Video says it includes goals from 2013 though, and includes Birmingham, Brighton & Derby loans (he didn't score for Leicester according to wikipedia).
Haven't watched the whole video, but I'm sure I remember his debut hat-trick for one of them was mentioned.
Yep, some of the goals were on loan.

The quality of response is most often down to the quality of the question, you invited an answer with the way you worded things, so keep that up and I'm sure I'll see you in the mains soon enough.

I sure needed some time to get my thoughts on the contract sorted, at first I found it utterly laughable, then it just made more and more sense, but the way some in this thread have been purely condescending towards people with differing opinions (on both sides of this coin) makes it hard to come in with the mindset to give a proper reasoning for your thoughts.

Yeah, I agree with you, now that I've had time to think over the different aspects of the deal. It's not nearly as bad as many of us think/thought. I'm not one of the people who think it will have a knock-on effect when it comes to buying new players in different categories (as a star in Griezmann), I do however think that Rashford for example will ask for similar wages, and other potential English/Youth squad-players will ask for similar wages, but that isn't an issue if the standard of football from the players goes up to the point where we as fans are happy with what we see. I also think that even if it has that kind of knock-on effect, it doesn't mean that the club is forced to agree to all squad-players wanting that kind of wages if they don't think they will develop, be squad-players for long or should be upgraded on.

In my head, the players on the quality of Herrera, Smalling (yes, despite my many rants of thinking he is too bad to be a starter for us) and Mata should be our go-to squad-players, as I think they can do a job in a top side, but cannot be the pillars of it. A few slightly below that standard is healthy, but not too many from my point of view.
Thanks mate, soon hopefully :D Condescending attitudes on both sides of an argument are never good for a debate, I agree. I also agree on your point about what the actual quality of the squaddies should be, and I definitely think in the years to come we'll see that Jesse still plays his part, and this doesn't end up having any kind of big negative effects.

So is it 75k or 100k?
"The 24-year-old England winger will earn a basic wage in the region of £75,000 a week, rising to £100,000 if Jose Mourinho’s side qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top four or winning the Europa League. "

Also mentioned that he has 14 month left on previous contract.

He was out on loan for about three years.
You keep changing the goalposts of what I was disagreeing with!

The video is 6 minutes and has all his goals, at whatever team it doesn't matter. 3 years of loans in the lower leagues and 2 seasons with us and his goals video still only lasts 6 minutes.

Him being on loan for three years is a negative obviously. If he was good enough we wouldn't have sent him on loan.

Its not a negative for him. We could've sold him during that time if we thought he was not good enough. Instead we kept him through thick and thin, and a total of no less than 4 managers.

It is a negative, your suggestion is just a bigger negative.

I'm not suggesting anything. Just presenting the facts.
I mean if one of those managers would have sold him it would have been a bigger negative on him than being seen as someone to loan out.

Anyway, the deal is signed I think its a complete waste of a squad player on a far too high wage but he certainly isn't the biggest issue in our squad. A lot more not up to scratch players to deal with before he becomes a priority issue.

Surely being loaned out or not doesn't say anything about how good he is now?
Just means they couldn't/didn't want to get rid of him back then.
How he was then means nothing as we have to judge based on the player he is now and the player we think he can become. (judging doesn't mean we have a say in what the club does, but we can bitch and moan or praise on here after all)

People don't believe this do they? Not many people in the negotiation room. Who could have spilled the beans? Only the agent really and he doesn't benefit from it.

I think it's hearsay from one person to another who told one journalist and the other outlets run with it. No different than transfer gossip in my ears.

How do you know what Lingard is worth to United? The money in football is crazy, if the club thinks that's what he's worth then I don't see how we as fans can say that a player isn't worth that amount. There isn't some equation we can plug a players name and performances into that tells us what wages they're worth.
Our top earners
Pogba --- 290k (It's high but he's got a lot of potential and he came to United on the back of winning many titles in Juve as well as Champions league experience)
Rooney --- 250k (He's hasn't played much and probably doesn't deserve being paid that much considering how much he plays and contributes these days)
Ibrahimovic --- 220k (Definitely worth it since he's been scoring more than half of our goals)
Bastian --- 200k (Wasn't worth it since he contributed absolutely nothing)
De Gea --- 200k (He's been our best player for the past 3-4 years)

Our players who I believe should be making more than Lingard
Bailly --- 75k
Carrick --- 80k
Martial --- 65k
Valencia --- 80k
Rashford --- 20k

Other club players
Pedro --- 100k (He has won practically every team trophy with Spain and Barcelona and will add another one this season with Chelsea)
Willian --- 110k
Kante --- 110k
Victor Moses --- 45k (Same age as Lingard but has more of an impact than him)
Matic --- 90k
Courtois --- 120k
David Luiz --- 120k
Leroy Sane --- 55k (This guy was a huge steal by Man City, he's 10x the player Lingard will ever be)
Eriksen --- 64k
Delli Alli --- Not Sure but definitely not 100k
Sanchez --- 140k
Ozil --- 140k
Mane --- 90k
Firmino --- 100k

Now you do the Math,

Lingard is 24 years of age will turn 25 this year in December. He's not a young player. His goalscoring or creating ratio isn't that impressive. If we consider the top 6 in England, he would never get on any of their bench let alone first 11.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good player to have on the bench and I would not pay 100k a week for someone whose mainly a bench player. My assessment, at best, he's worth 65k/week. He's not going to be a world beater and does not have a high potential.

