Di Maria's angel
Captain of Moanchester United
I have been hugely critical of him, but hes been immense recently. Credit where its due.
You do realise this is a Valencia thread. Im only going to comment on Valencia in here.Even though I know you thought he played well I still have issue with your post.
Shaw does this a lot too. Every full back/footballer does this. Stop with the double standards
It's not recently. It's just that people have finally realised he capable as a right back. I hope this continuesI have been hugely critical of him, but hes been immense recently. Credit where its due.
You are saying you are frustrated by him doing that. All I'm saying is if you are frustrated by him doing it, you should if Shaw does it.You do realise this is a Valencia thread. Im only going to comment on Valencia in here.
Of course I know Shaw does this (not to the extent Valencia does it) but it kinda illustrates a point im making.
Valencia has the ability to do something as he showed with the winning goal hence why a lot of our players went over to him when Ibra scored.
I actually said it frustrated people as in within the stadium, people were groaning when he had a chance. You are saying you are frustrated by him doing that. All I'm saying is if you are frustrated by him doing it, you should if Shaw does it.
I'm only saying this because its continually used against him like he's the only one that does it for some unknown reasonI actually said it frustrated people as in within the stadium, people were groaning when he had a chance.
but regardless, your post is mad. It would be like you posting in the Rooney thread saying "I hate when he gives the ball away" and then me jumping on you "well, Fellaini does it as well, so stop the double standards".
So is it not a valid criticism for Valencia in a Valencia thread, considering he continually does itI'm only saying this because its continually used against him like he's the only one that does it for some unknown reason
Of course it's not a valid criticism. Everybody does it. It just a pass.So is it not a valid criticism for Valencia in a Valencia thread, considering he continually does it
But when he doesnt, and he goes back to old school crossing, we score?
wait he said that... ... it's funny because it's trueTweet

100 percent accurate. Mourinho reprogramming Tony and removing 'philosophy' from his mind will make a massive difference. I don't think many fans realise how harmful Moyes and Van Gaal's safety first football has been. Valencia's transformation shows what can happen when our squad is given license to take risks.Tweet

It isn't that, they have just had two years of being brainwashed by Van Gaal. It'll take time for them to stop passing sideways.Even today a few times in the first half he could have crossed a couple times more.
Our wide players are so used to having no threat in the box we hardly cross. We need to get it in our brains we've got a 6'5 monster in the box
Even before LVG look at Moyes, we crossed loads but never had a genuine threat apart from fellaini. Now we've got somebody who can actually take advantage of that, if the right cross comes in of course. It isn't that, they have just had two years of being brainwashed by Van Gaal. It'll take time for them to stop passing sideways.
This. And this is why I think selling Januzaj is a mistake. Messi and Ronaldo would have looked lost under LVG.Valencia is the first bit of proof that just because certain players were shite previously, doesnt mean they will be going forward. I hope we get the same out of the likes of Schneiderlin and Herrera. Those two need positivity desperate put back into their game.
What a ridiculous statement. If an 18 year old striker having his debut season and a 20 year old carrying our attack can look immense, to claim Messi and Ronaldo wouldn't is criminal.This. And this is why I think selling Januzaj is a mistake. Messi and Ronaldo would have looked lost under LVG.
Januzaj didn't get a proper chance at all. He was played as a #10, a striker and everywhere and wasn't trusted. What a ridiculous statement. If an 18 year old striker having his debut season and a 20 year old carrying our attack can look immense, to claim Messi and Ronaldo wouldn't is criminal.
You can lump all the blame on LVG you want, I wanted him out as much as anyone else, but maybe some of these players just aren't very good.
Valencia when he returned from his operation was one of our best players under Van Gaal, RVP was finished and has looked average in a piss poor Turkish league, Shaw was arguably our best player before he broke his leg and didn't play the rest of the season, Di Maria wanted to leave the club and couldn't be arsed to play.Januzaj didn't get a proper chance at all. He was played as a #10, a striker and everywhere and wasn't trusted.
I'd go with probability.
LVG stifled creativity and attacking intent. Herrera, Di Maria, Valencia, Shaw, RVP, Januzaj all suffered as a result.
Martial and Rashford didn't because they hadn't been Van Gaalised enough.
I am 59 years old and have shot knees - I am a better option than Darmian. For me, he's still a far better option than Darmian.
Yes, yes you are.I am 59 years old and have shot knees - I am a better option than Darmian.
I am still skeptical about Valencia. He is actually a great option to have at the RB as he is a nightmare for opposition RWs but from an attacking point of view, Valencia had much more issues than just LVG's philosophy. Agree that Mourinho can transform Schneiderlin and Herrera though.Valencia is the first bit of proof that just because certain players were shite previously, doesnt mean they will be going forward. I hope we get the same out of the likes of Schneiderlin and Herrera. Those two need positivity desperate put back into their game.
same here.Love Valencia, great professional and team player
He got a decent few assists in our last 10 games and with the exception of West Ham game performed better the vast majority. I like Valencia, very undervalued imo.Yes. I am beginning to think that his crossing last season wasn't that bad and that our strikers just didn't capitalise on them.
His crossing was actually poor for the last yearsYes. I am beginning to think that his crossing last season wasn't that bad and that our strikers just didn't capitalise on them.
I knew the revisionism would start, his crossing has been dire for seasons now, usually ends up not making it into the box anyway after being smacked off the fullbacks shins. Hopefully a few more crosses like last Sunday are on their way.Yes. I am beginning to think that his crossing last season wasn't that bad and that our strikers just didn't capitalise on them.
