Would be funny after all the crying the babies on here did about how quick and decisive Chelsea were being this summer compared to us.
I still expect this to happen, Costa is similar to Suarez (minus the biting and racism) every good player, but he'll rub people in England up the wrong way.

They only quote newspaper stories. They dont have stories of their own. Some newspapers are subscription only, so easier to get stories this way.
No I get that, I like accounts like these, Sports Witness for example. I'm just curious to see whether they are legit or not. A lot of people just put [MARCA] [Times] etc at the end of tweets to make their tweets look more credible.

I don't think they were cry babies, they just feared the worst. Considering last year, why shouldn't they?

What is really boring, are those that with hindsight are prepared to preach from the moral high ground. Chelsea will be a force to reckon with, make no mistake.

Would be a very stupid move considering how incredible Di Maria has been in midfield.
Buying for the sake of buying. I don't even think they need Kroos when Modric and Alonso are capable of dictating play to great effect anyway. Gustavo would be a good signing from a defensive perspective with Alonso on the wane and Khedira struggling following a long-term injury, as well as his future up in the air.

The Twitter thread is no place for such level headed, sensible opinions! Vidal or nothing!

But seriously, yeah I agree. Not mad on Vermaelen but if LVG feels he's the perfect fit then so be it. I would only imagine he feels he can get more out of Jones, Smalling and Evans though as Vermalen will most likely get injured!

in terms of what he has done with the Dutch team i reckon thats a case of needs must with the players available to him. Hopefully he is not under too much restriction with who he brings to United.
That would be the biggest worry. We already have three centre backs who have suffered an inordinate amount of injuries over the years, so to bring in a player who is even more of a crock whilst not that great would be a big gamble. I think we should target an experienced defender in his prime, seeing as all our three are a long way off theirs or still approaching it and perhaps Vermaelen meets LVG's criteria. I expect him to be quite meticulous with his transfer business, because the team is the most important in the end and we can't afford to make mistakes in the market this off-season.

He's certainly played within himself with the Dutch set-up and he knows the weaknesses in the team, so he's ensured it doesn't get exposed. For all the talk of him playing one way prior to the tournament, it's good to see he's very adaptable even if it goes against his principles; winning is the number one priority. With our potential squad however, he will be able to express his philosophy more and be more attack-minded which he's associated for at Ajax, Barca, etc.

How are these players agreeing personal deals with the potential new club? Don't you need permission from the present club to talk to the player?
You'd be very naïve to think clubs don't sort out these details with the player in advance. They're not supposed to but they obviously do. We do exactly the same as well. After all, Moyes spent a lot of last season telling us he had been speaking to loads of top class players who were dying to come here. That's tapping up too, isn't it?

You can be concerned without propagating a myth about how great Chelsea are in the market. That's what grates and why people have every right to point it out.

If the paper is the mouthpiece of Juventus then the article suggests to me the club want to spark a bidding war.

Vidal would be as old as Yaya Toure when he came to the EPL and look what impact he had over the last 4 years. Get it done

If given a choice I think we'll go with Carvalho. Cheaper, younger and hasn't just played a World Cup with a dodgy knee

But Vidal is the end product and one of Europe's elite midfielders. Carvahlo would be much riskier.

So we could buy a player in his prime and considered one of the best midfielders in the World. Or we could go for a young kid who might become a very good player but is horribly over valued.

I really hope we go for Option 1. We need some players in their prime, not more youngsters.
