We have to replace Mkhi but with who? Mata? Will get overrun, can't hold the ball anyway.
Lingard? Not much quality on the ball but at least with movement might offer more.

    I'd go with Lingard.

Very poor all round. Only Young and Matic for me are standout players.
Midfield lacking quality, no service of any worth to the front players
Herrera sadly does not look Utd class any longer.
Mkhi? God knows what's up with him. He looks like he can't be bothered.

It probably can't be any worse than today, but with the 3 we'd basically be relying on them to pick it up and run with and create something out of nothing.

At least Mik has the potential to create
which is almost always unfulfilled in games like these. He is a luxury player we cant afford in tight games. Certainly not a can opener.

I think we are actually doing pretty well. Spurs are out playing us and pretty much took over after 12mins but we are really missing Pogba here. Just someone to get on the ball who can hold it, can beat someone with it and play a decent pass.

That Winks tho, I now see why Poch said he was his Iniesta. It’s just those swerves with the hips and how he loses people with just a movement. Still waiting to see if he can replicate the passing and just sheer brilliance of Iniesta tho

No he doesn't, wtf are you on about? He's a central CB, penetrative passes are not his responsibility. The other CBs are hoofing the ball, at least he's circulating.
No , he needs to build from the back that penetrative pass to matic and Herrera in space, when he has space.

Sideways is where there is highest pressure and there is no penetration with it. The more matic and Herrera get space and time on the ball when you beat high press the more chance we can create.

Very disappointed with this performance. We don’t look like Premier League winning material at all, yet again sadly.

You've just answered your own question and then insulted the concept of remembrance Sunday in one post. Well done.
No, I'm not insulting Remembrance Sunday. I'm insulting the way in which every club has to be seen to be marking an event, even when it's two weeks away. It just makes the event you're marking lose any meaning, when you're doing it to keep up appearances. Similar to the uproar when we didn't have poppies on our shirt a couple of years ago. Forget the fact that we decided to mark it in our own way. No, that's not good enough, we have to be seen to be doing it the right way. It's stupid.
Why bring the minute's silence forward two weeks just because we won't have a game at Old Trafford then. We'll still mark it in our way on the day.

It’s easily crap to admit it - but we are playing a better team and should count ourselves lucky that Kane is out - and that they have to field the poor Sissoko and Winks in midfield. At full-strength they would be difficult today. We are missing Pogba big-time, but I believe Dembele would have ruined his day in midfield.

There is a clear difference is their ability to be creative from the back, we clear the ball, they distribute it.

Yeah sorry, I just realised this. Nevertheless, I think that's the main reason why he hasn't started today.
I agree that he was terrible against Huddlesfield and kept giving the ball away but sometimes players do have stinkers. He did only play one half and the guy whose starting today is Mkhi who Martial has generally been better than (last game barring).

Horrible approach to playing the game. Draw them in, hoof over the top to the big man, play off breaks. No desire to take the game to Spurs, play any structured football.

Mkhi is a coward, i really really wish we sell him asap, players with less ability are showing the determination while this guy hides behind people. Really pissed off with him, we are playing with 10 men.

Delle ALI dive not even talked about where i am watching. English players really get it easy. Expect tottenham to win the game via a penalty of one of their players diving.

Without Pogba we have no midfield presence, no one who could control the game and no one who can do something special there. Its not mourinho's fault its just lack of genuine ability.

Martial for mkhi would be my change, jose will go for lingard as he scored in midweek. Unless we concede we will not change shape and take the draw.

Does Gary Neville rounding off his vocabulary whilst commenting on the game annoy the tits of any one else?
Listen to him with words ending in ing especially, he’s trying to talk proper instead of being natural! The sell out ha ha

and 50% of people wouldn't want Ozil for free :D:D Mhitaryan is absolutely shocking and had like 2 good games during his time at the club.
Ozil wouldn't solve any of our problems!
He's more or less the same like Mkhi - if he's on a run he can get 2-3 assists a week but most of the time he looks like a stranger on the pitch. Ozil had his prime with Mou at Madrid but nowadays he would cost a lot of wages for a few good performances a year.

Well, the excuse for the liverpool game and huddersfield defeat was that we were away from home. You certainly can't say that today.
I do agree, excluding the lack of ability (which is worrying), the lack of intensity is making it easier for opponents of late regardless of their form.

This brainless passing is carrying forward from lvg era.

Mourinho has done nothing to correct it. Wrong passing after wrong passing.

Again if Young is our best player (props to him), this is a huge concern. Our bes player cannot be a LB/LWB
Any outfield player can be the best even when the team is playing well. Valencia has achieved this a lot. Evra did several times in his prime. I see your point though, the rest need to step up.

Young has been fantastic. Such a passionate display. Fergie signing afterall. Poor apart from that. Can't bring the ball forward to Lukaku or Rashford at all. Hoofing it with poor long balls won't do anything. The few moments Lukaku gets to the ball he can't control it. Herrera and Mkhi poor with their passing. Rashford not doing much either.

    Indeed.
I think we are doing fine. The game is pretty balanced, with Spurs slightly better.
Reading this forum, you'd think we are losing 3-0.
    Slightly better?

They are showing us why Poch would be great for us after Jose's gone

Henrik is just not good enough.

If we're going to have a creative player wide right I'd rather it just be Mata every week.

    We really need Pogba back

We are playing okay, our two man midfield is vulnerable though cos our #10 is lightweight.

Mkhi just can't drop in and cover like we need. He hasn't got the presence. Plus his forward passing has been terrible.

I'd be tempted to go to a proper midfield three.

Started well, but just as I expected, Spurs' three in the middle have dominated our two.

Maybe take Mkhi off, and bring McTominay on, matching Spurs in the middle.

We're playing like the away side at the moment because we can't get control of the ball. Having three should give us more control, thrn we can have a better build up and provide better service to our strikers.

Id like to see Rom doing more running off the ball. Coming to the ball too much. Needs to make the pitch bigger.

Jose has to remember that he is managing at O.T and has to play with some bravery and show some football. Wtf was that first half? Un fecking believable!
Let's be fair. That had little to do with Jose. I like the team set up. I like the desire. The problem was ability, especially in the midfield. Miki and Herrera are offering little going forward. There is no creativity and passing ability in the middle of the pack. That's why Lukaku and Rashford are feeding on scraps.

No ball playing CB, the CMs have to drop deeper to get the ball and that is not helping. Mkhitaryan has been useless and the attack is isolated, having to feed off scraps.

We aren’t that bad. There’s a game of football, which is nice. But we aren’t that good. Again seems like there’s a bit of a lack of ability with the ball and everything is a bit aimless so far.

Overrun? Hold the ball? I don't think that's really it. Mata can create and inspire.
