F... off, Rafa, you and your "spending money". Jealous prick.
We all know what you like to do when you're given money, you fat shit:

1. Buy a burger
2. Try and sell Xabi Alonso to fund a purchase for Gareth Barry
3. Ryan Babel, Josemi, Nunez, Bellamy, Pennant, Kromkamp, Glen the son of John (Copyright P), Alberto Aquilani, Robbie Keane, Albert Riera, Dossena, Degen, Momo Sissoko, Squirtle, Voronin, Yossi Benayoun, El Zhar, Morientes

He's not to be trusted with money.

RaMaKu?

Back on topic. I think we're slowly getting back to our early season best, and its no surprise it coincides with the return of our talisman Pogba.

Pogba is very important to the team hope he stays forever.

Can Jose keep playing Lukaku, Rashford and Martial even against the top teams?

Poor first half. The goal from Martial came at a pivotal moment. Front 6 were class. Mario holding the line sweeping up, Pogba roaming creating havoc. Maya linking it all together. Pace and power of the front three.

Lukaku,Ibra and Lukaku looming like Attack On Titan at that Herrera cross at the end:lol:, if we could cross well consistently that would be an unbeatabe plan B when we get to hoofing, the press, Klopp and Pep would tear their hair out at the awesomeness
I heard an interesting stat today. United is joint best in the PL this season at scoring from crosses.

Sloppy opening but proud of the team for turning it around in the 1st half, that set us up nicely to kill them off in the 2nd half.
Pogba back with a great performance
Lukaku finding the net again was good to see and important.
Im very happy :D

Pogba is our best player, showed it once again.

Jose needs to build around Pogba, Rashford, Martial, and Lukaku. They should start most games, they all offer us pace, power and skill. They seem to have a very good understanding too.

Hard to not be worried about our defence though, Newcastle got close a few times.

I know all the compliments will go to Pogba and Zlatan. Deservedly so but goodness me, Nemanja Matic is such an incredible footballer. He is top class. His touches, passes, ball control, movement, and overall football brain is brilliant.

Easy to miss the fact that he's the one who makes Pogba tick and not the other way round and when Pogba ticks, this United team ticks.
Very good point. The difference in what Jose is able to get from Pogba from last season to this is significant, and Matic is the biggest reason why.

In a way that early goal helped us in the end.. Made us pick up the tempo and start attacking and not wait for it..

We were just motoring by the end of the half..

Read the matchday thread a little and Lindelof wasn't bad, even worse people were wanting him Substituted for Rojo.. Conveniently forgetting he's also coming back from an ACL injury and would be rusty as hell.. Can't expect him to jump straight to PL..

I'm really hoping he does this.

Did well to come back and win convincingly. Was back to the beginning of the season again in the second half and I liked the traditional 4-4-2.

It might be the way forward in these sort of games anyway, especially with the way we're creating a lot of our goals. Pogba showed how much and it was great to see Zlatan back.

What did he say?
something like: "They won because they spend ton of money, and they played better than us, because of the spent money, and they scored more because of the money they spend. I was hoping to go to HT with a draw, but didn't happen, because they spend lot of money. I like to spend money, but since I'm not manager at United, I can't spend. But, I will bitch and moan about United's money. Ooooh, I wish I can do that, you know, spending money"... (quietly talking to himself) "like they do..."

Hppefully Mou sees it the same way. You saw their understanding grow as the game went on and we got better and better. They just need a run of games together now

We hit a rough patch with two important players, Pogba and Fellaini, were out because of injuries and some people behaved like we were crap all season. If City keeps winning, then fair play to them, they deserve to be champions. But it doesn't mean we aren't doing well ourselves. Things are looking very good for us at the moment. All our key players are coming back just before the crucial busy period and I believe we have plenty of chances to catch up with them. Very proud of the team.

Young looked more of a liability at the back in the first half than Lindelof. Sure, Lindelof slipped, that happens, but Young isn't a full back. I like him, but we need a proper left back. Valencia, Young is not.

Great to have Paul back, we've missed his pace, power and creativity from midfield. Also good to see Martial and Rashers playing together!

And Zlatan :drool::drool: Cant wait for the busy christmas schedule when we get to see most of our squad in action (and yes, i cant wait for the january window either where we hopefully buy a fullback and maybe Griez )

Really enjoyed the game, even going 1-0 down as I knew we would recover, but it needed team to dig in and overcome.

The more the quartet of Martial, Lukaku, Rashford and Pogba play together the better our forward play would get. Just needs Jose to have that faith away from home and adopt the same formation. I can accept that sometimes it’s counter productive to be gung-ho but both Rashford and Martial understand the defensive side of things better now so I say let them loose!

Don't know about stats, but based on what my eyes see we've been largely shite at crosses for some seasons now

I was disappointed with Martial for the Pogba goal. He should have been sprinting. Rashford, was not in the same frame as Martial and far behind, yet he sprinted past him and put the header in for Pogba. Pogba was also behind Martial, yet he sprinted forward. Maybe it is these kinds of little things that upsets Jose.
I have to say in my opinion, Lindelof improved a lot during the course of the game. I think it is a confidence issue with him. It looks like he is a decent player and can play football.
Valencia disappointed me in that only twice did he kick the ball against the opposing player today.

Very good, and I will admit I was worried after half an hour.

Pogba had the same effect on me that he had on his debut against Southampton, the sort of midfield performance that makes you realise just how average we had become accustomed to in that position.. he needs to stay fit.

Even when we went behind today, I didn’t doubt us to turn it around. We feel comfortable at home and I would fancy us to beat anyone there. It’s away that there is a lack of confidence in being proactive and shaping the game to our liking.

I think Rafa's comment about the money was more towards his own board. What he said was that United spent a lot of money to buy quality players and when one on one situations happens the quality players are much better. So basically his players do not have the quality of the United players because United spent a lot of money to get those kinds of quality players.

First half hour was worrying. We looked too open, too slow and lacked any cohesion going forward. Fortunately Pogba produced a bit of magic with that trick and cross to bring us back into the game.

After that we were just awesome and carved them open time and time again. Pogba really does make a difference, that was a really good performance on his first game back. Great to see Zlatan back too.

Not a great start, but a good game overall. A welcome change to the team with both Martial and Rashford starting alongside Lukaku. Few changes I would like to see in the upcoming games. Rashford should be instructed to play on the right, he cannot continue to occupy space that Martial will need to run into. He needs to provide width and stay on the right. Mata does not need to be in the team, if Mkhitaryan is not up to it, I would rather play Lingard there for next few matches, or even Pogba. When Pogba is in the team, Matic needs to offer better protection to the back line than he offered today. Lastly, it looks like Smalling and Jones are still our best defenders even with all the other exotic defenders we signed. Bailly can possibly get there if he suddenly finds a brain from somewhere.

No way! Mata was our second best player today after Pogba. Just because he doesn’t get the stats (goals and assists) he’s so damn under rated! This front five should start most games!

On the basis of how often Newcastle opened our defence up and outnumbered us on the counter I'd suggest only at home against the bottom half.
