I love LVG, but his comments about DiMaria are either a function of his bad English or a very serious injury that he is playing down. There are two conditions that I can think of that cause the pelvis/hip to be in a wrong relation to the legs. This happens in either a hip fracture or a hip dislocation; both are nasty. After reduction or external fixation, rehabilitation usually takes 3 months. I hope it is his bad English. We need DiMaria back soon even though we are doing fairly well so far.

    Magical Manchester United.
I'd like us to go back to a back 4 for this game, providing Shaw is fit to start. Carrick, Valencia and Rooney in a midfield three, with Mata, RVP and Falcao upfront. Pretty sure LVG will go 3-5-2 again though, and Young doesn't deserve to be dropped. So it will (almost) be the same team that played against Newcastle, with Smalling probably coming in for McNair.

My best mate is a Spurs fan and thinks he is one of the best in the league. This opinion has only been enhanced by the fact Walker has not played much and they have had to endure Naughton and Dier there instead, who are both poor.
Just because Walker is better than Naughton and Dier doesn't make him quality.

Why are most Spurs fans I encounter so utterly delusional about their team? The last 10 seasons I heard them talk about how this is their time to overtake their arch rivals Arsenal and how they will set foot in the top 4 for years to come..... so far, from a Spurs perspective, it has been utterly disappointing.

Not many people realise it (because for the most part, nobody really cares about them) but you are completely correct. Spurs fans are utterly deluded... Even with 2 of the most influential players in Real's Decima winning team, they couldn't overtake us.

We will score first then try to slow down the game and keep possession, our back 4 will make a mistake while trying to play it from the back. Tottenham will score and game will end as a scored draw..

I'm sure if you are aware of these issues as a poster on a Man Utd forum, the professional medical staff would have some idea about it as well. Don't worry.

Oh and that guy becklington is clearly on a massive wum.

It will be a tough game though.

Last season we overtook you even without 2 of the most influential players in Real's Decima winning team.

Last season they overtook us when they didnt have either Bale or Modric. They have arguably improved since last season

Hopefully Evans doesn't shit himself being slightly pressed. Fellaini would have been useful cause we could use him as an outlet for when we get pressed with no immediate option. If they leave some space in the middle by trying to attack us we will score.

Would love to see a back four since Rafael is surely fit and Shaw traveled so he might get half an hour.

    ..............De Gea
    Rafael-Smalling-Jones-Young
    Herrera-Carrick-Rooney
    ............Mata
    .......Falcao-RVP

Doesnt Purist support Arsenal which means Spurs actually didnt over take them even without Modric and Bale? hmmm

I have a feeling this will end in a draw, but United need to score first to win this.

They were actually in a better position this time last year, whereas we are in a better position this year. So, we've improved and they've stagnated (wouldn't say regressed, it's been about the same).

I feel that Spurs will push on from a transitional season last season. They have a big and quality squad and i believe they will have a strong 2nd half to the season. The Yedlin RB addition looks useful too. Hoping Dembele doesnt play tomorrow.
I still think we have a chance to finish above them though when we get some of our injuries back and a more stability with the team.

I hate this fixture, home and away. Was at Old Trafford when they beat us 2-3 in 2012/2013. Bale had an absolute field day. Now watch Eriksen do it for them tomorrow.

    Dreading this.

Was at OT New Years day this year when they beat us 2-1. Dreadful performance.
Time to get our own back, although I've gone for a score draw

not what anyone wants to hear, but a draw would be a decent result there!

of course we need wins to keep the pressure on, but that's our hard luck for making such a balls up of that early run of easy games.

Tough one. I think they are a better side than they've generally shown this year, and that they will steadily improve and be a genuine threat to our top 4 aspirations in the 2nd half of the season. Our backline still looks shambolic when we play with a 3, but excellent forward play has been getting us the results we need. It will probably be high-scoring, and a draw would be an ok result.

What puzzles me with Spurs is their ability to win games where they have been outplayed for long periods of time. People talk about us against Southampton - but Spurs basically have long periods like that every game. I saw the first half against Hull - and how they were just 1-0 down at half-time, I can't possibly understand. Against Leicester - they were once again totally outplayed in long periods, and still managed to win.

In the last 10 games - 8 of them have ended up 1-2 or 2-1 :)

Stop Kane and Eriksen and we will win

They're only behind Newcastle fans when it comes to delusion. It never fails to baffle me how high the expectations are of those two teams' sets of supporters. You'd think they were winning one European Cup after another in the '80s and '90s. However, I don't get why people don't like games against Spurs, I think White Hart Lane is one of the best stadiums in the country.

Was talking with Spurs fans yesterday, they told me that Lloris is the best goalkeeper in the league or at least equal to DDG, who is overhyped. They also told me United would get slaughtered.. Not the first time I've heard strange things from that camp.

I went there beginning of October to see them play southampton, atmosphere was fecking shocking and was a cnut to get to the ground. Spurs fans were silent until they scored just before half time then silent again till the final whistle. Was disappointing

I will wager that Spurs throw the kitchen sink at us for the first 10-15 minutes. We will counter and score. They will get more frustrated as they then chase shadows as our confidencd builds. We will score again before half time.
Second half Spurs regroup, we try and kill the game. Spurs will score. Game becomes cat and mouse we walk home with 3 points.

That's what I have, 2-2, but really interested to see if Utd can walk the walk two days after another match, on the road, against a club that always plays them tough. Really looking forward to this one.

I would like to hear what GlastonSpur has to say about this match. I hope that he is predicting a spurs win as that would mean a comfortable united win judging from his previous guesses the gormless prat.

Hopefully Smalling is ready to begin instead of McNair. Otherwise I think it will be the same team that started against Newcastle.
Smalling, Evans, Jones always take a few games to climatise.

Fair enough! But I think you could say the same about most grounds couldn't you? My remark about White Hart Lane was more about its design, it has a special something to it for me but I may be in the minority here.

Captain obvious here - if we manage to find a good balance between our attack and defence, no doubt we will win comfortably. My worry is that our players are not use to the "philosophy" they try so hard to play from the back or keep ball possession they end up shooting themselves in the foot. That's why I think it will be a draw but then if we "click" as a team then happy Sunday

we have been playing shit recently tbf, and have to admit we have been very lucky apart from the newcastle game. If Spurs are on form it will be an easy home win.

You've been poor and lucky, Spurs have been shite and very lucky.
No not at all. Just trying to open the eyes to those who think this will be an easy away win.
Both teams have had there share of luck. Just reminding those who say it will be a walk over that we havent beaten them our last 4 meetings. There will be easier games than this even though we will probably still finish above them.

    I remain optimistic.

1-3 FT. Wayne, Robin and Radamel each scoring. Not sure, however, which Tottenham, player will score. Could be an own goal by Evans.
