Mata did well yesterday, but has been really poor in away games and I expect Spurs to want to put pressure on us tomorrow, so probably not an ideal game for him. Hope Herrera is fit.

A lot rides on this game this for both clubs. If Spurs win we close the gap to United to just 2 points and - depending on the results in the S'hampton v Chelsea and W.Ham v Arsenal games - could move into the top 4. If United win the gap grows to 8 points, which would be hard to bridge thereafter.

I wouldn't settle for a point in advance if offered.

    Neither would any of us.

I'm expecting the same team as yesterday, with Mata perhaps dropped to the bench.

Hopefully Smalling is ready to begin instead of McNair. Otherwise I think it will be the same team that started against Newcastle.

Thing is, Mata deserves to start based on his last outing, but literally all of us can foresee him being shit, it being an away game and all. It may seem unjust, but I think it would be best to drop him.

    Must win game!!!

Arsenal are playing West Ham, Chesea are playing Southampton and we are playing Spurs, we need to pick up the 3 points.

I can see spurs extending their dominance over us again tomorrow. They have more quality in their team than us and we have to stop them from playing or we'll get battered.

Not really if you look at the facts... we only got 1 point off of them in the last 2 seasons + the only notable quality addition playing for us tomorrow to the team that finished 7th last season is Falcao.

I take it that you have simply forgotten that we have changed our manager? Otherwise

This is true, big differend. Just saying we need to be a little more cautious with this fixture and concentration levels need to be high. They have the potential to hurt us as much as we do them.

Care to highlight where this step up in quality is?
Granted, I don't think the game will be as easy as some have made out, but there is nothing to suggest United can't win this, likewise, Spurs. I don't buy this more quality statement.

Guys could somebody post injury update? Herrera, Fellaini, Di Maria etc.
Herrera, Di Maria, and Shaw all possibly fit for tomorrow, but unlikely any will start. May see one or two on the bench if we're lucky. Shaw has travelled to London at least.

Fellaini and Januzaj both out until after new year's day game against Stoke most likely.

Rojo and Blind at least two weeks away I think.

We have quality but they have a quality goalkeeper in Loris, centreback Vertongen, Walker at RB.
Agreed their midfield is puny and should get overrun with Carrick and Mata pulling the strings. But upfront they also have Eriksen and the new prodigy Kane who for me the jury is still out on, but who still continually seems to find the net.

Sounds like Di Maria is out judging by his post match comments. Blind, Rojo, Fellaini and Januzaj out too. No mention of Herrera so unsure on him and Shaw has travelled.

I only expect one or two changes. Smalling in for McNair and Rafael possibly in for Valencia.

I had a hard time submitting a lineup for this one, ended up with:

    De gea
    Jones Smalling Evans
Rafael - Herrera Carrick - Young
    Rooney
    Falcao Van Persie
Herrera seems unlikely (Late fit test on Physioroom) but I would pick him over Mata for this game simply because he has a better engine and works deeper than Mata.

If only we had as much quality. How we dream of a team of 11 Walkers :(

 Walker is gash, Vertongen is hit and miss and has mistakes in him.
Valencia is a better right back then Kyle Walker

My best mate is a Spurs fan and thinks he is one of the best in the league. This opinion has only been enhanced by the fact Walker has not played much and they have had to endure Naughton and Dier there instead, who are both poor.
Walker is a bit sh!t. Yedlin is the future.

Falcao has probably been lying awake at night wondering how he could miss all those great crosses from Young.

Expect him to score those tomorrow.

Apart from this I've been delighted with his play. Agressive, great team work with RVP, fantastic assist for Rooney.

Is there a single Spurs player that would get in our team? Vertonghen perhaps and he's even a bit suspect. People raving about Kane and Eriksen, but we have 3 of the best strikers in World football plus Juan Mata and hopefully Di Maria for this one.

Spurs are shit, have to be winning this. Even Liverpool won their fixture there 3-0

Kane isn't even that good. He's a very straight forward player and plays without fear of failure - that I give him. Talent wise, however, he's not special at all.

If we were that good and they were that shit then we would have beaten them at least once in the last 4 games. The facts dont lie.
