We'll see.

I'm done here anyway. I'll remember to bump this thread every once in a while over the next few seasons. It'll be fun.
I think this will be locked as soon as we sack him come May 12.

Decorator came over to paint the house yesterday. I was slightly concerned when instead of painting he began lacing the walls with petrol before sitting the sofa on fire. However, I decided I probably shouldn't complain until he'd finished the job, since it wouldn't be fair otherwise. In other news, I am now homeless.
You can only judge him once he gets his own walls in. What's he supposed to do with someone else's walls?

We Moyes agnostics are the only ones that can't be disappointed. You should try it some time.

Moyes' only real achievement has been to make Wayne Rooney bigger than the club. Under the Moyes regime it seems, no matter what Rooney does, he will always play, he will always be given special treatment, he will never be blamed when he plays badly. Its pathetic.

Oh you poor deluded fool. Do you think men like the Glazers, who are ruthless genius businessmen, will be sitting there thinking, yeah let's let him finish the season, and then we'll sack him the day after the season finishes!

I've seen a couple of people who are sure we'll get rid as soon as the season is over. I sometimes think that it might just happen. Who knows? But then I remember his 6 year contract, and that Sir Alex and Sir Bobby are still on the board.

Also, Moyes is planning for next season, still scouting away and looking all chirpy at recent press conferences.

Maybe he does not know he is getting the boot.

His non-CL qualification sack clause is yet to come into effect.

The Glazers care about their money...

Doubt they'd tell him. If I got sacked I'd know about it at 17.30 when I'm told not to come back in the morning and to enjoy my gardening leave.

He was promising me that he'd bring in the best walls that money could buy. He's changed his tune since, saying he'll try but it'll be difficult as the best ones are all off competing at the Wall Cup.

Glazers have sacked managers in the offseason so there's precedence.

PR has a lot to do with it too, looks better to sack him by the season's conclusive end than to come across as hasty and sack him before.

Trust me, agnostics have it better. We don't have to keep posting the same tired old shit every day. Must get tiring :(.
exactly, at least wait for the next sh!T result before giving it loads and loads.

we'll be 6th at best, Moyes is going nowhere, and this summer is make or break

there won't be any such clause. Noone thought it was even a possibility!
No chance in hell he gets a 6 year contract without get-outs. Just a question of what they are, I'd imagine top four would be the most obvious to include.

Er yeah. If their ownership of Tampa Bay is anything to go by, these ruthless businessmen usually sack managers when a disappointing season has effectively finished. And guess what some of those reasons were...a bad run of results, vast underachievement, negative/defensive tactics, failure to make the play-offs after spending big money, losing the faith of players. Sound familiar?

"Hey Ed, we should stick a "must get in top 4 clause" into the contract"

Black Monday, in the NFL is the day after the last regular season game when coaches traditionally get the ax. So-yes, the Glazers are familiar with keeping coaches around for the season before firing them.

Anyone not waiting at least 2 years (I think 3 is fairer) before judging Moyes is simply being impatient.
But that's the thing

I HAVE seen Moyes for a decade and there is no change, let alone improvement, in his perceived shortfalls

You cannot repackage a Maiasaur into a Velociraptor by just giving it a fancy new claw, can you? It'll still eat grass and lick your face like the mother cow dinosaur it is

Maybe in a sport they understand something about.

They'll be massively guided by, you know who, our legendary manager and Sir Bob.
They're probably saying, well Chelsea won nothing, so we made the right decision not getting Mourinho.

Moyesie doesn't have the demeanour of a man who is anywhere near the sack.
He's talking next season plans and all sorts.

I'd be hugely surprised to see him go. Even when it's important of money versus saving face, we'll look ridiculous having given it loads about 6 year deals, we back managers etc

Because the MoyesIn camp is as passionate and circle jerky at defending him as the MoyesOut camp is at finding faults

Don't pretend it's otherwise just because your numbers are running low at the moment

This is a football forum where debates will happen, people will say the same things over and over again, some people will spew bile till they collapse. All are traits common to both camps

Taking a moral high ground compared to the other camp is nothing short of irrational

Well, he may talk the talk but maybe that decision hasn't been made yet and wouldn't he be the last to know?

That's how we need to explain it to silent running

He's a bit of a dinosaur geek

Probably that's why he supports Moyes

I agree. I was just pointing out that it's not unusual in the NFL for coaches to remain in their jobs and then get fired right after the season ends.

I expect they're not even discussing it, stubborn to the last.

All I know is the sooner this season is done, the better.

Then we can look forward to a transfer window that starts off all Cavani, Fabregas, Vidal, Kroos, Mangala, Shaw, and ends up all (add average players in here)
