Game looked alright. Fellaini and Lingard have messed up some of our best chances. Players look like they want to win this and they will win this.

Yes how dare we be so demanding going 4 up against a virtual rank unknown team with the players we have?
Rank team or not it is 11 people vs 11 people they are not invincible or superman and they don't dictate the fee...

Football is not as simple as some one like to believe

Don't worry, just keep moaning at a player the whole game and your sure to get one :p
Don't think I put in enough hard work at the Caf to earn a tagline. It is however a goal of mine to some day get one.

At one stage we had 80% of the possesion, and at around 35th minute we still did not have one shot on target, against this nobody team
Oh ok, I guess stats decide how good of a game it is. We're creating chances, playing good attacking football and are in 100% control. There is nothing to complain about, yet 700 posts have been someone complaining and whining.

God knows I'd kick out so many posters from the match day thread...

Loser mentality. You play to win the game! You play. To win. The game.
You can call it whatever you want. Doesn't. Make it. Any less true. You've got to have your head in the sand if you dont see top sides adopting the same attitude in the competition.

In a game like this I don't understand why we play Fellaini. He's probably been on the ball the most and it's not like he has any idea what to do with it. Our really slow pace hasn't helped either but putting Carrick on should at least solve some of the issues.
Its not just fellaini. Bring on blind elsewhere and he'd be fine.
or a full back who can do something with the ball, ideally one that does more than win us corners off the defenders shins every so often
Rojo has his uses as a defensive player and so does fellaini but zorha luhansk aren't going to be doing any attacking so they're just redundant.
As is playing smalling and bailly when we'd manage just as well with blind and have someone who can move the ball forward,
instead of pogba and mata dropping back and playing a 40 yard hit and hope pass forward every so often.

Its a ridiculous back 5 to play against a team like this, or just in general really.

That was fun. Such slow pointless nonsense for majority of that half. Mata and Pogba showing class at times but overall crap. Fellaini and Rojo are useless plus Lingard who I rate as very average but occasionally good is being very much the former. Hopefully we replace the three of them at half time. If we don't beat these mugs it will be very embarrassing all round.

Jesus fecking Christ, I've read through this entire thread since HT. We've been completely dominant, yet more or less 99% of the posts have been bitching and whining.

Some of you lot get a fecking grip on reality in this thread, or I swear to God.....
What good is dominance in terms of possession gonna do if you are unable to create nearly nothing from open play? You are so damn static you might aswell pass at around the the middle line of the pitch.

Was TFM that bad? Apart for some dodgy positioning I thought he was pretty good.
No, he was completely fine and in total control of his side. People in this thread are complete and utter crazy, and demand a more focused and less error prose Dani Alves 100% of the time.

He created nearly all our chances :houllier:
Other than the cross to Mata, I don't remember one. But I might have missed one or two. I do remember him giving the ball away four or five times, though. Thought he should look better against a team that finished 5th in the Ukraine last season.

All in all not too bad. We created enough to be 2-3 up, but misfired in the final third. Zorya are sitting back and playing some negative football which is to be expected. We need a goal to force them out.

Not worried so far, we'll win it.

Hope Jose is finally seeing the worth of Fellaini, just like he saw the light with Rooney. He's barely scraping through as a "squad option" based on this performance.

    Carrick on please.
Knowing Mourinho, he'll probably bring on Rooney for Mata

Mou keeps playing him because of his height, but honestly his weaknesses far outweigh his strengths. He's not a defensive midfielder. He can't run, pass well, keep the ball and can't defend as well and constantly gives away fouls left and right. Seriously how is he even contributing in this game? His only strength is his heading which we don't even require in this game.
The worst parts is that his positioning, and giving away the ball. Surely from his days under LVG he at least would have learned how to keep the ball better?

It's the Europa league and a rubbish team we're up against so that's not even a worry. What worries me is how we struggle to produce some decent football even against a side like this.

We hit the crossbar and had couple of other chances with Fellaini, Lindgard misfiring. It's not like we've been completely toothless.

We've been decent and put some good pressure on in the last 10 minutes. We should score, and I don't think they will

I don't hate him - I actually appreciate the job he does when used properly.

But I do hate us using him as if he's some sort of Tony Kroos who needs the be the first receiver of every ball from the back. I'd wager he saw more ball than any other United player in that half and he's one of our weakest passers/creators.
    I agree with that.

    Mou should have started Carrick.

Just logged in. 0-0 at half time doesn't sound too great. Have we been playing badly?

I think Depay is done at Utd. Starting on the bench for Europa matches means Jose doesn't trust him enough to even play these games.

Almost every time we opened them up it was Pogba behind the pass :houllier:

Mata, Zlatan and Pogba developing a connection which is good.

Difference between Mata on the right and in the centre is incredible, been involved in almost everything good the last game and a half.

I'm starting to think that the older players have been vanGaalised, and are finding it very hard to break the habit of ball possession. He worked more on the philosophy than skills training, and it's showing now.
