Another placed right in the corner, this time from Rooney. That drill Van Gaal had the lads doing, practicing placing the ball around the side of the keeper, has paid off.
Surely seems that they are quite not used to the system, being so far forward, etc. Will be exciting to see how they, Shaw particularly, adapts to it, though!

great precision penalty from Rooney. He still needs to up his performance as he is competiting with Welbeck, Van Persie and maybe Hernandez for a starting spot under Louis Van Gaal

i don't think fletcher has been too bad. few loose touches but for me they've been clearly down to a bit of rust and a lack of match fitness. entirely understandable.
valencia has grown into the game more in the last 10 minutes as well. working well defensively.

Shame Welbz was offside there. Herrera held the ball up well a couple of times and the clipped pass was the right choice.
He probably practiced them endlessly for the world cup and then never had need to take one.
