I've stopped playing Witcher because I'm tearing through it and want to delay the inevitable. I'm playing Wolfenstein New Order for a change of pace, but the difference between the two games in terms of storyline, acting, graphics, etc, is massive. I know one's an RPG and one's a FPS, but the cut scenes, scripts, voice overs, and so on are night and day. I think Witcher has ruined other games for me.

Lemmy has forsaken us....
Bouncing between FFXV and Dragon Quest VIII at the moment, looks like the changes they've made for the 3DS edition of DQ have all been nice upgrades. I'd have preferred it on tablet, if they hadn't fecked that version.

I forgot how daft and goofy DQ was at points, almost parody level.

Hmm, we have Ghost Recon Wildlands, Sniper Elite 4 and Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 all coming out pretty close to each other. Obviously Wildlands is the big one, but the other 2 look good. SGW3 looks a mix between the 2 games, all single player though. They all look very good in their own rights. Anyone planning on picking all 3 of them up?

I wasn't a huge fan of the last GW game whereas I loved Sniper Elite 3 so I'll definitely be getting SE4 (and Wildlands). Will probably end up getting GW3 too though if I'm honest with myself

So, I rebought FF14... Preordered the relaunch, got about 15 levels in, and decided I couldn't deal with the GCD. Saw it in the Steam sale for a fiver, so thought screw it, I'll give it a chance playing a caster :D Might enjoy it, and if not, oh well.

Anyone playing on Ragnarok?

Thinking about buying Metro 2033 Redux since it's got good reviews and is cheap, and I'm also a fan of the S.TA.L.K.E.R series. Anyone played it?

I prefer the original Metro over the redux.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is an excellent series of games and really overlooked. Funnily enough, I somehow got the radio song you hear at camps from the first one stuck in my head yesterday, no idea why, and now am thinking about playing it again

Metros are great fun. Beat the first one last week and am halfway through the second one. I also bought the Stalker series and haven't played it yet, but be aware that you can't use a controller for it. Keyboard and mouse only.

What's the difference? Might be a tad difficult to find the original ones now right? I should have stated that I'm playing on PS4.

As above, it's for PS4 as my current laptop is a bit old and crap so can't play games on it. The first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is the best, play vanilla first and then try out some mods, it's great. You might need a few fixes though like the ability to repair weapons and some other minor tweaks to make it more enjoyable without chaning too much.

Fair enough, it's still great. I just prefer the atmosphere and mechanics of the original, they changed too much to make it like the slightly dumbed sequel IIRC.

I agree with the stalker mods stuff, I can't remember exactly what I used, but it was mostly tweaks and fixes. The standard game is still far better than people think.

I haven't played the original so hopefully I'll enjoy it anyway, I'll put an order in right now!

Regarding Stalker, I think I made the nights darker, flashlight a bit stronger, the ability to jump a bit higher and some other small things (and the weapon repair). I'd still say that the first one is one of my favourite games of all time, and the atmosphere is just fantastic.

Received Metro Redux today so started playing straight away. Opted for ranger difficulty but that was a mistake. Considering that all the hints are turned off led to confusion when the mutants kept coming and I had no clue what to do as I ran out of ammo and couldn't heal myself. I also managed to miss the ammo and medkits in the first section, and didn't even find the weapon in the second so decided to start all over on hardcore difficulty.

Loving it so far though, the atmosphere reminds me about Stalker and the weapons are great!

Aim for the head and pull the trigger.

How hard can it be!

With no bullets it was pretty difficult! I also had to google how to put the gas mask on, ah the struggle.
Save the bullets then. Seriously, new gamers

Joking aside, I know that it is a struggle to play games that have limited ammo. System Shock 2 maybe puts it to the extreme, remember loading it every time I wasn't able to kill an enemy with a single bullet. If you don't do so there, you'll soon be without them and then you'll get eaten.

The problem was that ammo was available but since I was playing on Ranger, the hints were turned off so couldn't find the ammo. So I had one mag or 40 bullets when I was supposed to have around 120 bullets!

Started over on hardcore and found the ammo amongst other things. I read somewhere that it is really difficult to start the game on ranger as you get no help whatsoever, not with which buttons to press to actually do stuff or anything. Enjoying it on hardcore instead.

Just took down the final two bosses on Bloodborne. Thinking I'll do the last 2 playthrough and last 2 chalice dungeons some other time. Got dark souls 3 from a local store that was trying to get rid of stocked games as they are quitting the games sale. Considering waiting to start it up until the last dlc is out so I can do it on my first playthrough...

Edit: Aaand there i finished up digimon world cyber sleuth...
Guess I'll have to start up dark souls 3 tomorrow when i get bored.

Started on a bloodborne speedrun about half an hour ago (ng+1), only doing bosses i cant skip (or dont know i can), so far done father gascoigne, Amelia, Shadows and Rom. Unless im mistaken i only have the one reborn, micolash, wet nurse and the final boss (if i choose to) left.
First half up to the bloodmoon was really, really fast when i skipped every single enemy apart from bosses. Hope i manage to get through the shitty village fast enough as it was a pain on my first playthrough (speed running 2nd playthrough and likely 3rd only for the last 2/3 trophies, leaving me with the queen for when im bored)

Edit: aand im done.
Died once to wet nurse and once to the final boss. But that went fast. ^^

What's the pros and cons of those steam machines? Worth it? Or better just getting a gaming pc?
Got a ps4 there which is barely used.
