Ugh. That's all I can say about that first half performance. We need to snap out of this shit soon.

He's been far from our worst player today, but of course he'll get all the blame because it's fashionable. Why not blame Rashford, who has been hot garbage? Or Smalling, who has reverted back to his old self and looks utterly clueless? Or Ibra, who offers nothing except the ability to finish chances and can't even't do that half-functionally today making him worse than useless?

But no, it's all Rooney's fault.

Once again, the last resort is to throw everyone else under the bus to defend Rooney being utter shit again.

I didn't say it was all Rooney's fault so wipe away your tears.

I said he's utter fecking shit which he has been.
Yet of all the players, some of whom have been much worse, you chose to single out Rooney. If that doesn't smack of an agenda then nothing does. Obssessed

Watford have been full of energy. A team that comes out flying against us from the opening minute and we don't know how to change the momentum. The big names need to stand up in the second half.

I am not sure how so much money can be spent over the last several years and this is what we get in return.
    It is a big worry.
Spend £86m or so on Pogba, and still people say we need both a partner for him , and a holding player!

As if the Herrera, Fellaini and Schneiderlin signings were completely not worthy of either

    Red Card for Casemiro!
We have zero creativity and no variation - get it wide and put a poor cross into the box. Look at City's imagination. We are nowhere near.
    This.

Sitting in front of my screen, even I can seem to predict what each player will do when they have the ball. Given enough data, a Machine Learning algorithm can predict that accurately. There is no creativity at all.

Mourinho needs to change the formation.
    4-2-3-1 wont work.
The 3 behind ibra are not up to the mark. Especially Looney. The 2 behind them are out of position. We are depending on a goodish defense and an aging world class striker to carry us through games. Which is not happening.
There seems to be 0 pattern of play, no creativity. Just a repitition of Rooney to valencia and then a corner. Rashford always tries to take his man on and is second best today. Pogba apart from a couple of moments hasnt done anything.
Mourinho's machine is powerful but misses the oil that makes it run smoothly.
Carrick and herrera sit on the bench. Its like mou doeant want to change.

Also that was a foul, we have had terrible terrible luck with the refrees. Its like they have something against us.

rooney playing hollywood balls to no one

rashford way off the pace considering his lofty standards

once again, they look like they took fecking horse tranquilisers before kickoff. No urgency, no direction, no cohesion.

Get herrera out there, yeah not the most technically skilled but he's a fecking fighter and might make something happen.

He is severely holding our team back. Best paid, longest serving, captain.. Herrera instead of him would do wonders for our team right now. Of course it would help not having Fellaini as dm.
Yeh, Herrera really ran the game in Rooney's absence against Feyenoord, didn't he?

Another awful half of United yet again. We need better passers in midfield (and in the defence-Blind). Our passing is laughable at times.

Btw, did anyone else see the look on Faria's face when Rooney was talking to Mourinho on the sidelines. That was gif-worthy.

There's something wrong with the squad, look disjointed and disinterested. Don't know why Jose try to play to Watford way by playing with tall players. Most of the players on the pitch are tall but they are not strong enough and still get bullied by Watford most of the time.

Jose should have use blind or Carrick to hold and spread the ball for us rather than Smalling and Fellainy. We are screaming for a player to pass the ball from the black to the front and there's no one.

There's little in it, Pep had a more balanced squad to start with though
What bullshit. Jose came up before the season about how happy he is with the team. How he has great players, how zlatan will be so good. And now you say that Pep has a better balanced squad. Whose fault is that?

It's not fair to solely blame Rooney. The entire team bar Shaw, Bailly and DDG have performed inadequately.

How long until Rooney is pushed wide at the expense of Rashford to get an actual midfielder in there?

another loss would really drain what ever moral we have left. I could see a downward spiral this season if we come out of this game with a loss.

Its been absolutely shocking, but Mourinho cant turn around the last 3 years of shite in 5 games. Weve got to be patient.
Having said that, the Rooney situation is infuriating. Shoehorning him into the team is ridiculous seeing as he is absolutely past it.
It is all on Mourinho, IMO. I was all for him, but he has really been very bad so far.

Just look at our team, no-one on defense can pass the ball, and neither can Fellaini. Pogba is the only one out of those 6 players that can pass well, but good luck on passing the ball to him. Either Blind or Carrick (or both) must play every match, otherwise we can't keep the ball and so we will be in a lot of pressure. The second problem is Wayne Rooney, a player that IMO would struggle in Championship starts every fecking game and destroys every action when the ball goes near him. Then we have Fellaini-Pogba partnership which is very unbalanced (Pogba needs someone who can pass near him in order to shine).

And the cherry on the shit is sending Ashley Young in, a player that should have been removed from the team years ago.

It is a terribly unbalanced squad with 3-4 players that should be nowhere near United, let alone in the starting eleven.

As I've said countless times already, most of these players shouldn't be at United. We've assembled a squad of spineless shite.

We create absolutely nothing unless Valencia beats his man. We must be the most static team in the league.

it's actually incredible how better Watford is at creating chances, while we almost play like Celtic. it's only matter of luck that it's still only 1-0.
Or, they are pretty dam fortunate they got away with what a lot of refs would have blown up for to score.
While we've hit the bar, Ibra has had at least 3 good chances, and Rashford just fired over.

Rooney in midfield just a few weeks after saying he'd never play in midfield. Can we have a manager who doesn't shoehorn him into every team please.
I am starting to believe that there is something in his contract that says he has to play whenever he's fit. I mean it is impossible that Jose can't see how bad Rooney is. Nonetheless, in this game everyone's shite.

It's all good. We're playing well, just unlucky to go a goal down against a very well organised and hard working Watford. Nobody panic. Just remember the hard times and don't be spoiled.

We will have issues with Pogba and Fellaini in the midfield. Blind or Carrick have to play, it's the balance we need. We would look a different team with one of them in the team. Even Basti...