Any reputed sites reported these wages? Please don't tell me it's from totalsport.ek or sillyseason.com.

Going to be an even bigger joke if we don't make CL and he actually retains his same place in the rotation because no class wingers want to play in Rostov on Thursdays. Except Jesse and Fellaini.

A truly dark day in the history of Manchester United, it must be said. I tossed and turned in my bed for the entire night unable to shake this off my mind. All I could see was Jesse garlanded with money while Pedro looked on enviously surrounded by his multiple champions league trophies with a sad expression on his face. I just don't see how I can continue cheering his goals knowing fully well that he fleeces the club on a weekly basis. Had he been earning only 60k a week I might have been convinced to get up from my armchair and wave my arms in elation.

 we have money to burn it appears. Either Jesse has a helluva agent or our club doesn't give a feck when it comes to setting precedents. Everyone (if they didn't already) will wanna fleece Man Utd now. I cannot actually believe this, 4 years for that much money for Lingard :houllier:

I think 75K is fine. Every player has performance based bonuses in his contract, we probably must win the CL, the EPL and the FA cup for him to reach 100K.

While he is not the greatest player, I`m pleased that we are keeping him. Who knows, he might improve further. Recently we have been seeing quite a few players reach their peak around 28-29.

Lads relax. It's 75k with 25k addons for Champions League Qualification. I have no problem with putting motivating targets in players contracts.

World has gone mad. Whopping money for an average player at best. Very lucky boy as I just don't get him ability wise.

You've managed to pick the three worst transfer rumour sources - ask our Arsenal and Chelsea friends on here whether they'd be happy to go "head to head" to fight for his signature this summer, when they've stopped rolling around on the floor in hysterics , I wonder what their answer will be.

As for Rashford he's 19, he's not going anywhere . Despite Lingard's apologists forgetting that he is no longer 19 and is 24.
You asked for any transfer rumours of him, sorry to hear you're not happy with those. And I think there are far worse sources than those three. Hmm, don't know what fans' opinions have to do with whether there'd be takers for Lingard? Yeah, I agree - Rashford's not going anywhere. That doesn't mean no club would be interested. Same with Lingard.

That kind of expenditure is not the problem here. I agree he deserves a new contract, but simply not 100k/week. (if true) Yes the club may have made an assessment but nothing guarantees that every decision they make is the correct one.
That's true for everything though. Nobody can predict the future. It's 75k a week and as I said, even average players will demand 50k and will require 15-20 mill when we buy them. Guys like Ibe for instance went for 15m and gets close to 40k and Jesse is multiple times better than him.

Only 8 player in Real Madrid squad make more money then Lingard and the likes of Carvajal, Marcelo, Varane, Isco, Kova, Casemiro and Morata all make less.

No wonder players want to move to EPL.

This is factually correct. Don't we pay the most in wages in the league?probably up there in the world too.

Something is seriously going wrong as the investment is not matching the results. Paying lingard (if it's true) this sort of amount just shows we are just continuing our flawed transfer/contract strategy.
That's more due to the managerial changes which have led to us paying half a million a week for Rooney & Basti (yes I know he's now gone) for turning up to training.

Hasn't he been on 25k/w for something like 6 years? Or something similar I thought I read?

I thought it was genuinely absurd that people who are so obsessed with wage parity that they weren't going into bat non stop for Lingard who was a first team player on such a paltry wage.
Now his wage is over the top. I guess nobody can win.

I'm happy for him that he signed a new deal and look forward to watching his future unfold.

Everyone pays tax.

This is from Daily mail article in November 2016.
That doesn't even make sense. They have taken total salary and divided by some number. How they came up with that number is beyond anyone. There are 100s of staff who are on payroll so no journalist can come up with accurate numbers.

But then again we had BFS on 200k a week training with youth for the better part of the season and Rooney on 250k as a bench warmer.

Lingard on the other hand scored in FA Cup and Charity Shield final for us, he's youth product/homegrown talent, does what's asked from him and he's still 24.

Maybe not so bad after all, maybe this will motivate him to work even harder.

Bunch of sites reporting the same thing. Don't know how accurate it is but it doesn't matter. 100k for Lingard is madness. For compairison Lucas Vasquez gets 30k.
Which sites? Sillyseason.com, totalsportek?

Spurs don't pay any of their players as well as we do. If Alli was with us, he'd be on 150k a week.
Its not the pay per se its the quality of player. If Lingard was a great player they could pay him £500,000 a week, its not my money. Its the quality that needs to be bought in. We are not going to get anywhere near the top keeping him, and reportedly offering new contracts to Fellaini and a past it Carrick. The comparisons that I and others have put on here are showing the gulf in the quality of the players at Spurs for example.

If he was committed to united, he wouldnt be asking for 100k to stay. He is probably laughing to the bank.
Should he go back to them and ask for much less to prove his commitment?

"A great player"
Well Mourinho obviously thinks so with the contract he's given him. People are completely underestimating the importance of having players like him in a squad. I've been saying this for a while and Lingard continues to proves my point.

Reading this forum over the years and noticed that one of the biggest complaints you guys have had is how your club keeps around so many average players. To give one of those average players £100k a week is strange. I could be wrong, but I'm not even sure some of our better players at Chelsea are on that much.

It would have been like us giving Mikel 100k a week.
This. You are so right.
