In please mate. I'm off all next week so I'll have plenty of time to get into this.

One thing I would say is, I'd do away with the power cards etc. If someone can find a top player that doesn't give the next manager great options that should be rewarded.

I don't think we have any drafters on here who would dileberately sabotage themselves just to screw with others.

We saw with the power cards in the monopoly draft that people were unwilling to play them unless they themselves were getting something out of it in the process.

I'm fine either way but I tend to agree with no cards/minimal cards. It'll probably be more fun if we end up accumulating a few lesser names or borderline sheep, rather than yet another GOAT-fest with an all-time pool.

Yeah exactly no point just allowing everyone to build perfect sides, but in a different way. May aswell make it challenging.

How is it different from the previous one?
In the previous one you pick player who played with your previous pick. In this one you pick player who has played with a player the previous manager picked. So if Manager before you picked Pele, you have to pick someone who has played with Pele.

Mmmmm... no point whatsoever to plan so not my cup of tea as far as the drafting challenge is concerned but should be a laugh.

Probably a good candidate for a vote by all managers rather than the whole match routine. We've had 200 variations on combining the exact same players in an XI.

We thought you wouldn't let an opportunity to screw others around go away.

Also agree with not having cards. Defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Not going around deliberately screwing others and my own team in the process but if someone can find top players while sending the next one into a challenge then that'll be fun.

Hopefully the fact you have to follow from the previous manager should lead to varied teams.

Just a suggestion, everyone should get to start once.
That's a good point actually. I assumed the chain would go around continuously, however that would give manager 1 and 16 a huge advantage as they are picking their 2nd player at the beginning of each round using a player they themselves have chosen.

Indeed, or if it goes round and round, then player 1 still gets a huge advantage.

Maybe we have to live with a 16 man squad.

The solution for this in that other forum was they had Round 1-6 going from top to bottom so basically 1-16, 1-16, etc and last 6 rounds opposite that is 16-1, 16-1 etc.

How about draft with conditional picks?

For example:
(1) First Pick should be from a club which has never won any international tournament(both club and country)
(2) Second Pick should be a player who has never had any Ballon Dor point.
(3) Third Pick should be a player who has featured in an world cup star team.
(4) Fourth pick be player from a club which started after 1900s.
(5) Fifth Pick should be a Asian Champions League winner.
(6) Sixth Pick should be a Copa Libertadores winner.

and so on. using which we can have a team consisting of star players and solid work horses, and avoid having all star teams.

That gives HUGE advantage to positions 1 & 16?

The first player would be picked randomly from a pool of players. For rest of the players we'll have round 1-6 from top to bottom so after the 16th player 1st player has to pick again and maintain chain with the 16th player. Similarly from 16-1 in last 6 rounds.

My big concern is that since there is more or less no way to leave your picks it might get really slow. Also I don't see any way we can leave a player and move on when somebody doesn't show up in time limit. Actually the whole time limit concept is kind of not applicable here.
