In fairness to Chevrolet they are spending an obscene amount of money on sponsoring us. If I were them I'd do the exact same because the very fact that were constantly moaning about it means that it is catching the eye as it is supposed to. Therefore they are probably getting more money from it.

Same shit every year. Everyone complains about how shit the jersey is. Then a couple of months go by and everyone starts saying Oh this jersey is growing on me.

Blue kit at home?! :houllier:

When was the last competitive match that we didn't wear red at Old Trafford? Has it ever happened before?
They can feck off with having us wear blue at Old Trafford. feck right off.
You're both joking, right? That's just the schedule of kit launch dates, it doesn't run in order of how the images appear to the right.

The text to the left says the away kit will be released first and the platform is the home game v Bournemouth.

It says we are going to 'launch' the kit when we play Bournemouth at Old Trafford. I assume the players will be wearing it.

Ahh, my bad! I thought you were thinking the blue kit was the home one

Yeah, that's a shoddy move. They probably wanted to wear it in the Cup final, but that isn't possible now we have Palace.

I seem to remember us playing Bayern or Barca at home in the Champions League group stage (treble season) wearing white.

I guess there was some sort of mix up with our opponents' kit that forced us to wear our away kit to avoid clashing.

I wish the white kit was our away, it's just so much nicer than the blue.

And the red, actually.

It was against Barca and I think - could be wrong - we wore white because it was decided that our red kit would clash with both their home and away kits. Seem to remember their away kit that season was orange.

Why though? Nike were lazy as hell when it came to our kits in the final years.

Eurgh, launching next season's kit this season. Was hoping we'd never follow that particular recent trend.

Does it really make a difference?

It's twelve months per kit no matter when it's released.

On the topic of next year's kits - the new badges are awful:

Not that it really matters but feck me that looks like shit.

Must have racked their brains for all of 2 minutes coming up with that design. Looks like a fecking Che Guevara t-shirt.

There was another game against Olympiacos or some other Greek side where we played in blue. I very clearly remember Veron at Old Trafford in blue.

If they got rid of the circle and the wording it would be somewhat passable
The circle is way too big, or the lion's too small. Either way the proportions just make it look empty as though it's a draft. Crap effort.

Yeah that EPL patch is shit, so is the new MLS ones. I don't mind the kit being released early, gives the Chinese more time to make a quality rep for the start of the season.

Spot on. In 2002.

Taken from the Guardian match report:

"United turned out in their blue away kit after the French referee Gilles Veissiere ruled a red stripe running down the side of the visitors' black shirts would clash with the usual home tops."

Yeh, it does a bit. Just feels a bit, I dunno, cheap. Blue at home too. Just all feels horrible.

Who cares if the kits are released early though? It's not like anyone is forcing you to buy one, and anyone who holds off buying one due to number changes/new players/players leaving are perfectly capable of waiting until Sept 1st.

This season's kits were released in August. They are binned off in May. How's that 12 months? The current white away kit will have been used for less than 40 weeks.

We wore white at home against barcelona in 1999, knockout stage, thats the only one that springs to mind.

In the past, we always used to change in cup competitions - white against AC Milan in 1969 for example. The rules changed at some point in the 70s, but over-zealous officials have had us change on a couple of European matches at OT in the last 20 years.

It's an adidas thing. They always do it! Nike never do
