Not sure if United can get the win. But need to win if we are too keep up with City and Liverpool.

Hope Jose gets out an attacking lineup and we get a clean sheet.

@Damien de Gea played, though not a big deal for a keeper.

I'd be surprised if Young started, although I guess it's hard to drop him after the Liverpool game. Maybe Mata in for Fellaini, Herrera for Carrick.

The key thing is the starting line-up is Mata over Fellaini, I really hope Jose selects Mata and goes to try and win the game, I could understand the caution against Liverpool due to the style they play, but I think we can be more positive against Chelsea.

Mata and Martial both played 90 minutes on Thursday. I'd have thought if either were in Mourinho's plans for tomorrow they'd have been subbed.

    I've gone for this:

    ----------De Gea
    Valencia--Bailly--Smalling--Blind
    ------Herrera--Fellaini
    Lingard---Pogba--Rashford
    ------------Ibra

I guess Young could play instead of Rashford. Offers more defensively, and Rashford isn't the best on the wing. Depends on how Jose approaches it. The above lineup is probably the most attacking we can play (when you take account of fitness and whatnot).

Mou obviously couldn't do more than 3 subs and the both of them needed game times anyways given they didn't play on Monday.

Yeah I'm leaning towards that too, with Lingard being subbed in midweek.

Chelsea aren't as good going forward as Liverpool. The inclusion of Young as a winger in this game scares me. Creates next to nothing and he's basically become a second fullback.
Be a little brave, go for the win.

Lingard to start please. Scored a beauty there last season and he's been on form the last couple games. Bags of energy and can track back.

Sooner or later our luck has to change at this ground, I've genuinely lost count of the amount of times we've gone there and should have won but didn't for one reason or another

These are the confirmed ones on MEN (http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.../manchester-united-team-news-chelsea-12064091):

    Confirmed United squad members:

    Goalkeepers: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone
Defenders:: Darmian, Valencia, Smalling, Bailly, Blind, Rojo, Shaw
Midfielders: Herrera, Carrick, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Young
    Forwards: Rashford, Ibrahimovic, Martial

Good chance the team will be the same as against Liverpool.

I think the three dropped will be Johnstone, Darmian and Schneiderlin
Has Schneiderlin been unfit/injured or does Mourinho not rate him? I was worried when you signed him alongside Schweinsteiger but neither of them have worked out. Schneiderlin seems like the sort of player who will go somewhere else and be a decent player.

I think you'll draw this one. Conte seems to have pulled them out of their little dip in form with the 3-4-3 formation and Mourinho seems to be slowly finding his best team so I think it'll end up 1-1 or 2-2.

Cant see mata starting but we really look like we are lacking something when he doesnt play. Pogba will always play and herrera should always play, so hat leaves room for one more. Ideally to compliment them I would go for Carrick in big away games, with Mata at home, but its probably going to be fellaini again to compete with the physicality. We just need to do a lot more going forward, so hopefully with martial back we can do that.

Thank you for that wonderful analysis.

I hope he starts, I mean the right hand side, noone can't get past them while they still offer enough offensively, odd assist or a goal and brilliant workrate at both ends of the pitch.

The only question mark is the left wing which will probably be Rashford, about time for him to start scoring again, and hopefully we will see Mata as a no10, he will also have an extra motivation..

Surprised that the majority of the Cafe thinks we can beat Chelsea according to the poll. We haven't beat them in the last 10 games, 4 years ago. And the last time we beat them at Stamford Bridge goes way back to 2002!

    Probably another boring 0-0 incoming.
I think so too. Mourinho wouldn't want to lose, and Conte wants defensive solidity after those few games when Chelsea were conceding quite a lot of goals.

I think if we show a bit of cojones and push a bit we can take Chelsea. They're well suspect at the back, Cahill wont live with Ibra physically or the pace of Rashford / Martial - and Luiz is a red card in waiting. We'll need to watch their forward line - not as quick to press as the Liverpool of last week but far more quality IMHO; I suspect both coaches will go for a must not lose set up and we'll be bored senseless again. Bailly / Costa will be interesting.

0-0 draw or narrow Chelsea win. I think we'll set up like we did against Liverpool, but the Chelsea attack isn't as well oiled so we may go for it more. Knowing Mourinho away from home against a rival his is always not to lose and to try and nick the win.

We didn't have their former manager at our helm did we, and it's not the same Chelsea as 10 years ago we are facing.

Not true, we beat them in SAF's last season.

The majority predict we'll win every away game despite us only winning 15 of the last 42 away in the PL.

Please God no! Martial is far superior and Rashford is more exciting. Not seen much of Myktarin but I'd honestly rather have Young than Lingard.
