Where are we all drinking before the city game?

Also ..How does one spot a fake ticket?
I'm just setting off to town in a bit meeting mates in NQ.
If you're still unsure I can meet up and you can compare it to my ticket which is legit as I got it in ballot from the club.
Pm if you want mate. I can show you a few local hostelries if you wish?

? It's Thursday and we're away? Sam Platts will be shut.
Apologies, he was talking about tickets for the Swansea game two posts up, didn't even notice the "city" in that post.

I've opted out of the Europa League, checked online and all tickets for the Celta Vigo game are sold out. What are the chances of getting 3 tickets seated together?
I noticed that too. Yet I could have sworn pretty much the whole ground bar the central South was available a couple of days ago.
I cannot believe it's sold out, they must be playing at some jiggery pokery to create the illusion of scarcity.

Do what super paranoid 8 years ago Sandikan did, when foolishly turning up for a Manc derby without a ticket, and wanting to make sure before I bought off a tout!
Go up to some randoms, try not to look too dodgy, and ask to see a legitimate ticket. Trying a few people who haven't got either Season tickets, corporate, or One United cards

I think I recall getting in for £50 that day, for a £36 ticket! That has to be one of the best tout jobs of all time!

Applied for Europa League final tickets via UEFA.com and had them arrive today! Now just need us to get there, cos the flight is booked... Anyone else go down this route?

I applied for the CL + EL but didn't get either. I apply every year, never had anything

Compare it to a real one. Obviously requires you getting hold of a picture of a real one in advance.

Make sure the hologram shines when you tilt it in different directions for paper tickets. A lot of tickets these days are on season ticket/member cards which won't have a hologram.

Ask to pay the seller inside the stadium if they know anyone in the same section as you. Also a PayPal payment using goods/service method offers buyer protection.
@Ronaldo's Mum Eh?

I thought I responded doh!

Yes the hologram appears on most tickets however for example arsenal (pictured) does not. It has some sort of RFID shit inside it and it feels slightly heavy.

Some euro aways don't have holograms also

I include this seasons arsenal ticket at the bottom £30. The RFID is behind the part of the ticket with the details and can be seen if held up to light.

Also include last seasons spurs (this seasons not been posted yet). The hologram on the spurs is their logo and 'THE GAME IS ABOUT GLORY' across the Junior stub

Anyone know when tickets for the UEFA Super Cup in August go on sale? In Skopje this year which would be a decent trip for what could be a United v Real Madrid game :-)

I'm told by the ticket office that from next season (i.e. from after the renewal date coming up) 2,600 season ticket holders will be losing their seats (I assume in tier 1) and being moved elsewhere (I assume they'll get a choice of where to sit).

Is anyone here getting moved?

They are extending the disabled section all the way around east stand and some north, this cannot be news to you if you have a seat in the area that will be affected they contacted everyone months ago about it.

Ah that's a shame. Where are they moving for from, somewhere in Tier 1 I assume? How does it work, do they just assign you a new seat somewhere?
We have 4 seats together which presents problems. Basically they have not offered us seats we are happy with. We could get good seats if we were prepared to be split up, but we're not. Currently holding some halfway back of tier 2 North. I'm hoping that more will become available after the deadline. They "spent 2 years communicating with all interested parties" except the season ticket holders themselves...

Will definitely be renewing, just considering the opt out option. I've opted out the years I've had season tickets, and it's worked well. Especially so this year, as it'd have been about an extra 10 midweek games with the league cup and Europa. Games I'd have really struggled to cover myself, or through my northern work pal. Missed out on the final of course, and any away ballots...

However, IF (big if) we do get in the champions league, the opt out is basically league cup only. And with 25% off prices, and the fact you may not actually get any home games in it, it seems less of a risk.

@DuncanEd and @hp88 , you guys know your stuff, can I ask a few questions/confirm things?

  1. Can you only apply for an away once you've made your first "extra" cup game payment? Be it league cup or Champions league?
  2. Away tickets - they have to be used by the named person now don't they? I "look after" 2 tickets, but my mate whose name is on the second ticket would have to be the person I go with? And you may have to pick tickets up with ID?
  3. You can opt out of any league cup/Europa game can't you? But one opt out stops any further away ballots/cup finals? So in effect there's not much point opting out now, you might as well play it by ear down the line?
ta chaps!

I've had season tickets in NW3434 for two years now. Asked them last year if I could transfer to the Stretty but was told it wasn't possible.

Anyone have any advice/insights on how I can try getting this done this year?

Renew as normal then give them a ring after the renewal deadline. We moved from E334 to W3106 a couple of years ago. There are no moves allowed until after the deadline date. They will give priority to anyone losing their seats because of the new extended disabled section. After that you should be able to move to any seat available. Probably only be singles available though

Game of lotto isn't it. You need the timing of ringing as soon as possible after the deadline, and getting in before anyone else nabs any option.

It's a strangely stress phonecall, knowing that you have a minute or 2 to decide on your next year's position

 Yep. I mean I'll take any two seats in Stretty Tier 2. I'm currently on the last fecking row of NW3434 so can't get any worse.

I might be massively overlooking how popular the Stretty is versus East 2, but surely one pair will come available if you ring at 9am after the midnight renewal deadline.
Otherwise, would you just move somewhere a bit better/different elsewhere? Closer at least?

Yep going to give it a big try the morning after. Would move somewhere else if I can't find anything there. I mean atmosphere is decent-ish as I'm sat right by where the Stretty starts, but it's just so high up. Stretty Tier 1, Northstand (not in the heavens though), singing section, would take all of those.

Stretty tier 1 will be one of the areas with less seats in it due to the new disabled provision, I assume all Tier 1 seating will be the same

@Ronaldo's Mum Eh? Did you get in to the Swansea game in the end? I spotted a Canadian flag down near the tunnel at one point.

The new disabled section doesn't affect the Stretford End. It is at the other end of the stadium, East stand and some of the North stand

That's true, my bad. I'd not read the stuff properly about where the disabled provision was going to be. I'm mixing it up with the fact that people displaced will be offered seats in various places, one of which is tier 1 of the stretty.

I think seat moves will be more difficult than usual this summer due to the disabled section expansion
Yep... I don't think they'll be letting people move seats until they've given the fans who are being relocated priority. Wouldn't surprise me if someone ringing the ticket office the morning after deadline day for a seat move are told they'll have to wait. That's what they did when they relocated fans to put the singing section in J-Stand a few seasons back anyway.

Yep. I called them yesterday just to ask and the lady said they were holding off on any seat changes this season due to the works taking place.

I've renewed way back in March. I've opted into the league cup games so far but will probably be opting out later. If we get into the Champions League then I will be able to do the 1st group game but after that I need someone to take the other 2 games off me.
