A possible outcome for this whole episode is that he might end up staying at Liverpool. He will be looked on as damaged goods and no club with a good reputation would want to go anywhere near him.

Sad though because he is such a good player when he puts his mind to it.

The guy is crazy! He needs a psychiatrist! He has millions, why doesn't he go to see a proper doctor?
Because he doesn't think there's a problem in biting someone. To him it's just part and parcel of the game. It's like the habitual drunk who won't admit they're an alcoholic. If someone doesn't think they need help no one in the world can help them. That's why he needs to be removed from the game.

Just one mans opinion, but I believe he will be kicked out of the tournament, face a 12 month domestic ban and 24 month International ban.

For as corrupt as FIFA is, this is his third time and this incident is taking the lime light off their premiere event. They will not stand for that as it risks sponsors and potential fan bases.

If there is anything that can get FIFA to react it is when someone puts their $,£ or € at risk.
I think you are on the right track, he'll get a worldwide ban. It won't be that long though, I think a 3 month ban from all football and 12 months from internationals with enforced psychiatric help in his down time.

He'll move from the UK too I think, not sure Barca will risk it, though I doubt he'll fetch more than 45 million now, which is, for him cheap in todays market so they might. One of the french money clubs is perhaps more likely after this, they dont seem to give a shite anyway.

What FIFA need to do is ban him from all football for 6-12 months so that he can get help for his obvious temper problems.
If I was in charge of the Uruguay FA I would ban him for good, but thats no going to happen , they love him too much.

All this outrage towards suarez is so ridiculous. Yeah he deserves a ban but people ae going overboard with this lifetime ban/club ban nonsense.

what balotelli did in the same match was much more dangerous, he could have killed him
The biggest difference is that was an On the ball incident. If it had happened off the ball, the punishment would be much more severe

The antics demonstrated by Suarez are the lowest in the whole of football. He could pass infections on to people he bites, there can't be a more ridiculous player behavior that can top that. You can't go around biting people it's seriously, Bizarrely, insane and uncalled for. He should be off for this tournament and any other upcoming professional football event.

What's difficult to understand what RedPersie is trying to do? He said what Balotelli did is very dangerous as if red cards and punishments are dished out based on the physical harm caused. What happens if a player pulls out his cock and waves in his opponent's face? No injury right? Does he walk free? What happened when Bendtner revealed his shorts with another sponsor's name? No harm done yeah?

There's no faux outrage anywhere, the only ridiculous level is the defending of Suarez that you fickle lot do. If he played for anybody else than God given Liverpool, you'll get on your stupid fecking high horse and cry mighty. What happened when Giggs' stuff came out? Sorry, are you a bit thick?
RAWK were pretty outraged in a Ghana-Uruguay thread 4 years ago. The words "cnut" and "despicable" were even uttered. Only difference between Suarez back then and now is he's now a Liverpool player.

Balotelli is sort of an idiot as well to be honest. He doesn't go around biting people mind, neither does any other footballer.

he has bitten players 3 times now, a long ban is warranted and needed, he has to be punished.
What would you give him a token 3 match ban, it should be a minimum 6 months worldwide ban

I LOLed at the reactions from Uruguay. The coach arguing that this is football, not a moral contest, 'these things happen' from suarez and Lugano calling Chielinni a snitch and a crybaby.

A good reminder to man up.

Oh come on, let's not be so paranoid.

Fifa would still make the cash, and the cash is already been made regardless if they fine Suarez or not. There's too many people watching for them to shrug this one off.

I agree they might be corrupt and all that, but to think that they would simply not fining him because they fear that Uruguay match will be watched less without Suarez... is a joke.

The TV deal has been paid long before and I don't think Suarez or no Suarez will change anything.

The clue is in the bias. That picture concludes nothing. No evidence he tried to bite him in that picture. You can probably screen grab a lot of incidents thank make them look something they're not.

Bloody hell, isn't yesterday enough? Inventing past crimes is just the cherry on the cake for some.
  You guys are beyond pathetic. Funny how you people can try to hide behind 'not enough evidence' thing when there is no doubt to anyone what has happened.

On the other hand, this has also been an opportunity for Danny Mills to demonstrate he is barely sentient:

"It has to be the longest ban in football ever. A worldwide ban, not just an international ban.

"These are exceptional circumstances and they must be able to ban him worldwide for this. It is the third time it has happened and it is a clear bite this time, in a tournament of this magnitude, the most watched tournament in the world. I am sorry but they have got to throw him in jail and lock him up for ever."

Pretty sure Liverpool employ one who has worked with Suarez. Steve something or other.

