Chiellini and Godin are better imo. He's not far behind at all though. He's the best CB in the world. Worth every penny. I really hope they don't get him.

What a strange opinion. Bonucci is one of the best center backs in the world and has been for a few years by now (only Godin and Boateng are clearly ahead of him) and the other two haven't showed anything close to his level. Chiellini is ridiculously overhyped as he spent almost all of his career in Juve.In my opinion, he's the 'worst' of the three Juve CB's, though obviously they're all outstanding.
Yeah, why would someone who has won the lame duck competition they are stuck in four times in a row want a new challenge?Yeah I really cannot see him moving from Juventus to City unless the lotto winners are offering him an obscene wage (ie. 350k+ a week).
Him and Chiellini are beasts though, so he's probably worth it.
Never knew you were his agent.Yeah, why would someone who has won the lame duck competition they are stuck in four times in a row want a new challenge?
Baffling logic. Of course, he will be attratced to a PL title push offer.
In fact City hate their center backs, hence they keep buying new ones.Lol. Some on this forum wanted to blow their top off when they thought Mkhitaryan was 29 and we were going to pay £34m. €60m for a 29 year old is excessive. City do love their CBs.
Yes in the pedestrian paced Serie A, it's a ripe old age to be thrown into the cut and thrust of English football. The pace of the game could shock him.29 is like 25 in Italian years.
Yeah yeah I know. I just think it's amazing how Italian footballers seem to play into their 50sYes in the pedestrian paced Serie A, it's a ripe old age to be thrown into the cut and thrust of English football. The pace of the game could shock him.
"Value" is meaningless here - they have the money and UEFA won't be enforcing FFP anytime soon. All the talk of wasted money in the Pogba thread, but £60 million for Bonucci is far worse value than Pogba at £100 in my opinion.
Yeh I personally think it's a good signing just having a go at all the people saying they don't want Pogba due to the price when it's quite clear that this Bonucci deal is far more ridiculously above market value."Value" is meaningless here - they have the money and UEFA won't be enforcing FFP anytime soon.
Kompany is often hurt, so in reality Bonucci would be the passer and leader the more athletic and tenacious but less clever Otamendi and Mangala need as a partner. Those 2 fight it out and maybe the loser leaves to flourish elsewhere. So they're going to have kompany, otamendi, mangala and bonucci. Something ain't right there.
He was. Barzagli was better than Bonucci too but but not anymore. Bonucci surpassed them last season.always thought Chelini was the best of the 3.
6 years playing in Serie A and for national team with basically same Juventus' players, as well as in most popular defensive formation consisting of 5 defenders. There is huge risk attached to that transfer especially considering his age and the kind of money involved.Would be a terrific signing for City. Presuming Kompany's injury woes don't disappear, having another top class CB will be invaluable for them.
Fair enough. Just kinda felt like everyone thinks he's the best CB in the world because of a sexy pass to Giaccherini havent really noticed much talk of him before that. was always Barzagli and Chellini. Hope they take him from Juve than ends up shite like the rest of their CBsHe was. Barzagli was better than Bonucci too but but not anymore. Bonucci surpassed them last season.
He is the new hipster favourite but it's not entirely baseless. Guardiola said this about him after the 2-2 draw in February:Fair enough. That pass to Giachherini definitely wasn't a one off...he does that all the time for Juve:“Did you really think we could come here and expect to dominate for 90 minutes against a side with Pogba, Mandzukic, Morata, Bonucci – one of my favourite ever players – Buffon and all these characters?"
Only when playing in chess football serie A, not in the PL29 is like 25 in Italian years.
Actually I believe you'll find that mine is an opinion held by many Juventus fans. Not many would agree with your opinion on who's better than him (in regards to Boateng and Godin, no mention of candidates such as Silva)... It's not an outlandish claim to make; I don't hold an opinion that's in the minority. Chiellini is immense, and the best of the three. They all complement each other brilliantly, and if you have a preference for ball players then sure, bonucci wins. Age is a big factor too; Bonucci is the only one who'd command such a high transfer fee, but that is beside the point. At the fundamental art of defending, the other two are above him. Again, if you read my initial comment, you'd see that I rate all three very highly. What a strange opinion. Godin's been a rock in the best defensive club side of the last few years and Boateng's probably the best ball-playing centre back in world football. Very few people would consider Chiellini on the same level as them, never mind better.Actually I believe you'll find that mine is an opinion held by many Juventus fans. I find it funny that you call my opinion "strange", then make what many themselves would consider a strange opinion in return. Got your blinkers on?
Great post. I see lot of arrogance among posters here.Underrated in here a bit.
1) He is Juve's best CB and one of the top 3 in the world
2) I was under the impression Juve played a back 4 under Allegri
3) He will suit Peps system down to a tee
4) I think people vastly overrate the physicality of the league and the pace of English football.
Personally, I think this refusal to accept tactics and planning over chaotic, mindless fast paced football is a large part of why we are struggling as a nation in football.
