Sad for him. After he missed the X-mas fixtures you knew bad news was coming.
huh ? He wasn't in contention in the summer and Sir Alex didn't even mention him but still didn't bring any midfielder in. So much for that policy theory. It's not tricky, you buy another player who can do what he does and keep him in the squad. If he recovers, great, we've got another option in CM, God knows we need one, if he doesn't, we're not short. The policy we're pursuing at the moment, relying on him as an important squad member even though he's clearly not been good enough since late 2010 is sentimental to the point of idiocy.
That would be the idiotic part.huh ? He wasn't in contention in the summer and Sir Alex didn't even mention him but still didn't bring any midfielder in. So much for that policy theory.
Well that's your opinion. That would be the idiotic part.
No idea. Does anyone know if we claimed on Hargreaves's insurance? Not wanting to sound insensitive but at what point can you claim on a players insurance?
I think it's pretty obvious that we are, Ferguson said last summer that he'd be giving Fletcher "every possible chance" to get back, that would seem to preclude signing a player in his position.Well that's your opinion.
But it isn't sentimental as we aren't saving a place for him and not buying for that reason.
Same. Best of luck, hopefully the surgery was a success and he can focus on getting better now.Gutted. Hopefully we'll see him back soon.
I'd say it's "idiocy" to just keep him hanging around the squad if you've gone out and bought someone to do what he did! It's not tricky, you buy another player who can do what he does and keep him in the squad. Good luck Fletch!
Good luck Fletch!
Who are you talking to?I'm hopeful. I wish you the very best Mr Fletcher, hope you'll be pain free after this
Now now!Gutted. Hopefully we'll see him back soon.
Ouch.Gutted. Hopefully we'll see him back soon.
Huh? How does it preclude anything? "every possible chance" to get fit is no equal to every possible chance to start every week.I think it's pretty obvious that we are, Ferguson said last summer that he'd be giving Fletcher "every possible chance" to get back, that would seem to preclude signing a player in his position.
The key difference is back in the Summer he was back in training and expected to regain fitness by XMAS. Now we would be expecting the same timeline... but starting six months earlier.I think it's pretty obvious that we are, Ferguson said last summer that he'd be giving Fletcher "every possible chance" to get back, that would seem to preclude signing a player in his position.
Now now!
Wish him all the best in his recovery anyway. He has already started doing some coaching work, and I think he should start focussing on that a bit more now. Scotsmen make fine managers anyway.
Just a poor choice of words rather than a cnutish joke.Ouch.
No he wasn't. He came back to training in August only and it was also a let's wait and see type of situation. The key difference is back in the Summer he was back in training and expected to regain fitness by XMAS. Now we would be expecting the same timeline... but starting six months earlier.
Clevz hasn't had any significant injury issues (a question mark last Summer) so I think he will stick to his guns.
No of course, I was only playing to be honest. I imagine the sentiment is the same throughout this thread, even amongst rival supporters. Fletch is definitely one of the good guys.Just a poor choice of words rather than a cnutish joke.
A guy wrote to Fletch and linked him to our threads about him earlier I think. Fletch replied too.Who are you talking to?
I hope this op just sorts out his everyday life, it's wank to be suffering this illness at his age.
I don't agree with Man Utd fans about Fletcher's quality as a player but I have nothing but admiration for him as a dedicated pro. I think it's probably time for him to get his health on track and move to a coaching role.No of course, I was only playing to be honest. you're a prickNot wanting to sound insensitive but at what point can you claim on a players insurance?
I agree about the coaching role thing, I reckon that will happen. Ive felt for a while we might hear news like this. Having known someone with the same condition and seen first hand its impact im not sure any operation can "fix" it.I don't agree with Man Utd fans about Fletcher's quality as a player but I have nothing but admiration for him as a dedicated pro. I think it's probably time for him to get his health on track and move to a coaching role.
I also have never agreed with wild claims at times rating him as one of the best midfielders in the world etc. I know his limitations, although I also know his value over the years. Your team could have done with a couple like him in recent years I reckon.I don't agree with Man Utd fans about Fletcher's quality as a player but I have nothing but admiration for him as a dedicated pro. I think it's probably time for him to get his health on track and move to a coaching role.
feck off blunder. You're the prick here, I posted when it was first announced that I was gutted for Fletcher and my question is a genuine one regarding the insurance.you're a prick
you've never had a good word to say about Fletcher so why dont you feck off out of this thread if you havent got a decent thing to say
Fair play EP.Why would anyone give a shit whether or when we can claim insurance?
Is that what the modern fan is interested in?
