Taking Fellaini off was a mistake. He was playing really well and breaking Chelsea up. But we let them back into the game by dropping deep and not pressing high as we did earlier on. They put us under tremendous pressure for the last 10 minutes when we couldn't get out of our own half, and when we did, we gave the ball away. We should have taken all three points. Disappointing.

When we attack it's a football version of someone with a stutter. We go at pace, we stop, check back, wait for runners to join, then move again by which time all momentum is lost.

We haven't got a modern day Kanchelskis who can suck a defender in, skip past and get us into positions of numerical advantage.

We aren't a top side by a long way.

Usually a draw at SB is a good result but can't help but feel frustrated that we didn't come away with the 3 points. First half was a bit disappointing but we played a great game in the second half and deserved to go in front. Unfortunately we didn't do enough to get the second and as Chelsea bought on Hazard and Pedro, it felt the game was slipping away from us. We could have held on but by the end there was only one team going to score a goal. Still, it was a good performance and we might have beaten most teams in the league today and we can count ourselves a little unlucky.

Mata and Rooney played very well up top and Darmian produced some of his early season form as well. Hopefully we can continue this run of form in future and especially during Europa League commitments. Unfortunately with Spurs and Arsenal winning it kind of leaves our top 4 hopes a bit ragged but hopefully one of them will capitulate and we can take it from there.

Some very positive signs but post goql we went to pieces. Or Chelsea turned it on. Either way a draw was fair in the end.

Martial, Rooney, Mata, Lingard, BJ, Carrick all excellent i thought. DDG also.

I do think we'll struggle for top 4, but i thought that before today. At least our performances are improving.

..because no matter how bad their season have been, we were up against a good bunch of players at their home. I did say we need to hold on better which means we need to play better but if I compare most of the matches since new year with those in December, I see improvement.
Anything would be an improvement on what we saw in December. Point is VG preaches possession but I have seen it countless times how we completely abandon that as soon as the opposition wants to get in the ball or are looking for a goal.

Gutted, deserved all three points.

Bad defending for their goal but you cannot excuse the way we surrendered possession & where! Disgusting. Professional footballer not being able to deliver a 10 yard pass under no pressure is just absolutely pathetic.

Fecking Chelsea, we really needed to win that. More clueless shite from LVG at the end too.

Herrera should be coming on for Lingard there, flood the midfield and Rooney/Martial on the counter are a good enough threat

I'm not sure why because it was one play, but that Depay misplaced pass to Morgan is the most furious I've been in a long time. Even before Costa scored.

Other than that, yeah we didn't deserve to win, not with how we played after we scored.

Was it against Southampton that Fellaini was taken off....moments later, they scored.
Same in this game: Fellaini was taken off...I think 10 minutes later they scored. Though today's goal was not from a set piece, so not sure if Fellaini would've made any difference.

Costa just has so much desire/passion and aggression to his game.

I never really expect us to win at SB. No matter what we do we seem to find ways to lose/draw.

Very poor reaction to going a goal up. This team isn't completely right mentally, and hopefully the next manager improves our mentality.

6 minutes injury time.
During those 6 minutes Chelsea scores, United make a sub, still he blows his whistle at 96:000000000000000000000000.

I like that our players have started shooting from outside the box, we didn't the first 18 months under LvG.
Yeah and we just happened to be looking to go on the break. Much like the first half when we were breaking near their half. Poor ref performance I thought.

Typical outcome at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea always seem to claw their way back into the game. Lucky bastards.

Gutted really - but chuffed we played well.

Struggling with how the commentators acknowledge that Costa is a c*nt, yet when he repeatedly drops like a sack of spuds at the slightest attention, there's no mention of him being a massive cheat*. I think they just went on about Smalling! COsta could have had 2 yellows for me over the 90, diving's meant to be a yellow? Mikkel should have gone for that studs up one on Carrick. Chuffed for Lingard though, Corker.

Ref played 4 of 6 mins added on there.

* File under the non-mentioning that Huth should have got a ban & not played yesterday

Jesus. Listen to Lingard and Mata talking like we've turned a corner.

A somewhat typical LVG match. We did well for long periods but didn't create much. Chelsea had plenty of chances and De Gea made some good saves. There are positives but we've been saying a lot of the same things for a while.

Feels like a loss. Gutted. Memphis should really take a long hard look at himself.
Agreed. Once again giving away the ball needlessly and you just knew they were going to come right back and score. Schneiderlin looked very bad too.

Why some of you call this a good performance I don't know.

We had a few good periords, not alot of good chances, long periods of pointless lateral passing and last 20 minutes we were absolutley shit with phatetic defending.

All that against a team that is currently 14th in the league and deservedly so because they were even more shit then we were.

Goodbye to top 4. LVg said if we win this it would be like a new start, but I think the reality is that if we didn't win this it would be the end. I give up, Premier League is over for us. We have been playing relegation style football since december and we are getting the results to match.

Terrible manager, terrible players (apart from a few exceptions), terrible team altogether. Don't know why I still bother to watch them, feels pure waste of my time.

Shaken, and very stirred......
Oh wow, I just so thought we were going to beat them. Very deflated to concede that late. Dempay made such a stupid pass.....why oh why didn't he go to the corner flag, it's basic.

Words cannot adequately describe the frustration. I changed the channel after the Chelsea goal. There's just no point anymore.

Season over.

Good performance again so credit where it is due.

This reminds me of when LVG started out and we played nice football, but the issue was how we reacted when we went a goal up. The lads have looked confident and vibrant the last few days but today looked scared to play after the goal.

Tha said we are playing way better, we have a young team and 2 manchester kids in the 11, playing an unbeaten chelsea under hiddink and for me looked like the better team. Would have been delighted with 1-0 if we hung on, can't be too sad with 1-1 even though we played well enough to win it more comfortably

In fairness, you can't expect much from Depay. However bad he plays, I never get upset over Depay, simply because he is a terrible player (for us).

Can't see we deserved a win, tbh. DDG saves & the pressure after we had scored.

Fellaini should stay on if possible for the height, obvs.

Would have taken a draw before & reasonably happy with it now.

We deserved that. We were absolutely horrendous from the minute we scored. Gave away free kick after free kick and didn't even bother trying to get out of our half. Absolutely brainless. Top 4 is gone now, we won't make up 6 points from any of the teams above us.
Top four is hardly gone. We've still to play Arsenal and Spurs and the former has Leisester up next.

Once Chelsea subbed on Pedro and moved Terry and or Ivanovic up front, United were too wide and camped in their own half, but it was too wide with only two central midfielders.

Switching to a narrow 433 would have been find and you can understand playing on the counter, but United just punted it up the pitch. And the one time Memphis had to do anything of note, instead of picking up his head and seeing Morgan's run into space and squaring it, he does a nice back pass to Courtouis.

Memphis gives up possession, Blind is baited off the line and slips, CBJ is caught playing everyone onside, etc.

For the most part it was a god game.

Pleased for Jessie, Zoumas injury looked rough.
Yea, he would have fecked the cartilage in his knee, serious miniscus damage and the break, feck knows where / how the bone broke. If it's the top of the bone his career is over.

All right performance but it feels like top 4 is gone with that stoppage time goal. We are definitely not catching Leicester by the looks of it and we will find it difficult to catch any of the remaining three. We need to treat Europa League seriously and maybe gain entrance through there.

Fair result to be honest. A draw at the Bridge is a very good result as well.

Frustrating, though, I have to admit.
