Maybe for you.

The key words for me are that when Moyes signed, the negative ones would say "oh great, he'll sign Fellaini, in keeping with him using his own coach staff, and stick to what he knows. Shit on a stick, etc."

Then he announced his intention to sign Superstar Hero X for Big Money, lowballed on Fabregas, let Fellaini's clause expire and now he's signing on deadline day anyway.

It's a lot of key words, I'll grant you, but I like how this panned out. It's actually funnier than if you signed no one at all.
Does telling yourself that make you feel better ?

Why did he not hand one in weeks ago. Why is this being done with less than 12 hours to go in the window. Its madness.

I'm thinking we won't even get this done today.

To play the part of a marquee signing, I would suggest that Felliani get a hedge trimmer and shape his afro into that of a fecking crown. It will be the closest thing we get to a mega-signing.

It will be a late one, but may well be the only one.

Very disappointing and I am still bemused why we didn't ping his release clause. I can only assume Woodward is totally inept and thought he could get him for less.

Or a likeness of Ronaldo.

Fellaini Carrick
Valencia Rooney/Kagawa Nani
RvP
Make it happen. I am disappointed that Arsenal are on the brink of signing Ozil, but in all honestly we are fine in that department. Make this Fellaini deal happen and we are good to go.
On another note, I spoke with a die hard Evertonian fan about Fellaini and he honestly believes that this is the only signing we need to make to retain the title.

Ok lineup but it lacks star-dust.

I don't see Valencia as an attacking winger, more like a normal midfielder so it has to be a 4-4-1-1 rather than a 4-2-3-1.

Gone a bit quiet this. Would have thought we'd have had some more rumblings on this one.

Its absurd this one has gone to deadline day when he had a release clause we knew about a month ago and we could have gotten him in pre-season and settled. All this hassle over a few million more than we bid. What a farce.

Valencia isn't a 4231 player. Kagawa and Nani are, so them two either side of Rooney behind Van Persie would work well imo. Make it happen Moyes.

Exactly. People are obsessed with this 4-2-3-1, when it's infact a 4-4-1-1 if Valencia plays.

Yep. If we were to play a legitimate 4231, he'd be more suited to right back imo.

The longer this saga drags on the less I want him, and I thought he'd be an excellent signing at the start of summer.

I'm the opposite. At the start of the summer I was thinking "is he the kind of player that we need?" and "surely there's better options out there?" but now I'm thinking "fine, he's a midfielder, he'll do."

Its definitely gonna happen and I'm happy for it. I just hope he isn't our only signing.

I dont mind Felliani. However if we sign him without bringing in a quality playmaker then I fear that our team will not resist the temptation of resorting to long ball football.

Latest from McNumpty --

"All the signs are that Manchester United's pursuit of Marouane Fellaini is moving towards a successful conclusion before the window closes - which will leave Everton manager Roberto Martinez with money to spend. The Dutch media reports that Feyenoord's highly-rated defender Bruno Martins Indi is waiting to fly in to England to complete a move to Goodison Park once the Fellaini deal is done."
