...did you guys find it smooth and clicking and imagining how much having 2 v.good, ball winning CMs will improve us if we have a front 4 of Mata-Kagawa-Rooney-Januzaj/RvP in big games? Maybe we don't need another creative player necessarily. Thoughts?

...btw, above I don't mean Januzaj-RvP staight swap in positions. Just the front 4 options, the preferable ones as of today.

That's all very well but we all know Moyes wants to play Young and Valencia as wingers whenever possible.

Its a tremendous partnership in the making because they're so similar players. What we need is a system that gets the best out of them. Hopefully, if we stick with Moyes, he has it in him to implement it but I cant see it. We have fantastic attacking talent, we need a system that utilizes them.

I think we could be seeing Van Persie out the door in the summer. I'd love to see a front 3 like this:

--Mata-----Kagawa---
------Rooney-------

Wazza can bang in 30 a season up there. And they are 3 hard workers, who if we strengthen in the midfield we could destroy teams.

Moyes will coach this technical ability and invention out of them soon enough. After the summer both will come back hench and foul people.

I don't think RvP will leave. We will let him go only if we have a top striker available and willing to join us.

Unfortunately from what we've seen this season, Moyes prefers:

--Mata--XXX---XXX--Young--
-----Rooney--Van Persie-----

I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.

Thats what I've always wanted. Perfect. But with another manager.

Actually this is.

We don't really need one though. We should already only be playing one of RVP and Rooney, what would be the point in letting RVP go only to go and get Cavani, for example? It gives us the same problem. Rooney/Welbeck/Hernandez is good depth for the one striker position

That's what we heard in 2006 with Van Nistelrooy. Sometimes what makes sense is more important that keeping around big names. Rooney, Kagawa and Mata sound incredible.

Probably not going to happen, but those three are all intelligent, hard worker players who want the ball and dont mind dropping into other areas to help out. Its insane if he doesn't at least try this formula.

We need a midfielder who can hold his own in the middle of the park and we will be fine wrt Kagawa-Mata partnership.

Whilst Sir Alex would have got rid of Rooney last Summer to do something similar, if Moyes is too scared to even take off Van Persie, what makes you think he has the balls to sell him?

Every game Mata and Kagawa have played together they look dangerous. Kagawa has to start in every game now.

Agree and understand what you guys mean here but if Rooney gets injured then we will need someone world class up front. Can't say same about Chicha and Welbeck (mind I love those two though and want them to be part of squad as well )

They're fecking fantastic together. And it's no surprise either. Anyone with a football brain could have seen it coming from a mile away.

Rooney, Mata, Welbeck, Nani, Kagawa, Januzaj.

Pick any four.

Hahahahaha that's the funniest thing I've ever read.
 I don't understand the point of the comments like he made when it is totally irrelevant to the discussion topic.

No worries
They worked together alot better in the second half I thought and both showed more of the quality we know they have in them. Great to see them play well.

It's simple, they have to play in every single match. We have some great players and they can only click together if instructed the right way. Mata, Kagawa, Rooney, Adnan, RVP and even Nani are players who can all be on the same wavelength.

Our play looked so good when Young went off, he just doesn't fit in the system Kagawa and Mata like to play whereas Januzaj is a natural playing the wide attacking midfielder role and linking up centrally with the number 10. With Young you've got all of our team playing centrally and him trying to get it out wide.

The future of Mata, Januzaj, Kagawa and Rooney up top looks very promising if we manage to sign a midfielder that adds a bit of drive from deep, someone that comes out with the ball from defense and commits players with his runs and opens up space for others.

4-1-4-1 indeed could look very good I think. Might be a bit too open though against good teams, but Mata and Kagawa look to have such a great understading.

They should start every meaningful match when they are avilable. I don't remember two United players having this kind of chemistry for a long time.

So obvious, isn't it? Moyes needs to recolate his genitals and do what's best for the club on this one. It's becoming clearer and clearer that we need to take the hit on Robin, as good as he is.

If he comes back and we shunt Rooney back into #10 and Mata wide right I think I'll murder him.

As horrible as it sounds, what a blessing Van Persie's injury has been. Surely even Moyes would realise this is the way to go with the team now, though we'll probably have to wait until he has both Van Persie and Rooney fit to see whether that is true. In the mean time we can enjoy some rather nice football.

Thing is, surely RVP will be willing and maybe even keen to leave?

This nonsense about RVP.

The issue is Rooney playing as #10. Play any of Kagawa/Mata/Janujaz there, then pick Rooney or RVP up top.

--------- Carrick ------
----- Mata -Kagawa --
Nani - Rooney -Januzaj

or

---- Carrick - Fellaini ----
Kagawa - Mata - Januzaj
-------- Rooney --------

Actually, it doesn't matter... Just play Mata and Kagawa goddammit!

So much good movement and awareness that we needed badly against Liverpool and City... They add speed and most of all some football brain to this team as their form progress in good direction.

Moyes has some foundations to start building new team on but still he should look for world class players in the window... lots of them.

that is what happens when players are picked according to their footballing ability as opposed to the athletic ability. Passing, linkup play, vision, goals are better than speed, engine, tracking back and other such nonsense

Once again, I reiterate that the Rooney/RVP conundrum is the elephant in the room.

Intelligent off-the ball movement and short, quick passing between the likes of Mata and Kagawa are what we need to unlock teams like Newcastle, something we failed to do often at home.
