Just wants a pay rise imo
He got one less than a year ago. If he wants another he'll have to play well again this season. Giving silly interviews to the Sun newspaper will not impress either Pochettino or Levy.

But it could see him sold, which might be what he wants.

It is Mourinho and Woodward he is trying to impress.

Best LB in the league, he's probably wishing he could trade places with Walker right about now. I remember a time when Spurs fans hated him as well, so this interview won't endear him to the Spurs fans.

If he's seeking a pay rise then his other option would be to try and force through a move. If he's still in contact with Walker then I can imagine he's feeling a little hard done to when comparing salaries.

If you say so. Regardless, it's water off a duck's back for Levy.
Hardly water off a ducks back when you consider the bigger picture - your starting RB was sold to a rival, your best starting CB is stalling signing a new contract and your starting LB is coming out with negative comments like this.

Tbf though he wasn't great back then but nevermind the Internet spurs fans, the few that I knew in real life weren't all that keen on him either to say the least. This was around the time he came back from Sunderland iirc, but you got to hand it to him he improved so bloody much. Aggresion, pace, his attacking instincts.. almost like a different player entirely.

Can't blame the lad for being ambitious though.

He is represented by Base Soccer, just like his mate Kyle Walker.

Yeah it's not good.
If it's any small consolation, it's players like Rose/Walker who are in their prime years but no noise from younger players yet which could still bode well for the future.

Can anyone read?
I said I hope Shaw comes back fit and confident as he has more talent than Rose and is 6 years younger.
Yes he's had an injury plagued few years but the talent/potential is still there and age is on his side.

Rose stepped up to be a top player in the last 2 years, when he was 24.
We can't wait for Shaw, we have to compete now. Shaw has been dreadful since his return from injury and even his first season pre injury was undewhelming. Even Mourinho has said he was miles away from Young and Darmian last season.

Shaw is younger therefore better, this is Caf logic 2017.
I don't see what people see in Shaw around here tbh. I wouldn't be surprised if some would say no to Alaba and Marcelo just to keep Shaw around. He's talented sure, but he's been here 4 years and still hasn't nailed down a starting spot and if anything has regressed. Not to add his constant injuries means he's barely ever available.

He might come good, but I wouldn't be surprised if we were in the market for a LB, the club might not be so open to taking risks.

Wouldn't mind him here at all, but I hope we don't embarrass ourselves by paying £50m+

You need to start looking at the bigger picture. The best Spurs players are not paid anywhere near their value and it's going to effect you lot in the long run.

If it is Danny Rose it reads more like him wanting to play for Man City. There's no way he's in awe at the quality of our squad.

There's no indication we're interested in him? Also, he says he's in awe of a PL rivals signings? I'd suggest it's City, as they still need one more LB. rose fits the bill.

Doubt it. Why would he bother saying that, knowing they've signed Mendy?

Look where Rose was when he was the same age Shaw is now. He had hardly played any PL football and went out on loan to Sunderland.
Shaw still has time to develop if he can get over his injuries, he is a far superior player compared to a 22 year old Rose.

Fair point. I'd forgot about him. No way he's in awe of our squad though. That's utter nonsense.

He's clearly talking about us. City have already signed three fullbacks and we're most definitely in the market for a left back.

The End?
Doubt it'll be City. Even for City, spending around 180-200 mil on fullbacks alone would be sheer madness.

We have, on paper, great squad depth.
