Hes a serious liability going forward, when we play him our attack is badly weakened. He was cheap but we should have bought someone better instead of him.

I think he needs to move back to Italy for himself. I get the feeling he's never really settled here and it's showing in his performances

Darmian must wake up every morning laughing his head off that Manchester United signed him.

Very disappointing performance. We need 2 proper full backs.

I remember after his first three or four games for us thinking yes, we finally got a long term Neville replacement (for the next 5-10 years).
Wow. He hasnt been the same since Sanchez destroyed him in that 3-0 game.

He helped us out last season, but he just isnt good enough imo. Even as a backup

He barely came out of his half in those first few games. New signings get an easy ride, as soon as the honeymoon was over it became very obvious he was not up to it.

How on earth is this guy still here?! Abysmal footballer

Nothing going forward and very average defensively.

Italians watch and pray he's not in the starting line up for the national team, you can see why.

How bad is this guy. He plays like there's a huge man eating t-rex across the half way line. Composure, crossing ability, simple passing and skill are all alien to him. What does he offer! There was a moment in the second half he charged forward and like a coward turned back to play the ball back to herrera for no reason what so ever who then lost the ball. Simply awful. The only positive thing I can say about him is he's quite good defensively at times. But apart from that, he's the first player I want us to get rid of.

Exactly, was massively overrated after a few decent games where the rest of the backline was great and he didn't have to do much. Woeful player.

It's demoralizing watching Darmian play, complete antithesis of what a United player should be.

I've long stopped expecting any attacking contribution from him but his defending is wank again. He has regressed from the last few weeks of last season when he was at least decent defensively.

We should sell him quickly to Italy and pack Blind on top of it whoever bites first. Both deserve to get sacked for this performance.

Probably the worst footballer to play football since Ali Dia.
Someone said this in the Daley Blind thread  Not sure if it was yourself. I know Blind was at fault for the goal but I actually thought Darmian was the worst player on the pitch, he gave away so many free kicks and just looked a complete liability. If I'm not mistaken he's 28, it's not as if he's some young player who's learning the ropes and will get better, I don't think he will. Don't really see much of a future for him at the club beyond next summer.

Blind would be amazing for juventus or napoli ie a team and a manager that can use technical players and can use a mix of strength and technicality in their team. Cough* unlike..

Yeah we should sack our players after a loss.
Yeah because that's i said that, odd. Don't even think anyone said we should sack him, would be pretty stupid when theres bound to be an Italian team who will pay us a few million Euros for him.

If there was ever a player who needed to be fired midway through pre season it's Duhmian. Quite possibly the most useless sack of shit I have ever seen play for United - he is the Taibi of full backs. Plays like he's still on life support and about to fall back into a coma.

Type of guy who would knock himself out with a punch when trying to kill a mosquito. He just offers nothing and it astonishes me how this useless prick has hoodwinked his way into being a fullback at United and even in Italian national team.

Done an ok job when he came in at the back end of last season, but yeah, he's fecking wank. He was massively overrated when he arrived and he's been horrendous during most of his tenure. I knew nothing about him before he arrived but some on here claimed we were getting a marauding fullback that was also an excellent defender! Wow, we certainly didn't get that. I'm aware he played as a wingback for Torino, but feck me, how did he manage to lose literally all of his so-called ability since he arrived here?

Perhaps the system at Torino helped him. I dont know, maybe he just had more space to work in or something.

I can't comment as I don't watch Serie A. But before we signed him, there were posters on here claiming they had watched a good bit of him and described him as good in both a defensive and offensive sense. We haven't seen any of that from him here, especially in the offensive sense.

Seeing him against Sweden in the first leg, he produced a few viable crosses into the box. When playing for us he can't seem to nick one proper cross in.
