DNC should have went with Bernie as he was one of those few people who had the right moral compass AND an ability to voice his opinions in an convincing fashion. Instead they rigged the whole primary so their favorite Hillary could take it. The sad part is that Bernie had a lot of support among the "grass root" and undecided voters and the democrats would have voted on him vs Trump anyway

When I first heard about Trump camp targeting Michigan, I thought it was optimistic. He has gone and won Michigan, PA and Wisconsin. 46 electoral votes which looked pretty safe for Clinton.

Yep. I don't see Bernie losing WI, MI and PA, primarily because he would have engaged with these areas, engaged with the big issues there rather than focus all of his campaign onto Trump and how racist and sexist his supporters are.
Hillary let Trump dictate the entire discourse of this election. Even though a lot of that discourse reflected badly on him, he still dictated it all. The reason for that is that she and her campaign team decided that they were morally superior, and no other arguments mattered.
I never thought this but I'm honestly beginning to think it's a valid explanation. I mean you would struggle to name a US president who hasn't been involved in corruption, scandals or war crimes of one kind or another. Reagan had to resign on national TV ffs and he still has some of the highest approval ratings ever. Why then is this suddenly THIS offensive to so many Americans? Is it the old when a man is being two faced and manipulative, it is called cunning and smart politics but when a woman, it just doesn't commute? I am not sure but it certainly too much of a coincidence that the American public is suddenly this shocked about anything less than straight forwardness from their political figures.

The Republican party got lucky in some ways with Trump. They were dead in the water with all of their candidates. If Trump leaves after one term only or even if somehow he stays for two terms they could propose someone else and still be able to claim that it'd be a huge change, which people like, as opposed to 'more of the same' which people tend not to like.
That would make sense if the electorate had also thrown out incumbent senators and congresspeople...but they didn't.
