Are the nerves setting in yet for those still competing for playoff/automatic/SMFA Cup/SMFA Shield or trying to avoid relegation?

Your whole season has been leading to this moment. 37 games played and just 1 left which could make or break your entire season. The work and effort you've put in up till now could be all for nothing.

Good luck.

It's now a three horse race between Sunderland, Newcastle and Manchester City for Ezequiel Cirigliano's signature.

Sunderland offered Ramazon Kose
Newcastle offered Hans Van Der Bruggen
City offered £3.9m

Well done he’s 13
Going all out against Palace. Aiming for the big win. Failing that I'll get a play-off place anyway, doubt there will be an 11 goal shift in mine and Derby's GD.

Do we have any idea about the cash prizes for each position?
I've no idea. Found this old post but the formula will most likely have changed in the 5 years since and probably isn't relevant for this league.

If that is right then I'll get £7.6M. I doubt I'll get anywhere near that amount though. £2-3M will be the likely amount... hopefully.

Sunderland for some reason kept bidding, then withdrawing, then bidding again.

Odd.

If I can get Balotelli for Bolton it'd be a great signing, would add some much needed firepower up top.
It's not odd, it's just him adjusting his bid.

Balotelli is a fecking liability, and on top of that his football is overrated; he'll never rise higher than 91 in-game.

Derby.
Placed a bid on him yesterday and then thought I really don't need him, can prioritise other areas.

I finished 2nd in an 8-team Division two and didn't get anywhere near the £6M that formula says I should have gotten. Was less than half that, I think.

Got to speculate to accumulate.

He had a good season at City and had a good go at the Euro's. 92 isn't out of the realms of possibility.

Plus their isn't many strikers out there that are as good as him at his price.

Really cider? really?

I certainly didn't miss it when he stuck two past us.
Did you miss City losing points after he was repeatedly red carded then?

He should have been sent off against us too btw.

He's just the new El Haj Diouf or Joey Barton; a half decent player who's ability doesn't make up for him being an absolute twat.

I did, actually, though it was easy to miss, seeing as they only dropped points in one of the five games Balotelli missed after his two sending offs.

In any event, unless there's a "cuntishness" rating which increases a player's likelihood of getting sent off, (doesn't seem it. In 23 appearances with SM-City, he picked up 2 yellows and no reds,) it hardly matters in a fictional simulation.

Of course it matters. The SM rating is based on real life overall performance, so obviously discipline is taken into account alongside actual footballing ability.

He's averaged a red card every ten games since joining City; four in forty-two appearances. He's been lucky not to have more than just four as well; he's a right shitc**t of a player.

I can't believe I'm having to point out the negative impact of Balotelli's continual childish, selfish and impetuous on-field behaviour to a United fan just because you've made a bid for him on SM. You may or may not be about to sign him for your fantasy Liverpool side, but, whether you do or do not, it won't alter the fact that in real life Mario Balotelli is a ridiculous liability.

I can't believe you're doing that either. It'd be like arguing that Ronaldo wouldn't be worth adding to your fictional City team because he dives; irrelevant nonsense. Barring a dip in form in the beginning of the season, Balotelli's rating will rise the next time England is reviewed.

What is it you think I'm doing?

I'm genuinely baffled as to how you perceive Balotelli's time at Man City. To say the least he's been problematic; to be more blunt he's been outright destructive. Yeah he scored thirteen goals last season, but he was also at the center of a great number of controversies that show him up as being the kind of player you don't really want around your team. In terms of ability he's very good, he's by no means great, but he's a very good footballer; what lets him down is his mentality, and boy does it let him down! He'd remind me of Didier Drogba if Didier Drogba wasn't as good as football and was six years old; his teammates and managers quite clearly actively dislike him on account of him being a whinging sulk who demonstrates time and time again that he can only ever think off himself and has no concept of any notion of morale or responsibility. The man's ridiculous; four red cards in forty games for feck sake!

But, hey, you've bid for him on SM, so ignore the obvious and gaping flaws in his temperament which render him largely useless as a player; Balotelli's amazing yay!

Making mountains out of molehills here.

Opinions on Balotelli:
Cider(talking completely about real life): Good footballer, but a little shithead, which will ultimately affect how good he becomes in real life.

Excal: Good footballer in real life, and a great player in SM. Real life antics wont really affect SM.

Yous are going around in circles.

SM ratings are based on real life.

To use the Ronaldo analogy as an example; if his diving had a significant negative impact on his worth as a player, of course it'd be taken into account when rating him.

managing Charlton.
What is going on here. I think the ratings will be purely on Balotelli's performance on the pitch, and his childishness will not be taken into account to rate him on SM.

His performance on the pitch, yes, something which is directly related to and effected by his childishness. His performance regularly suffers on account of his attitude; why would you think the community of Soccerwiki would be ignorant to this blatant truth?

Perhaps you just don't watch enough football? I can't imagine anyone who's seen Balotelli play regularly not grasping the concept of his football and his petulant demeanour being inseparable at times with the latter having a distinct negative impact on the former for various reasons.
