Next season, I plan on flying over to go to a big match, e.g. Liverpool at home. It's been a few years!

I've seen some online touts. I'm thinking about £150-200 for a big game?

Can anyone recommend a place to buy tickets?

What's the best route to Vigo on 4th May?

I'm looking at just turning up like I did for Wolfsburg last season and hoping for the best. Minus being drunk in a seat in the away end getting thrown out...(in to the United end :D )

This is a ballache mate, you need to be pretty determined to get here but there will be loads of spares for this simply because it's such a cnut to get in and out of.

You will need a hotel Thursday night as there is no public transport out of Vigo that I have found yet anyway unless you drive or Thomas Cook it at £299 (ticket included).

Some people flying into barca then flying onto vigo, some flying into Santiago and getting train (requires overnight in vigo after game), some flying into porto and train (requires overnight in vigo).

I'm doing porto overnight, train in the AM to the game then staying in vigo and either hiring a car back to porto next morning or getting the one and only train back out to porto in the AM.

The worst possible trip for fans this.

Bit confused with what is going on with tickets online. In previous rounds, season ticket holders have been able to buy additional tickets for friends and family at the prices for season ticket holders. It looks as if I'm having to pay non-member prices now, which is £10 more than expected for Tier 2 Stretford End - and then I'm having to pay a booking fee on top of that? Doesn't seem right to me.

The non-member prices and booking fees have always been there but the fact it's gone straight to general sale is what's puzzling for me.

You talkin' to me? :smirk:

A big game such as Arsenal those prices are about right but probably a bit more than that for the biggest.

I wouldn't use an online website as you'll pay about double that. Find a tout through one of the previously mentioned facebook groups or by getting yourself in and around Manchester.

But, as I understand it, season ticket holders have been able to buy additional tickets at season ticket prices for previous rounds, but not so for this one. I've bought two additional, but had to pay non-member rates. Anyway, managed to snag the exact two seats behind mine for the in-laws, so I'll be in the good books at least.

Yep. Not sure if you missed my first reply to you but they've skipped straight to the last stage of the usual process.

It's usually a process of the following and depends if there any available to move onto the next:

  • Allow ST holders to purchase their seat for those not in the ACS
  • Allow members to purchase one ticket per membership
  • Allow ST holders & members to purchase an additional 3 tickets
  • General sale - although they may require you to have had an online account before a certain date to stop away fans purchasing tickets

I presume as a season ticket holder, it's fairly easy to buy 2 tickets, but elsewhere from your usual seats? (swapping seats rather than additional)

Was in a different seat, for some corporate job on Sunday v Chelsea, and reminded me of the best part of the viagogo days, getting to take in a different view each week.

ps has anyone ever done the "Manchester Suite" corporate bit before? Seems the strangest "corporate" one I've ever done. The food has to be booked and paid for, and the bar is a pay bar too. "Roasts" (well, a sort of baguette crammed with meat) are available at £7.50 at half time, but you do get a free programme and a free cup of tea!

If I was paying around £200 per game for that, i'd feel a bit short changed! Great central North 1 seat. But still!

I've done Manchester Suite. Great seat and view of the game as you said.

You can get the food/drinks inclusive package for about £300 per game I think. I actually find the execs without food/drink better value as you can get better food in town for way less than the extra £100 per head. For me, the biggest perk to the execs is having a separate ballot for away tickets but since the new rules this season, normal ST holders are enjoying similar success rates as them so I don't see much value in them generally unless you entertain guests/clients regularly.

It was good to sample as a one off, and good to do exec without being someone's guest and having painful chitchat and a long meal for hours! Did feel sorry for Alex Stepney, who they foolishly wheeled out with about 2mins to go in the West Brom v pool game! Everyone was watching, and then cheesed off at the result, so poor Alex didn't get the respect due!

Will have to weigh up the chance of away game ballots next season. I could have gone for it this year as a "4th year", but I deemed the "risk" of a deep Europa run (that we're having!), plus long league cup run, could have added another 10 or so games! That's way too many games from a 400mile round trip point of view, and I have a very very small list of people to potentially take midweeks for me, and it was impossible to imagine they'd be up for many of those fixtures.

If we do get into the champions league it changes things though, as the Champions league games are compulsory and much more glamourous, meaning it'd be a much smaller risk on the League cup passage.

As you have discovered United exec team sell two types of exec.

You can buy the suite with or without food. Its about £1000 extra onto the cost a season for the food inclusive in the cheaper sutes.

For manc suite its about £1500 difference per ticket.

