Would be a good signing - quick, strong and evidently a hardworker - exactly what we need in a forward. If he was playing for a slightly more fashionable contintental club then most of you would be moist.
Reminded me of Welbeck :nervous:

Sigh will have to move him out of my FF if we get him. He will be rotated too much

With all the United fans not wanting him, and the Southampton fans not wanting him to go, I'm sure we will sign him. I have a feeling Woody thrives on hate
He should read this forum so.

Hmmm when i translated this post from gibberish i think i get that you are disagreeing with me.

first of all, I don't troll, second of all i don't blindly trust LVG....i do trust him, just not blindly. for example when we were so sure we were in for Clyne, i did not want. in my opinion i think that Pedro would have added something extra to our attacking line, but LVG didn't want to proceed with that for whatever reason, it isn't a case of blindly trusting him, it's a case of there being feck all we can do about it. Instead it appears we are in for Mane.

Do i think Mane will add something? (pace, creativity) yes i do. is he young enough to be moulded and benefit from our excellent training facilities to add consistency to his game? yes i do. So what exactly is the problem with this potential signing? is it because he doesn't play for one of the wankable clubs in europe? because the point i made in my first post was that he has the attributes that the fans have been saying all summer that we need, but for some reason he is getting such a negative reaction.

Also, you should probably find a way of realising that anger, your passive aggressive post probably isn't healthy.
I enjoy my passive aggressive anger, I'm told It gives me smouldering charm :D

No problem with your response which is reasoned. What you posted however was a mockery of concerned fans whose club have just lost out on a top player and subsequently been linked with, well, if we're being generous is a player with potential and then told them to get a grip and trust the manager.

Despite what you may want to believe it's quite likely Pedro simply chose Chelsea and LvG has gone down the list. It's certainly not self-evident enough to mock people and until the truth comes out people are well within their rights to be disappointed.

As it happens I never thought we'd get Pedro I thought he'd stay at Barca, think we'd all have proffered that now :D

If he is played as a RW or backup striker, I'd be delighted to have him. His pace alone scares opponent and keeps them aware send occupied. He's even lightening with the ball at his feet.

Sounds like someone who it would be good to have as an option but probably wouldn't get in to our first team. Considering Saints paid £10m and he had a good season, he'd cost quite a lot for a rotation player.

Mane had a slow start for Southampton for last season, but from Boxing day onwards, he scored 9 and assisted 2 in only 19 games. Mostly from left wing.

That's decent end product by almost anyone's standards. Maybe LvG wants Memphis back in the middle and Mane on the left.

I wouldn't be surprised. I have no idea what his logic is but he did seem quite fond of the idea.

we've been made to look like a mickey-mouse club in the last few weeks. we've been bullied into selling ADM by a greedy agent, our player of the year doesnt want to play for us, we cannot get any of our main targets (bar Scheinderlin) and then somehow lose out on Pedro who have already agreed to join us subject to us agreeing a fee with Barca, and now we are raiding a mid-table club...

How were we exactly 'bullied into selling ADM'.
How do we look as a mickey mouse club cause DDG wants to play for Madrid.
We bought Memphis, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Darmian..

All the transfers so far this summer look like they are working out really well. Depay, Schneriderlin, Scheweinsteiger and Darmian all looking really great for us.
But just the idea of signing Mané and suddenly United are a joke of a club.

Christ, I think some people need a sense of perspective or else just give up on football. They'll never be happy.
When on earth did I say we were a joke of a club?

If you completely make up the argument that you're arguing against of course you're going to make it look ridiculous.

We've just sold our record signing for a loss and are looking at replacing him not with proven world class but a punt.

I know we did a lot of good work earlier in the summer, I've said as much frequently, that doesn't change the fact we're already showing we're going to struggle to score goals this summer and the one player we're apparently interested in isn't going to solve that. If that doesn't worry people when, apparently, our aim is to win the title this season I don't really know what else to say.

Is it just me that thinks this could be a good deal? He's lightening quick and the more that I think about it the more excited I get.

OK he's not a top class proven player but he could be one day? His pace will terrify defenders more so than Pedro. He's skillful with a good goals record last year. Plus he can play a variety of positions.

Exactly, Chelsea, Madrid and City didn't waited this week to sign Kovacic, Otamendi and Pedro.
We have needed a striker all window, Otamendi has been holding out for a move all summer, Pedro was needed by Barca to play in Supercup matches & he 'had' an agreement with us until we apparently pulled out at last minute & reports in Spain suggest Kovacic has been bought because Benitez doesnt fancy Illarramendi hardly bad planning by the clubs involved. The strategy is non-existent, it was the same excuse when Fergie retired, they blamed Moyes coming into the job late, but tell me this, what other multi-million pound corporation would allow the chief executive & the general manager to leave at the same time without having continuity plans in place, its unheard of, well it was. Our chasing of Fabregas in the same summer was an embarrasment, as was the fee paid for Fellaini & Mata respectively - I know the Caf has a Woody love thing going on but really. Pissed off we have missed out on Pedro.

Have you seen him play? He is very inconsistent and lacks an end product. Looks a headless chicken out there.

Don't really get the point of this. If we wanted a pacey but brainless and inconsistent player for the right wing, then what the feck was wrong with Nani?
Of course I have, I have been impressed a lot of times with him. Sure he's not the complete package yet but that type of pace scares teams. He has
He could be our Douglas Costa.
people would have reacted the same after missing out on pedro, many people still didn't want him recently but now after his showings at bayern I bet they aren't saying that.

Some people are easily embarrassed. A manager can have second thoughts about a player and vise versa. However, the reality is most people just want us to sign that fecking player that we all know we need. That's all. Stop the fecking about. Stop the nonsense. If we're not in for Pedro? Don't drop his name into conversation. What's happened is exactly what LVG wouldn't have wanted. LVG needs to bring clarity to the situation and he can be a romantic all he likes, but the truth is we're a player or two short and we have no one to blame for the shite prices we've gotten for our players. We'd have been better off keeping Nani...

I'd be happy if he was Valencia replacement. If he can run fast in straight line with the ball he can't be any worse, has potential and can play multiple positions. Not a bad shout for a squad player I’d say.

Our problem is we wanted an instant improvement, not a squaddie.

fair enough, it's my opinion that Mane would do a better job for us in the system that we play then Pedro would, that isn't to say that i think Pedro is a bad player, nothing could be further from the truth, I just think that Mane offers more ticked boxes for what we are actually looking for (Pace, creative, workrate, ability to score) he's younger too.

I will admit that I reacted badly in my initial post, but i think that was mainly my surprise at what i saw as a massive over reaction in this thread, I think Mane would be a quality addition once he settles in.
