I think we've lost six out of the last eight against City and the last three against them at Old Trafford.

Yea, I think Valencia is without doubt the "weakest link" right now in the first XI. For all his pace and strength he just doesn't seem to be consistent enough to not be replaced sooner rather than later. He seem to have a habit of making brain farts just like against Arsenal, and I just don't trust him enough for games like this.

I hope that I am proved wrong and that he performs against City, for he will almost certainly be starting anyway. I would also like to see Young since I trust him doing his job, however I am a bit worried that he is physically too weak to handle Citys' offense. I agree with you that I would prefer someone else in that RB position, but I don't think it is something LvG will be willing to gamble on. However, that may certainly be something that comes back to bite us in the rear next weekend..

No, I don't think LVG will drop Val either, he seems a bit fan. I just hope we get a real right back next season.

Talking bout Young being hardly useful for crossing, what does Fellaini offer us when he is not chesting or heading the ball.
He keeps some opposition players busy which helps our team to create more chances.

But he does, on the left wing anyway. Him being to cut inside and sometimes change to the other gives him more options when playing on the left. On the right he doesn't have enough variety about his game (just like Valencia) to cause pbs.

That's probably spot on. I think Demichelis will be suspended - he got 5th yellow against Palace, but not sure that's a good thing - Mangala is the better player in my opinion.

If they play like that then I think we will win. Overwhelm the midfield with Herrera, Fellaini and Carrick.

What city struggle against? Is possession teams. If city are playing the same midfield, much like Liverpool we can overrun them, we have built this possession game that is becoming extremely hard to play against, and teams are finding it hard to take the ball off us. So if we continue this vein of form, we could pin city back for quiet allot of the game.

Not only are we keeping the ball, we also have that physical side to our game is well, in the form of fellaini. It depends what mindset we are in, keep that intensity up, keep the balance in our system, and we can really give city a horrible 90 minutes, but city now up against it, could be a dangerous team to play. But they are there for the taken. But we have had a habit of red cards against the mob, but I think we re far better drilled than before, hopefully. It will be typical if we have that glass jaw, and lose the damn game

I look at city, a cycle of their's is coming to an end, and we are seeing a new cycle of ours starting to happen. Like I say, our style of play is something city hate to play against, because their main guys like toure and aguero are not getting enough of the ball, and that becomes a problem for them if we continue this reign of form
