Neymar joins PSG on a five year deal

No it isn't, and the Premier League is not the best league in the world also.
I think you're confusing my point. Firstly I didnt say Premier league is the best league in the world. When I said competition wise, I meant the results are so unpredictable even when first placed team plays the last placed team. The fact that anyone can be beaten on a given day isnt as apt as it is in the premier league. Thats why its the most exciting league in the world.

Can't believe that people think that it could be good for Barca. It would be absolutely terrible for Barca. They already have an inferior squad to Madrid and selling Neymar would make them incredibly weak. In today's market having a lot of money is completely irrelevant, teams won't sell them any top players

Why should P$G have all the fun? We must get in on the action and trigger the clause ourselves.

200m isn't irrelevant, coupled with barca pulling power.

Selling neymar can be beneficial, on paper they can buy pogba, griezman, hitting the buyout clause for ddg and still have spare

Hey, why not, it's only money. Even at that price we should just go for it - it's not everyday you get a chance to buy a superstar.

Him, griezmann, Lukaku, good enough for top 4?

Can't be true this would just be too crazy!
But on the other hand it's Di Marzio..

Would be really funny if they snapped him up but kept on telling Barca that there's no chance in signing Veratti.

How does that work? Creative maths.

We've just agreed to pay 90mil for Lukaku, do you really think 200mil for Neymar would out us off? If he's actually moving and ready to join us, woody will be on it like a rash. He's a dream on and off the pitch.
His marketing potential would drive Woody crazy but this isn't a normal 200m though. Release clause means the entire money right there when you sign him. Lukaku might have cost 75-90m but we're probably not paying more than 15-18m this year unless we win a PL and/or CL.

No they cant. They arent getting those 3 for 200m. Griezmann is around 90m plus DDG at 60-70m. Pogba is definitely going for 100m+.

In this case we are talking about one of the very best players in the world who is only 25 and who is at the same time unbelievably valuable from the commercial standpoint. 195m pounds is quite a good deal in this regard - our attack would be outstanding and Ed would be able to attract a load of sponsors too

£200m is ridiculous mainly because he'd be pissed off there after 2 or 3 years and demanding another transfer anyway. Barcelona would take that in a heartbeat IMO, the financial state they are in and the tricky situation with wages/turnover ratio they'd probably take £150m if offered too.

Heh, origin of the story is from Sport, which is a FCB fanzine...neymar is considering leaving

As for the PSG angle, that's nothing new. It's been known for years that PSG have a standing offer of €120M for Cristiano Ronaldo, and have told Neymar and Messi they are ready to trigger their buy-out clauses

Yeah even we can't afford this one. A player for City/PSG to haggle over.

Neymar wants more money now that Messi has a shiny new contract so these links are inevitable. I'm hope he holds Barca to ransom and weakens them from making other key signings.

Results aren't predictable in Ligue 1 even PSG at the exception of one season tend to have the same amount of wins than the PL champions.

I think it also has to do with the fact that foreign teams are better.
Also of course, but financial terms are the first as always.

I just think its a waste of his talent to play in Ligue 1, a player of his caliber should be in a competitive league.
Ligue 1 is not the Premier League but it is not the joke painted in this forum.

The problem is/was the diference in financial resources PSG has over the rest of the teams, but teams like Monaco have a good system, or teams like Lyon produce a lot of good players, and then you have Nice well coached by Favre, or Bielsa coming this year to Lille and Marseille investing more for their standards.

Yeah but he has all that already at Barca, just with better weather and playing next to the best player on the planet on top.
But he is not the number 1 at Barcelona.

Kante and Mahrez were at Monaco?
No, I was being ironic to the notion good players in Ligue 1 only at Monaco.

Thats why its the most exciting league in the world.
For some is, for others don't, but everyone is entitled to their own football tastes.

It is probably the best league for PL clubs to shop at.
Yes it is.

Messi's wages are nearly the double of Neymar's for the next 3 years. That pretty much explains this.

We bought pogba for 90m don't we? If barca comes with the same money and their pulling power its not a clear cut pogba would come to us instead of them
We wouldn't sell for 90m. Even still 90m+90m+50m is more than 200m. So no they wouldn't be able to buy them with room to spare.

THIS!
I think it's all about getting a new contract - the same applies to CR and Messi every time one gets a new contract the other suddenly 'considers leaving'. Only question is if Barca really want to afford that given their situation and risk that Suarez etc do the same or if they risk that Neymar would be 'sad/angry' or whatever negative adjective you would like to put in..

I think I am going to give up explaining why Ligue 1 is not as bad as some think, better for you to explain them

Premier League also attracts a vast majority of big players. French, Portuguese or Dutch leagues dont. Well at least until PSG came along with their big money, they didnt attract big players.

You think about how much we could make commercially from Neymar and perhaps even for 195m (providing we can also sell him on for a large fee after 3-4 years), it still might be worth it. There are also indirect positives i.e. many other top players would want to join us to play with Neymar, South Americans especially.

Why is the cafe so hell bent on resale value? Who the hell pays 200m for a player and then sells him 3 years later?

200 mil seems crazy now but the way football is going it could be a shrewd bit of business. Similar to how it looks like we got short changed on 90 million for Ronaldo.

Such players don't come around very often and if there's a slight chance he'd come I'd go for it.

Hazard does alright, and Neymars much better than him.

Fair comment but Hazard isn't a push over when he can be assed. I remember Neymar getting beaten up by Chile in the world cup.

And could he do it on a wet and windy Wednesday night at Stoke?

Yeah it's the old cliché I know but let's be honest, Di Maria couldn't cope with the premier league so it could happen you Neymar.

Probably, byt they can buy close to 90 percent of any other player with 200m.

Milan bough the whole nee starting xi with less than that

If you factor in the wages then it's another story.

You're forgetting his salary, addons, etc.

200m isn't out of the question but we'd have to make him an offer he can't refuse for him to even entertain the idea. It's not as simple as paying what barcelona pays him

We've cleared many starts off the wage list

It's just a realistic statement. Look historically at foreign players playing for us - They all leave after a few seasons and it would be hugely incompetent to assume otherwise for any player. Neymar is only 25 and would still be worth a bucket load at 30.

What's PSG's record transfer fee?

I keep reading about how rich they are, unlimited funds, never going to sell Veratti, etc but I've never noticed them buying anyone or paying ridiculous wages.

What's the deal?
