Looking at his stats he is not an aerial threat in opposing boxes. I miss that ability since Vidic and Smalling earlier on to be able to grab us an easy goal.
He has one goal and it was a free kick against us. He definitely needs to work on that.

I haven't seen him too much but I completely trust Jose's ability to assess a defender. He is going to be good.

Its great that we have now solidified the spine of our team.

All thats missing is that top class striker to lead the line.

If Lindelof is as good as advertised, we will have a very formidable central duo for the next 10 years. Mourinho's teams (and Fergie's) are always built from the back.

Just need Mendy, Fabinho, Sanchez and Morata now and we'll hopefully be serious title contenders.

Feck me he likes to pass the ball forward and actually create chances. His passing accuracy is over 90% !!!

what the hell?
I wonder if Mou is planning to play three at the back allowing Lindelöf dictate our play? His longe range passing is sublime for a defender.

Lindelöf can definately fill in at right back so that issue is now solved, he might even be our long term future right back? It will be very interesting to see how Mou will use him.

Does this mean it will be Bailly and Lindelöf pairing? What about Rojo when he comes back? Maybe he will be moved to LB.

Bailly played at RB often for Villarreal.

Can't believe we actually did end up signing someone from Benfica who the Portugeese press has linked us with.

Excellent news - clearly Jose's top pick for the position, so well played Woody!

Wahey. Been offline for most of the day so first time I saw anything about this was the lovely headline on the Redcafe main page.

Glad to see its sorted and best of luck to him here.

Sounds like a good signing, but it's worrying, if it's true, that he's weak in the air. With Bailly being shit at it too, it could be problematic.

I actually rate the CBs we already had but, I definitely think we lacked a CB who can play from the back. Hopefully Lindelof can be that player.

Only problem I see with Bailly Lindelöf pairing is that they are both so young. Would have prefered at least one of the starting CB's to have more experience.

Some of the idiots on here talking rubbish, who are we to question Jose?

I'd imagine a fair few did the same for Bailly. I'm buzzing about this signing as he's a proper Jose signing, he's been chosen by a manager I 100% trust in the transfer market. He knows 100% what he needs for his squad, he's know the defence needs improving and he feels Lindelof is an improvement.

I'm happy to say I 100% trust him.
