldn't deserve transfer funds if we wasted it like that.

I'd rather try and tempt BAE away from Spurs for that money. Seriously, he's a 10-12 million pound player, at best. BAE is a better defender, better going forward and much, much cooler, which is always important.
I think BAE is terrible. Makes Pat Evra looks like a defensive masterclass.
Maybe you don't watch that much of him? He's really improved his defending, he's a much more complete fullback than Baines.
Agree that the quoted valuation is bonkers. But I'd not include Gibson on that list. I'm relieved they took him, I'd have given him away. He served as little more than a weak excuse to not go out and buy what we need (and still do).
i dont know what what pisses me off more- the idea of singing Leighton fecking Baines for 20 mil or U2's songs.
I would take him for 10-12 mil though.