It has been a great success.

I would be surprised if Fifa threw the book at him and even if they did I would expect Suarez to take it to the CAS.
If he does you guys will be lighting candles and writing poetry about what a wonderful person he is. YAWN and all that bollocks.

To be fair, the Fifa probably won't handle anything major, probably a 15 match ban at most. But the repercussion this event did on LS16 is beyond repair. It could have been 5, 10, 15, a year, 2 years, it doesn't matter. His life won't be the same after this

So if he gets a 2 years ban or even 12months. Can Liverpool terminate his contract if they wanted to. Doubt they'll get anything they would have gotten earlier in the year.
Journos are saying the ban is unlikely to carry over into the league.

Banning him for that long would do exactly what you've said Fifa won't want.

Why are people related to Suarez standing up for Suarez's intolerable actions? For example Gaston Ramirez trying to cover Chiellini's shoulder? Lugano defending him on the press? Liverpool players wearing Suarez shirts to "support" him during his racism row with Evra? Those are the kinds of things that made Suarez feel like a spoiled prima donna who feels that he is a victim in every conceivable situation.

I have said this before in this thread several times, he needs to be banned from football next season and be asked to use that time to seek mental therapy.

You're joking right?

Balotelli jumped up to head the ball, the defender was still anticipating it, you can see Balotelli's head still following the flight of the ball even after he jumps and misses. It was a footballing incident not worth more than a yellow card - which he got.

To be honest most of FIFA's money comes from Europe so banning Suarez would have only a miniscule effect on their income, if any at all.

Could there be any legal conflict in banning a player for a long term and the right of said player to earn a living in his trade?

I'm asking from absolute ignorance, but I think Fifa has had trouble in the past with 'player's rights to make a living' and their own internal laws.

Almost every Liverpool supporter is thick. Is that even worth asking? I always felt a certain mental unstability, victim mentality and being a total deluded fool are some of the pre-requisites for being Liverpool fan. To their credit most of them I come across strengthen this generic blanket assessment of theirs.

My 2 cents. FIFA is an assosiation, they're not bound by many things. The World cup is their event, they can refuse entry, allow entry, etc.

Just like a club, they can refuse entry to certain player or countries they deemed fit

EDIT: just like if you're not invited to a party, you can't really complain of discrimination (although the global stature of FIFA will make sure they do everything fair and open, but i don't think officially they owe anything to anyone)

He was offered psychiatric help after the Ivanovic incident but turned it down. He sees nothing wrong in what he does, so psychiatric intervention won't help.

Of course there is faux outrage when people are suggesting lifetime bans and so forth.

What he did was bad. but mostly far more weird and incomprehensible than it was abominable, in comparison to your average legbreaker, headbutt and such.

He should be punished, more severely too given that it's the third time and it's at the bleedin world cup, but that does not in any way rule out people also getting their knickers too much in a twist, cf Danny Mills above.

It has to be forced, then. If he sees nothing wrong (according to what you said) with a common assault and repeatedly does it then he's clearly mental.

I personally think everyone is over reacting. Over reacting in his defence and in his prosecution. Idiots claiming he's done nothing and it's a media frenzy around him need to grow up and accept that he is a dirty player, who, when he gets frustrated (especially when dealing with markers), reacts in dirty tactics, horrendous tackles, high kicks, biting and racist remarks. Long term bans are also over the top here. Personally I think a 2 match international ban would suffice and it be made clear that this is a result of not just this but his previous events all of which except the biting seems to have been forgotten. It would leave Uruguay in no doubt that he obtained the ban for his actions and would result in that national team losing their best player for the knock out rounds. It would place the blame solely on Suarez and would hopefully drive the point home into that head of his that it's not acceptable. All this he has psychological problems is also the biggest load of horse shit as well. He does it to affect the game not because he suffers from a physical, chemical, or cognitive disorder.

I think we dodged a 50m pound bullet here.
Would you pay £50m to have won the league?

What? He's been working with Dr Steve Peters all season and has been kept in check up until now.

Yes, because it's seen as so unusual as a human being to bite someone and biting isn't part of boxing nor is it football. But punching someone will more often then not do a lot more damage then biting someone. They draw the line in kicking eachother in the nuts also, and spitting, and hair pulling.
I would rather be Kung foo kicked than bitten. What's it got to do with pain? Would you rather be slapped around the face or spat on on your face? I know which I would rather.

Force doesn't work. If you don't accept you've done wrong no psychiatrist in the world can help you. All it would do would be to further strengthen his sense of injustice at being punished for no reason.

This is a weird British thing. You are not normal to think like this.
