Schneiderlin and Bastian need to get more of a grip on this game, neither are leading the team like they should in the midfield. On top of that, We're looking at Young to produce everything for us.

As for Mata, he's a shadow of the player from his time at Chelsea. He's running around like he's in the last breaths of a marathon race, he doesn't look mobile enough. Added to the fact he's not putting enough on any of his chances.

Not good enough again, we've seen these players produce in the past so it's got to be the manager. If he feels this brand of football is total football, he's a nutcase.

Upgrades required during the January transfer window:

An upgrade on Rooney, who can still see the game but has lost the ability to do anything about it.

An upgrade on Mata, who's too physically weak to impose himself in this league.

An upgrade on Van Gaal, who cannot inspire his players.

To sum up the first half.....we are boring, slow and devoid of creativity, all those Herrera and Mata fans should hang their heads, they are awful so far, Rooney was frustrated after just 15 minutes and started to wander, Schneiderlin & Bastian are two players playing one role, we look vulnerable to the counter-attack and Smalling is on a needless yellow, only Young looking positive while Martial is not getting enough of the ball, unless something drastic happens (a Fergie hairdryer) then this has 0-0 written all over it.
That's it so far, perfectly illustrated. The thing is, the script writes itself at this point. This could apply to any number of games this season (with some slight adjustments, depending on the starting 11). It's flat out boring and uninspiring, and should be unacceptable.

Not good enough. We are only on par because the referee was soft on Schneiderlin's hand ball. We have done absolutely nothing to warrant being ahead. A few half chances from headers, nothing more. Swansea's one touch football has been much better than ours. Whereas Swansea's looking for quick counters, everything about United's play is slow and laboured. Swansea has rarely looked threatened. We simply do not look like winning.

We seem to be playing 3-6-1 and yet have no midfield to speak of.
Rooney is the only player ahead of the ball 90% of the time, very few runs past him.
And were struggling to get the ball out of defence. Just a really poor half

Even Fergie was caught texting on his phone halfway through the first half.

The football we are playing is absolute shite. Get rid of LVG already before we fail to qualify for top 4. He isn't even here for the long term ffs.

    Mourinho or Pep. Giggs caretaker.

    Two shots on target

We need to get Young out of right back and further up field. Darmian on for someone.

at what point does Woodward think this tumescent football is actually damaging the "brand" of United? Surely the far eastern market they love so much would much rather watch Man City and the like?

All. Of my nephews, nerves and younger friends support other teams. The rot has already started. Our ability to attract the younger generation has already started to fade. Woodward and the board have their heads firmly up their assets.

Maybe he will "Sack himself" after this match like he said he can do if he thinks he's out of ideas.

This isn't entertainment. It isn't sport. It isn't worth spending money on.

What is the ultimate goal of this style of football? If we win the treble winning every match 1-0 playing football like this along the way would people be actually happy?

I was sat in the room while my missus was watching the Kardashians the other day. I'm not joking when I say it was less shíte than this.

Yeah, because booing has always had a good effect

I love the idea that the players won't know that 0-0s and defeats aren't good unless 75,000 or so people boo them.
Well obviously our board and manager do not know it. Also I don't fecking care whether it has a good effect. This team under LvG has no hope anyway, so show them how you feel. I can't acutally believe this. Ppl pay stupid money for those horrorshows but are too lazy or stupid or embarrassed to show some emotion?

Whether we lose or draw this surely, surely, the silver lining has to be LVG getting the sack?

    Surely?!

We badly need a CF with pace. Not one pushed out wide. Rooney is doing ok today but we seriously need some competition for him.

    Jesus fecking Christ...

The lack of urgency and general attacking quality in this side is an embarassment.

You consider not booing the team not caring much??? Lol...
Of course. And feck caring about the team. It's about the club. And if the current set up is heading towards a wrong direction that takes the club absolutely nowhere it should be shown. It's not rocket science.

So many times I've thought our team looked strong before a match and then it starts and there's just nothing.

Without a change of manager and coaching staff I just don't see us playing any swashbuckling football at all

We actually couldn't have picked an easier run of fixtures over the past month. Unbelievable how badly we are doing against such abysmal opposition.

I've not seen our full backs go past our wingers once. What the feck is Martial meant to do 2 vs 1 on him? It's simple attacking football, switch the play and overload the wing. Remember when Rooney used to ping the ball out to Valencia and Rafael was busting a gut to get past him? Valencia beats the man or plays in Rafa - get a cross into the box. Simple but effective.

Same old story so far. In control, minimal chances (if any real ones) but no goals. Rooney is at least looking more lively I guess.
