Oh no.. was fearing the worst from the thread title. That sounds terrible.

Can we do some sort of campaign?
Don’t think many posters use Twitter tbh. An online petition would be a better bet - promoted through channels such as Twitter.
All for this.

RedCafe is United's largest online forum (by traffic at least) of which Sultan is an administrator, that surely holds some weight. It's not an insignificant chunk of the fan base.

You can do so with friends and family. It's well established that internet friends can be considered 'real' friends, so it shouldn't be a problem unless he's advertised it as available for loan on here.
No limit to how many different people or how many times a season? If not, its very harsh.

I'm a member not a ST holder, the last ticket allocation I got, by email, said 'random id checks will be carried out, as tickets are not transferable'. I took a nephew instead of a son, as it was bought on the son's membership card I just told him to say that name if asked.

Have you transferred them to a lot of people?
If yes then I can see the clubs point of view, You're either very generous or a tout.
There wouldn't be many like you amongst them all!

Appreciated your time and effort, Raees. I also know you're a lawyer if I need any advice. However, I don't really like publicity. I'm not sure I feel up to going back to Old Trafford at any time soon.
Doesn't need to be done publicly, just use the caf to get big numbers on the petition - less public and probably more effective than Twitter. We'll look at the correspondence you've had with them to date, look at the appeals process and get started on writing up some arguments etc. Doesn't necessarily have to be exhausting on your part, or cost-intensive, we are all here to help you out!

This is exactly what has likely happened. If tickets are exchanged too many times they get suspicious and tickets get banned. I don't even think this is about touting. This is done openly outside of the ground. I've heard of offices exist specialising in selling United tickets for profit.

I suspect the principle of tickets being not transferable is pretty sound legally. Train tickets aren't transferable or re-saleable, and I'm sure that will have been legally challenged many times. A refund would depend on the T&Cs I suppose, but I've never bought a season ticket so I don't know what they say.

Morally they're a bunch of cnuts of course. Best of luck.

You at least deserved a warning before it got to the stage it has. How long have you been a ST holder?

Well, the last person who I'd expect to have their season tickets confiscated would be Sultan. I'm shocked to see this. I honestly thought that ticket exchanges wouldn't be an issue at all. Isn't there an official platform over which you can transfer tickets without earning some money? If not, then Man. Utd. should look into making one of these.

I'm curious (and this is to all season ticket holders)... what are the policies if you legitimately can't get to a match?

The season is long, surely there must be some sort of transfer policy for this sort of thing.

Nearly 40 years. They also banned my parents tickets because they were linked to my account.

Basically, they're arguing I'm touting tickets because I have transferred tickets in other peoples names over the last few years. They can't believe I've done this mostly helping out fans mostly from abroad on this website. Not even refunding the cost of remaining games.
I can still go to games with tickets from friends, but I'm boycotting the club as a matter of principle. I'm not sure how long I'll keep my self from attending. If anything I've given away tickets for free to many fans.

Oh, well!

This is a total sham and based on a total misunderstanding on the clubs part. I’m sure many of us who have benefitted from your kindness over the years would contact the club to explain on your behalf.

To whom should I write to verified your many acts of kindness?

Fight it. I’ve had help attending a game thanks to you, and given the fact the club sells so many single tickets before the season even starts, there are actual touts they could punish.

But knowing the way united run nowadays, they probably get a commission or something!

Don't have the energy, Varun.

It seems they're not a caring club anymore. It's all about numbers. They're certainly a few grand richer with the banning of our families 3 tickets. They will now pass onto other members. They were prime seats.
We’ll use our collective energy to supplement then. Just tell us all what to do

This is the kind of crap that makes me more and more distant from not only football but every sport. No matter what team it is, every one of them reach this stage and start treating us as "customers" instead of "supporters".

Whatever. If competitive sport is heading in this direction, I may as well spend my money elsewhere rather than on them.

Can't work out what you're meant to have done wrong @Sultan. I hope the club sees how harsh its been and reverses its decision.

Ridiculous, do let us know if there's any way in which we could help (petition etc). Hope you get your tickets back.

What the club have done is absolutely ridiculous. I'd be happy to help you out in any way possible (even if we're separated by a large ocean).

I've emailed the link I've posted earlier Sults, in a polite manner.

I suggest if anyone does email they are also polite and respectful of the club, stupid though they may be in this instance.

A social media storm with some one from fans' groups meeting the ticket office should be able to sort this out. But in any case expecting ST holders not to occasionally give their tickets to someone else is stupid.

I've had seat checks a number of times and been caught with others using tickets. The principle is they allow transfer of tickets to friends and family. Not complete strangers of the internet.

They also have concern with security issues when passed onto strangers even though I've never sold a ticket for profit. In a way I understand.
What should we explain? Some thing like:

‘I have sat in these seats before, when poster known as sultan, gifted me the ticket, so I could fulfill my desire to watch my beloved club in person’.

Or words to that effect?
Short and sweet.

Do you mind deleting that post.. think we should avoid any references to payments received or not etc

I remember you facing this problem a few years ago when you sorted me a ticket. You said it got resolved and they apologised. Any idea what's changed since then? Did they give you any warning before the banning?

Mm can see their point of view tbh but you're going to have to try and argue they're not complete strangers to you. And they're your e-friends.

I'm not sure I want to go back. Over the last few years, it's been a drag. It was mostly spending time with family made it worthwhile going. Sky and BT will suffice to watch our team.

Yeah I get it, in principle. Your ticket could have been used by someone dangerous. At the same time, there are people on the turnstiles and they got the enhanced checks they brought in this season too. You're not profiting in any way. It seems harsh.

These days they have concern with security issues when passed onto strangers even if we're no touts. In a way I understand.
