Feel Pereira is trying too hard. Hopefully he doesnt get the hook at half time. He will settle down as the game goes on.
Spot on it. He's trying to force it, when be needs to keep it simple. Don't blame him though, he won't have too many chances to impress.

Aside from a few defensive lapses, quite a good first half from us
Matic has been a revelation

It would be nice if our left side was as productive as our right, it would make us way less predictable

Imagine if we played this game a couple days ago when he was only 28!
What rate is he aging at? He'll be 36 by the time the Prem kicks off.[/QUOTE]

He turned 29 the day after we signed him.

Matic exactly what I hoped he'd be.

Valencia outstanding.

Pereira and Pogba trying a bit too hard.

Blind dismal.

Matic looks surprisingly fit. He'll be a key player in the coming season.

If Pereira and Pogba switch positions I think they will both do better

Good half from Mkhitaryan and Matic but the standout man has been Valencia, he's been on fire in that wing back role.

If 3 at the back then becomes our usual formation then a combination of Bailly/Smalling/Rojo is probably our strongest.

Doing ok but wish we didn't have to line up so bloody defensively. Obviously he's preparing for Real but it's just not great craic to watch.

Duncan Castles is saying A.Pereira already guaranteed a spot in this season's squad, maybe that explains his performance.

Sorry forget we were playing with three at the back. Darmian has actually done ok. Blind has been terrible in pre-season.
Yeah he has. I'm one of his biggest fans but he just hasn't seem right. His passing has been all over the place, usually it's immaculate, and his positioning has been poor too.

Darmian has been one of the best players on the pitch, hes used to player wingback too which is good. Where he falls down is when he receives the ball in our own half and his passing channels get closed down - he sort of just freezes.

Matic is great at stopping counter attacks. Just shows up when there is a leak.

I know it is preseason, and it is against Sampdoria, but watching Matic playing in his preferred position, hence freeing up Pereira, and Pogba especially Pogba to play at his supposed best position at that left sided CM, feels good man. Matic is just so natural playing as the anchorman/destroyer, now I remember how it is to watch a pretty balanced United midfield, let alone team.

With one or two more acquisitions, the 352 seems really tasty indeed. Perisic? Griezmann? We can only dream.

A decent half.

Valencia best for us so far. A great half from him. Matic has looked fine. Darmian done well as wingback too.

Periera and Blind been most disappointing.

If Perisic is what Jose wants, Ed just needs to pay up and get him.
Jose always wins the league in his second season and he should get the personell he requires to make it possible.

Look at the difference Matic has made already

What did he say?
Sorry just seen this now. Was talking about his expectations for the season both personal and team. Covered squad happiness and the video of him playfighting with Joel Pereira.

Seemed extremely happy and was good to see.

Maybe @GifLord will be able to find a clip of it?
