Mo money mo problems...
There should be a separate league where sugar daddy clubs with owners with a net worth higher than 10billion can square off against one another, and allow other clubs who actually earn their own revenues from places other than oil and corruption, to compete in peace.

The MLS already exists if you want to watch washed up/bad players compete.

Yeah but them some would want a separate late for clubs in debt and where would we be.

I think what we are seeing now is what happens when too many clubs have sugar daddies .Theres just not enough superstar players for them all to have so every other player sees their transfer fee rise and sensible clubs are reluctant to pay what is clearly over the odds even for players they want.

Football is going to eat itself

All well and good laughing at City for spending crazy money but they will keep doing it until they have a team with no weakness capable of dominating the league

Glad Darmian is staying, in this market it would cost an arm and a leg for a half decent full back. He can back up both sides or play in a 3 man defense.

I like the lad, but was hoping for an upgrade at right/left-back, which would have made him surplus to requirements by default. I'd assume by this, he expects to stay in Mourinho's plans. A bit disappointed that we aren't looking to strengthen there.

I agree. I can't understand why for all the money they have spent they still haven't signed a central defender or two and even a holding midfielder. Kompany is still their best defender and he is always injured. I still see them getting rolled over at Anfield and against Spurs. They will beat the dross comfortably.

They had no problem with their attack. The issue was defence. Aside from Ederson, their signings don't really remedy that problem. Mendy and Walker are pretty offensive fullbacks.

Theyve been trying that for a long time and still haven't managed it

True, although potentially Ederson could help in that department despite the other night. I also don't think they're finished yet

Hasn't worked so far has it? Stumbled their way to the title twice and looked disappointing pretty much every other season.
Stumbled their way into the title twice?
I get rivalry and all that but the bias in this place is truly blinding. Who stumbled into winning a title. I'd love for us to stumble in to title or the top 3 for the first time in four years.

It's absolutely true. I just had to account for exactly this in the Matic thread. There's probably some whose entire mindset is so warped and lacking in any form of judgement that they'd accuse you of being a City fan just for saying that.

Gift wrapped by us bottling it against Everton and Liverpool collapsing. City have impressed at times but bloody hell they should have done so much better than they have.

2 league titles is still 2 titles. People only really remember the numbers, not the asterisk beside it.

Why would they sign both Danillo and Walker?
So one can play as central midfield and CB, then having wide attacker to play as wing back, maybe? :wenger:

Now Chelsea is in funny situation with not many full back option available. I reckon we should take a punt a Aurier just to spike thing up...

They need another left back, right? Kolarov is leaving, Bertrand?
