Hunter seems certain that he's off, saying that he's told Real he's made up his mind. Still can't see it but it would be a bloody monumental signing.

The bit about only wanting to come to United is great news, if true. A real fillip to our image and a kick in the backside to the 'we're way down the pecking order now' crowd, of which there are too many on the Cafe.

Well if this is true then it certainly puts us in a very strong negotiating position.
We've made a bid that the player thinks is his true value, he is desperate to leave and only wants to come to United. Wonder if Woody will just sit on his original bid and see who budges first...

Wasn't Hunter the guy who said we were going to sign Thiago?

I don't see Blatter coming out asking Madrid to let Ramos go free, like he did when Madrid wanted Ronaldo. We were keeping poor old Ronny against his will. That is if Ramos really wants to leave Madrid. As for De Gea, I would stick with the price we have set and not go a penny under it. If Madrid are not willing to pay the price then I would keep De Gea another season. It will soon become apparent that Real have no patience. Either make them Fork up and pay or get lost.

That number on the bid is very specific. There must be something in it.

Hunter is no different. I can't believe how everyone forgets. Remember the Thiago fiasco?
Tbf he never said that Thiago to United was a done deal. He just said that up to a point in time Thiago had Utd as number 1. Pep then stepped in and demanded Bayern to get him which finished off our interest.

Woodward is fantastic. Bids 32 million last week. Gets rejected, so lowers the bid this week.

Hold your horses? I know Graham Hunter is a good journalist who covers Spanish football but how good is his ties to Madrid and Ramos?

Really hope it's true, Ramos is a leader we need to be great again

When you add the De Gea angle to this it all is just so hilarious, you have two Spanish internationals one of whom has been at Real Madrid for a decade and has now fallen out with them (read wants more money) & is pushing for a move to United and then you have a player who has been with us for 4 years and has grown from being a top prospect to being one of the best in the world and he is pushing for a move to Madrid even though we are ready to make him the best paid keeper in the world.

Sid Lowe is reporting the same thing now. Hunter and Lowe must have been briefed by the same people today.

So what is it fellas, where you lying last week or are you lying this week?

Or, do they simply know feck all.
