We don't need to elevate to the the next level. We've created plenty of chances this season, we just need some clinical attackers and we'll be fine.
I don't think we can compete with Chelsea, Spurs and City for the league and the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern and Juve for the CL just by signing someone who can score a few more goals than we achieved this season, we need 2 more to achieve such things and that's without losing Ibrahimovic.

At this rate we will need to open his appreciation thread. I mean pktr guy.
Yeah, he needs to step away from this forum for a while. The overreaction to losing ONE player who has had ONE good season is laughable. If we really, really wanted him, we would've went all out for him.

I sort of felt that City are going to get some great players this window and Silva fits right into that category. Pep loves good technical players and can actually use them very well. Good move for the club and the player. I would have liked to see a player in the team who can actually dribble but it seems like it wasn't to be. I hope he flops big time but I am not holding my breath.

Croatia's best player with Modric last Euro's, fast, skillful, good dribbler, two footed, quite strong and direct, can assist and score. Only that Inter is absolutely terrible.
Normally I would biggied up a Croatian player but he's good every few games, in many of them he's not that good and dare I say,he's really not United quality.

I expect at least 1 of the 2 to have a good season. That plus the likelihood of us signing a striker would mean we have Martial, Rashford, Mhki, Mata, Griezmann, Lingard as options out wide. That's not a bad roster to be picking from really.
That's just Griezmann on top of the dross we've enjoyed this season though... I think we need more options - I think we need at least 2 new attacking signings. Griezmann plus one more exciting player should hopefully raise the level of our more average Martial/Mkhitaryan attackers.

My concern here isn't Silva but the fact Monaco surely can't sell half their side.

Whoever it is we really want we need to wrap it up quickly.

I expect us to sign a striker but do you really think we're going to add 3 attacking players whilst our midfield and defence could do with reinforcements?

I'd go more the route of an attacking left back personally, however Mourinho has hardly ever gone with 2 attacking full backs so can't see that happening.

If the rumours of 4 are correct I suspect we'll see.

Griezmann
ST

CM
LB/CB (possibly a winger instead if Mourinho trusts our cbs)
Griezmann + ST will be very costly won't it? I am of the opinion that if we buy Griezmann we will play him as a striker or maybe behind the striker along with Rashford/Martial.

This is just like De Bryune. A world class player simply being allowed to move to a rival. Pissed off.
What exactly do you want us to do? Sign every top player that becomes available? Have a squad of 50 world-class players on gigantic wages?

The meltdowns on here are actually inconceivable at times - the window isn't even open yet and there's posters saying we're falling behind City cause of one fecking signing they're making.

Some of you are embarrassing this forum. Bunch of kids.
Each post below is from a different match day thread
*Drum roll*

Hate being pessimistic but I think we'll lose.
Don't like Valencia starting at RB. We'll lose this 3-1.
Whether that happens with the current crop is anyones guess. I'm convinced we'll lose today.
Don't like monday games and think we're gonna lose
If we don't up our game a couple of levels from monday we'll lose as I think Liverpool will turn up today, and then next weekend will be back to being average
We'll lose. 2-1 to Chelsea.
Just my gut feeling but we'll lose this.
I'm so freaking restless and even going for a run didn't help. Think we'll lose 2-1 today.
Think we'll lose 2-0.
We'll lose this won't we?
That half was stressful and I reckon we'll lose.
Figured we'd lose this.
We will lose tonight :(
We're gonna lose this aren't we? I mean all this expectation has to come crashing down and p... on our parade.
We will lose this game.
Lose at the weekend and pressure already mounting on Mourinho.
Yup. We'll lose alright.
No matter how I think about this match the conclusion is the same. We'll lose.
Happy with that team wich means we'll deffo lose.
Every chance we'll lose tonight so people should realise this won't be easy.
Am I the only one thinking we'll lose by a couple of goals?
We'll lose no doubt about it.
I'm convinced we'll lose but hey I always do. Will try to enjoy the match and avoid the caf meltdown afterwards.
We will lose no question about it. Don't want to but can't say I'll be butt hurt either.
We will probably lose and this place will have a meltdown as usual.
We'll clearly lose.

While pep and man city can sign them all.
Not really. From last year's City signings I'd only take Jesus and Sane. And I don't think we had a worse window with Bailly (compare his season to the one Stones had), Pogba, even Mkhi.

Them signing Bernardo is a strong signal (as I have no doubt Pep will splash well over 100M EUR on his defence too) and I am really disappointed as I love this guy, but we'll be fine.

Perisic is very unexciting. If we sign him and Griezmann then fine. If we only sign him, then we may as well have focused on getting Martial back to form

First you said we need players with good possession. Then that we need pacy players and wingers . Then you said we actually need Walker and in that case me should move Valencia to the wing cause he supposedly obliterated Argentina. Cause wingers are like Fbs in our system . Oh and we need to buy Fabinho and cut Peps wings.

Money isn't exactly scarce at United. 4 players would be around 50m each. Couple of sensible buys means we can splash big on 2

I admire your persistence, but at this point you're just saying nonsense. They've signed one player. Granted, a good player, but like someone else said we can't sign them all. They can't either. Did they sign Pogba? Are they going to sign Griezmann? No (City keep your dirty hands off Antoine)

I have always maintained, we need both players , one who can hold the ball better and one who can be direct as well against deep defenses to play direct and counter attacking.

I have only mentioned that we needed a cover for a full back and a winger with high work rate and directness. If we fail to get anyone AV is a good option to play on the wing as we really lack wide players and he does have the workrate to both attack and contribure defensively.

Makes my blood boil seeing the level of players we field while City keeps stockpiling on top attacking talents like this. Ruined my weekend, can't even enjoy the cup win properly now.
 Get a grip. Swear people on here need to get out more ffs!

Sure City fans are thrilled, but where's the thrill of chase, the weeks of will he, won't he, and the inevitable drama of the last minute hitch? it all adds to it for me, especially with top signings like this.

Fair play, but personally I'm looking forward to our next 6 -8 week chase of Griezmann, will make it all the more satisfying when he does sign.
