Well I for one am delighted that Barca are spending the Neymar money on absolute shit.

Under a tree.
So, Spurs sell him at a 7m loss. Guangzhou sell for a 26m gain

Hes underrated, but its still a very weird transfer

Paulinho is now Barcelona's fourth most expensive signing, behind Suarez, Neymar, and Ibrahimovic.

He was pretty terrible at Spurs but I always felt he was a good player just not a good fit at Spurs or the Premiership. He was very highly rated in Brazil at the time.

Strange one. That being said they have been linked with him for a while haven't they.

Couldn't they have signed Seri for pretty much the same money (due to his release clause)? A vastly superior looking player who would fit in with Barca's style of play far better.

Baffling. By and large outside of the obvious-hit big money signings, Barca have bought poorly for years now.

wow, even a giant like Barca can make idiot decision.
They've been pretty good at making them these past two seasons. You'd be hard pressed to find a more stupid way to spend 40m. You'd have more chances to get it right if you take that money to Vegas.

Baffled by this transfer, especially at the price.

Why didn't Barca just go for Tielemens when Moanco went for him, even if they change their style of play he'd be a great asset. With the Herrera rumours it looked as though Valverde wanted a B2B and Tielemens could play that role and would chip in with goals also. I'm not complaining as it's evident Herrera isn't going anywhere as Paulinho will now play thay role, not that I thought Herrera would be moving.

I was reading the replies in spanish to the announcment and believe me when I say no one likes this signing. 40 millions for a 29 y.o. playing in China?! Bartomeu is walking on thin ice.
I kinda feel bad for the player, though. Gonna be a tough season if he doesn't deliver

Everyone seems to be judging him on what he did at Spurs. By that logic, Bayern should have never signed Jerome Boateng cause he stunk at City.

He's been more than solid on the International stage for Brazil. It's a decent signing for them. They need a CM and he'll fit in well.

Barcelona must have one of the worst transfer records over the last decade surely? If not for their cheat code they'd be well and truly up the shitter

If this is to go by Barca´s script he must be on double the wages of Isco... What a shady transfer to say the least.

What are Barca thinking? I know Neymar left a big gap but surely they have some La Masia talent who's equally as good as Paulinho without needing to spend £40 million? Incredible.

Bebinho would have been a better signing. Shocking stuff by Barca.

Think he will be really good at Barcelona; though by numbers they can still keep possession; they need a bit of bite and tenacity In that midfield.

It's time they grow out the glory era & try fix things that many other teams would do.

Weird transfer but good luck to him. He's been great for Brazil. Tite really saved his career.

Barca are turning into a strange club aren't they? Never liked them so it doesn't bother me but I can't imagine fans being happy. Beautiful city though:drool:

Anyone know how long till the next Barca presidential elections? Bartomeu's gonna get fecked big time if he doesn't turn the situation around.

As far as I'm concerned, Tite got him this transfer. When he was recalled, myself and other NT supporters was like wtf but he shut us up with his performances.

In saying that, he moved to Spurs during a WC year and it greatly affected his performance. Now, he has been brought for a lot of money and a fanbase that don't want him and again during a WC year. He risking his shot at the WC with this move.