Wow, that is a severe difference!
Suited me fine, but it did seem a very strange experience. Sort of like you'd wandered into somewhere you weren't allowed.

Roll on the cheap seats again next game!

I used to sell my execs face value at £135 a seat per game. As my seats didn't include the free food this concept didn't compute with many potential buyers and thought I was scamming or touting a standard seat. One reported me infact and i got a slapped wrist off the exec team, not for selling but for advertising on social media.

Cant fecking win.

Must be a difficult mission shifting that level of ticket. Although Sunday's view was far better than my usual view, the extra outlay to get into that area (And i mean the standard half way line view, not exec stuff, just the £10-12 difference to my usuals) would soon add up for a pair, let alone over a season, and isn't worth it to me.

Did you end up having to get rid very often?

I might be able to assist with this.
Dependant on if I get 1 in ballot (8 credits) I am driving up from the algarve wednesday, staying Porto area then driving into Vigo Thursday. Overnight Vigo then back down to Algarve Friday. There's room in the car.
Do you know if it's collection or not?
Trying to sort the Mrs a ticket but my mates on credits not willing to risk it for me.
Give us a pm if it helps?

Hi everyone

I have been given a couple of season tickets for a match, but they are over 65 ones. How strict are they on enforcing that rule?

Thanks

They never check. Plus you can let your friends/family use your season ticket as long as they don't pay for the ticket

IF we get to the Europa League final, what would be the likely policy for the delivery/collection of the final tickets? Going off previous European finals obviously.

I've heard some people say it would be collection in Stockholm and others saying collection from OT..

Nothing official from club but going off Moscow, Rome and even Wembley they were collection from Old Trafford.

However last one was 6 years ago and overseas collections were only just starting back then. Plus far bigger allocations, meant Old Trafford was most sensible option for ticket distribution.

If 3000 plus can be issued without any hassle in a couple of hours at Leicester, I wouldn't be surprised if club do collections for 9000 or so over 2/3 days in Stockholm.

Basically I haven't a clue.....:wenger:

That's the case for all finals right?

So euro away credits don't matter for the execs?

And what about applying for a normal euro away?
Last season and previous cup finals, the club have promised exec holders as an incentive, that if they renew, they are guaranteed a couple of cup final tickets.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get through, the same will be offered.

However for any other european game the execs are in the same boat as everyone else including members where credits are applicable for the allocation during the ballot.

I've got a quick question. Last night I was able to purchase a ticket to the EL semi-final 2nd leg online from the official web-site, the tickets were on general sale and I'm not an official member nor a season-ticket holder. I'm not based in the UK and will be leaving tomorrow to Europe and I'll be in Manchester on the 9th-12th of May.

I'm curious about the way the tickets are delivered/collected. I called the ticket office and I was on hold for far too long, apparently que times are up to one hour at the moment. Anyway, when I bought the ticket I simply got the e-mail confirmation and nothing else, and no information about how I'm actually going to get the ticket. I'm assuming United don't do e-tickets (that you print with the barcode and show at the stadium). So how is this usually done? I really hope they won't put it in the post and send it by mail to my registered address because as I mentioned I won't be at that address as of tomorrow, and won't be back until after the game.

Would I be able to tell them to keep my ticket for me to collect at the Old Trafford ticket office a couple of days before the game since I'll be in Manchester on the 9th? Is that what they do anyway? Or if there is going to be an e-ticket sent, that would be great as well.

I'm sorry, I'm just a bit confused because there's absolutely no information on this anywhere. I would really appreciate any help.

You'll have to ring to say you'll need to pick up on the day at the massive ticket office behind the North/West stands.

Maybe try calling very early or very late in the day. They don't do E Cards. If you're not One United (membership card), it can only be a paper ticket

Call 0161868800 the option 1->4->9 and enter your number for a callback. They always call back, usually within half an hour

Where are we all drinking before the city game?

Also ..How does one spot a fake ticket?
Compare it to a real one. Obviously requires you getting hold of a picture of a real one in advance.

Make sure the hologram shines when you tilt it in different directions for paper tickets. A lot of tickets these days are on season ticket/member cards which won't have a hologram.

Ask to pay the seller inside the stadium if they know anyone in the same section as you. Also a PayPal payment using goods/service method offers buyer protection.

I've opted out of the Europa League, checked online and all tickets for the Celta Vigo game are sold out. What are the chances of getting 3 tickets seated together?

I'll be in Sam Platt's from 10ish I'd say. Always a good atmosphere under the marquee there before games, although never been on a Sunday morning. Who doesn't love Sunday morning cans though?
