Delaney really has come across as clueless this window so I'm not sure I'll believe that. Why would we be chasing a right back when we desperately need players in other positions?

Also, if we're not willing to pay £40m for Fabinho it's no wonder we're having problems getting players in. Doubt it's true.

With Darmian,Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Young we have enough options at right back. Yes i know that only Darmian and Valencia are actual right back but the other players have enough experience to play there.
Also, I don't know if we really want to lose another player to AFCON each year, with the Ivory Coast being a team that normally sticks around to the end.

I think we can live without signing a winger in this window. Martial - Lukaku - Mkhitaryan is an excellent front three and we have decent enough backup for each position in Lingard, Rashford and Mata. The holding midfield position is another story, though. If we fail to make a move for a proper defensive midfielder in this window I think we'll really end up regretting it.

How do we deal with Rojo Shaw and Young being out for several months?

We need a left sided player most

We have replaced Zlatan's goals with Lukaku. Other than that it is the same team that scored about 50 goals last season. We absolutely do need another wide / attacking player.

We need quality rather than mere options. Valencia is nailed on for first team when available. There is a lack of competition within the squad. Bayern and Real have built the squad with quality players for every position. Thats why their players keep improving. Darmian and Young will never be first teamers IMO.

All our transfer news has gone very very quiet since Perisic left for China. Even when he was in Europe, there was nothing much regarding other players. Really wonder what is going on behind the scenes now....

Martial/Rashford on the left, Mkhi/Lingard on the right. We have to prioritize Carrick's and Shaw's roles instead.

I reckon just waiting to see what happens with Matic and if he goes to Juve we'll look into Dier (not happening though). Other than that I think we're done.

He doesn't want people cutting inside all the time making the centre crowded. I have a suspicion that he feels Lukaku needs space and is not great in a really crowded area, so he wants play stretched.

I don't get how Chelsea are still being able to farm talent like that, and why nothing has been done to restrict them. It's mental and seemingly a bit pointless.
I agree there should be an upper limit. I believe they have something like 35 players out on loan. These 35 players cannot play against them if they are loaned out to lower prem teams and only help these lower teams take points off their rivals. Maybe this should be another thread or maybe there already is one.
Long story short.
its well past ridiculous.

Our problem was against deep, compact defending in numbers though. A wide man like Perisic will not have much room to really operate or stretch the play. I think we need more players who can score from nothing - a brilliant run and finish, a 30 yard screamer - to force opposing defences to push out and give us more space to exploit. Looking at the top teams around, none of them have an out and out winger, yet they still score loads.

None of them really strike me as the no.7 star signing to raise us a level and get bums off seats though. A Dembele or Sanchez would be perfect. I can live with Pereira, Axel and Tominay getting minutes in midfield if it means we push hard for that one more signing. Goals win you games. As for Griezmann, I don't think Jose will want to put his eggs in that basket since anything might change in the future.

conspiracy theories dear me

ok here is another one how about we go for an old winger Jose knows of and has great CL expeirence at the age of 34, he did sign Zlatan at 35

Arjen Robben might be willing to come here for a 2 year contract and still does a good job for bayern

Ok hit me with it as you do

What's his beef with us ?
Think it is the fact he was adamant that Pogba will not join us and join Real instead due to his Spanish bias. Also, the abuse and burns he got during and after said transfer saga from fans.
