Jeez the reactions are a bit excessive. TFM playing his first start and a midfielder in CB too. Our defence is going to be a bit shit. Although we should have attacked better.

This is happening because Watford are pressing us when we have the ball and when we get in their half they park the bus. What needs to happen is we need to get that few quick passes from our half into theirs and get on the break- the players need to be sharper in their passing so we can get out of our half and score. If that happens Watford will be unsettled, they won't park the bus when we are in their half and they'll be more open; allowing us to play a more attacking game and potentially get more goals.

This first half has been understandably shaky, Schneiderlin has been our best player along with De Gea (surprise). They just all need to calm down and think about what they are doing first. Perhaps it will help later on to get a midfielder on so that we can win the midfield battle, which could calm the game down and get us some ball time.

Two of them games were against Shrewsbury and some Danish part-timers. The anomaly is the fact that we played well for a couple of games, not the other way around.

To be fair: what can you expect from a defense consisting of Varela, Mensah, Blind and a Rojo that has been injured for ages?

Blind disappoints me. I've always felt that he was an underrated CB, but it's clear as day that he needs someone like Smalling to survive defensively.

Still think we can do much better in the second half with pretty much all the same players. They played a strong pressing game at a high tempo, which they shouldn't be able to do all match. If we get more time and space on the ball we should look a lot better, plus some of the players just need to start going for it a bit more. I'd be tempted to switch things around a bit up front, at least let Memphis and Martial try changing positions
