This is absolutely hilarious. A grown-as$ man throwing a fit about no one celebrating his birthday! Only Yaya Toure and Third World dictators would care about commemorating a birthday after their 21st.
He doesnt give a feck about the bday cake or the celebrations. He wants to move to PSG for a bigger pay cheque and all of this is a ploy to go away.

He's already being paid handsomely at City isn't he? The whole situation is a bit bizarre to me even if he wants to move to PSG for more money.

Bah, he seems like a typical mercenary. He probably realizes he could get a pay bump with a contract ending later than his current City one, and that given his age, it's now or never. Not extremely surprising though it's pretty distasteful.

City need to accept that what goes around comes around. You buy a player in on big money he isnt coming to City for the illustrious history. he probably has one big move left, and PSG will pay him more money so there you go.

Absolutely, and it applies for a lot of their players.

No amount is enough though, is it? He'l get paid more at PSG and that's enough for him. Last big contract for him anyways.

Absolutely. They cant curse him for leaving for a bigger paycheque, that's why he ended up there in the first place.

It applies across the board unfortunately. We need to be bringing in top players this year - and doubtless they'll want a premium on their wages for not being in the CL. It's just the way football is now.

Indeed - although he's not gone about it the right way. To be honest, PSG and living in Paris is probably a pretty attractive option for a French speaking player anyway, and the pay rise a bonus.

I'm conflicted. One the one hand, him leaving City weakens them considerably. On the other hand, him leaving City removes the possibility of Happy Birthday being sung to him by opposition fans in every match next season.

It would be an impressive contract, if he does get £250k per week here as often reported, just to get parity with that in France he would need £550k per week because of the 75% tax on the highest earnings, compared to the 45% tax over here (to take £137.5k home after tax). It would probably be wrangled similar to the Luiz deal where the transfer fee would be large, and the sign on bonus would probably be paid via the UK club, to reduce the tax. (At least that's my guess about what's happening in the Luiz deal).

A lot is made of "tax" and the like - but surely its a fluid concept? Rich people pay expensive expert lawyers and accountants to "avoid" tax, hence the scandals over here with Gary Barlow and whoever else.

I'm fairly sure Yaya wont be paying 45% tax on his earnings. I know lads working in the Oil and Gas industry, obviously earning a fraction of what footballers earn and they dont pay anwyehre near 45%.

I am pretty sure you will find that there is nobody called Yaya Toure on the books at Manchester City.

You will probably find a monthly invoice payable to Toure proffesional footballer resourcing inc from a company registered in the Caymans or similar.

The same way Arsenal fiddle the tax for their players.

Then why not use a more "mature" reason for wanting to leave City  ? I believe somewhere in there, he really got offended by this birthday issue, footballers can be childish. Why would he willingly humiliate himself like that ?

That's what I am wondering. He's done himself no favors.

He's a fecking idiot then, of all the things he could have chosen from, a fecking birthday :houllier:
Indeed.

Why not just be honest. Say you've done all you can at City and fancy a move to Paris. Easy.

Yaya Toure’s father expects his son to stay at Manchester City this summer despite the midfielder being heavily linked with a move away from Eastlands.

The midfielder's adviser, Dmitry Seluk, revealed last month that the 31-year-old was considering leaving the club because he felt under-appreciated after the Etihad Stadium outfit's owners had failed to acknowledge his birthday.

French outift Paris St-Germain were thought to be leading the race for the Ivory Coast international's signature, with City officials increasingly frustrated with Toure's refusal to commit his future to the club.

Toure has since said he will clarify his future for certain after the World Cup, but Mory Toure has vehemently denied his son will quit the Premier League champions.

"No, he won’t leave," Mory Toure told Goal. "And it’s not even my wish that he leaves Manchester City. It’s said that the most wished for changes bring their sadness. And I reconfirm that he won’t leave.

"If Yaya wanted Manchester City to pay particular attention to the date of his birthday, it’s because he felt that it was the right moment for the club to show him their consideration for all the sacrifices made for City to be at this level.

"It’s a situation he didn’t appreciate. And as he’s a boy who doesn’t keep his frustrations to himself, he preferred to express himself. But I think it’s a situation which will be resolved."

Honestly would PSG be allowed to sign him? They're already pissing all over this PFA thing and they just spent £50m on Luiz and Touré wouldn't be cheap either, what happens if they keep breaching it? Will they get a transfer ban/chucked out of Europe/Hell, even relegated?

They haven't shown concrete signs--at least that I am aware of--that they intend to abide BY FFP. It's hard to gage what they'll do.

He's accusing city of not allowing him to spend time with his dying brother, personally i think that's rubbish, and i think he's doing everything he can to burn bridges and force a move anyway he can, the cake was just the start, he's truly a massive cnut.

At the height of Cakegate, he even joked about it, before his agent took his keyboard. Not a single mum about the brother at the time, so, I have some doubts in Yaya's truthfulness here.

So now he's using his brothers death to wedge a gap between himself and city and force a move? What a fecking monstrous cnut.

Highly doubt there's any truth in what he said as to be fair to City they let Zabaleta and Tevez take leave when having family problems. Another point is didn't he say they wouldn't let him stay and made out that he had to go Dubai for celebrations? If your employer told you that you had to go on holiday for celebrations whilst your brother was dying you'd clearly tell them too feck off.

Wow, what an idiot.

But he is literally one of the best players in the world. I watched loads of City this season and Toure and Silva won them the title. When Yaya is up for it, nobody can stop him. To be that big and that skilled in the center of the pitch is devastating.

Using his dead brother for that surely wouldn't go down well with the family, and if anything they (Toure brothers) have to me seemed like family people.
I'm inclined to believe that there is a misunderstanding somewhere that led Yaya to believe that City didn't do their best they could with the knowledge they had about the situation.

If he wants out he isn't really making a good case for himself for a future employer. I wish City used there money to just let him rot in their reserves and continually fine him for being a prick.

Sounds to me like he's looking for any excuse at all to leave City. Like Suarez is currently doing at Liverpool too.

Both of which make me happy.

Doesn´t change the fact he is one crazy fecker...
Not that I would like to admit it I think City would treat their players with more respect than this, as Maccaa quoted above. Tevez and Zabaleta got treated well when they had their family issues!

This Primadonna is making me feel sick for the level of cut of from normality these footballers are showing..
This guy just brings this to a whole new level (along with another former City player Tevez) this is a new low point for spoiled footballers!

YESHHHHH, We'll GOOO for it.
Let's be a little sensitive about this. They appear to be a tightly knit family and it'll be genuinely shit if he's using his brother's death to engineer a move away from City. I don't know if he knew that his brother would end up dead and it's probably the guilt that's making him talk like this. He even blames himself in the interview. It's all good taking the piss out of his cake celebration, but I'm going to believe Yaya.

RIP, Yaya's little brother.

fecking hell. Using your dead brother to fashion a move away from a club for a bigger pay cheque. I thought I'd heard it all.
