Another mercenary outed
No kidding. That's an outrageous fee. Still, it's City and they have to pay through the nose for anyone they set their sights on.£23 million?
He's allegedly been forced out by Everton. Not sure if it's true, but I'd hold back from insulting him. Definitely doesn't look like he's forced the move for his personal wealth.Another mercenary outed
Hardly, I'd say Everton were practically offering him.Another mercenary outed
How so? He's being offered the chance to go to the PL champions, play in the CL and potentially break into the England squad. You wouldn't move in his position?Another mercenary outed
Just heard about this, has friendlytramp been heard from?
City need cover, hence a player like him.20 odd million?!
He's done practically nothing in 18 months and couldn't even break into an Everton side who were desperate to get Pienaar back after Arteta left
When he was 18 and given his physical attributes he had a great potential but he really hasn't developed the way people expected
I doubt he'll get 10 starts for city next year
I'm sure he's crywanking into an empty Pot Noodle as we speak.Just heard about this, has friendlytramp been heard from?
Alec lied to him. For shame.I'm sure he's crywanking into an empty Pot Noodle as we speak.
He didn't lie. He just didn't. All of those things he said were true, to the best of his knowledge, at the time he said them.Alec lied to him. For shame.
How do you know we didn't bid for him? Maybe that forced Cities hand and is the reason they closed out this deal now despite not needing another CM.Fees in 15m plus incremental additions

Also anybody else surprised that we didn't bid for him(no reports of that till now, I might be wrong ofcourse). We've been linked with him for ages, so it's obvious we rate him or have rated him in the past.
Yeh. He can only be interested in the money. Nothing to do with a genuine chance of challenging for trophies.Another mercenary outed
Again missing the point of my post.Yes, if only we'd managed to pick up someone like Kagawa for less than 20milion eh?
It reminds me of joe cole to be honest ie a player whose constantly linked with us without ever signing with us. Saf may have thought hes too injury proneFees in 15m plus incremental additions

I have been crying out for a cm for years however i wouldnt want rodwell. Hes injury prone + we already have too much potential (ando, clev, powell, tunnicliffe)Once again i'm not disappointed to lose out. Rodwell has always been a good talent but he seems to have lost his way, partly due to injuries. I was worried Man City would sign someone with more proven ability than him.
This gives them more depth but he'll be lucky to get a decent amount of playing time.
If no one gets your point maybe you're not doing a very good job making it.Again missing the point of my post.
How is he class? I barely recall ever thinking he was THAT good. There's a reason he's gone right off the radar. I've completely lost track of him. Why didn't he play last season? Injuries? If so it's too soon to say that he's class. Let's wait and see how he recovers from them. Or perhaps he actually did play and was completely anonymous.I think this is a terrific bit of business by City. Rodwell is class and if he can stay clear of injuries he will grow into a super player. You see 2-3 years ago when his stock was highest clubs were put off by a £20-25million plus valuation. Now his stock is low and he has slipped off the radar his value is lower and worth the figures mentioned.
A great move for him it will improve him as a player with the quality around him. Mancini is obviously looking long term now rather than a short-term fix.
