Seems like we will be buying in January. Let's assume we're going to get one absolutely top class player in and wait until the summer to the rest of our business. What position would you want a player for?

A central midfielder (hopefully Goreztka) so we can move Pogba into the #10 position. Playing Pogba in midfield with Matic leaves our midfield very exposed and a lot of team our down our throats as soon as they get the ball.

Right winger. We desperately need more width on the right and Valencia offers no attacking threat whatsoever.

LB next but Young is doing well enough to take us to the summer.

Right winger, our attack has no balance or width without one.

Can’t see why you would want Pogba as a classic enganche/trequartista 10. He’s at his best when moving through midfield.

Playing him as the more attacking midfielder, or midfielder with most the most freedom, in a midfield three is a different matter though.

Voted for CM. Would think we need another midfielder, a right winger and a left back. If we factor in that most top level players are already cup-tied for the CL the priorities change for January.

I think we can deal with the left back position with what we have till the end of the season, though of course it would be great to make a top class signing in January. Same with right wing. But if we get an injury to Matic or Pogba we are screwed.

Im not 100% up to speed on what top players are 'available' in January but position-wise i'd say we need a wide player on the right (not really sure who) or a LB (Alex Sandro for example) but muppet-wise i really want Griezmann in a red shirt. Really like him!

Our defence is fine, left back nothing special but generally fine as unit. We lack ib midfield when pogbas out but he should be available for the most part after missing a gopd chunk already. What we need is to bolster our attack, specifically the right wing. Look At how city improved their attack and now they constantly have options. We don't even have anyone reliable to play on the right wing most of the time. Get a big signing there with big potential (Malcolm, gelson martins) and we'll be set IMO.

Right winger, a strong midfielder so we don’t capitulate whenever Pogba’s out. Would’ve said left back before Young’s recent amazing form, but we might be okay there this season.

I'd take another MF, a #10, and a RW. All 3 positions we need to solidify.

I'd like us to test Dortmund for Pulisic.
Not sure about Ozil but it's up to Jose not supporters.
What MF's are better than what we have and would be obtainable in January?

It's LB or CM. LB is the weakest position on the roster and our lack of quality depth in midfield has been felt all season. I'd like to sign Rose in January. Pogba is a terrific player, but the drop off in team performance when he's been out is unacceptable.

RW is also a need, but it's not as critical to me. Jose doesn't want to play with a full attacking lineup, so one of the wingers is going to be more defensive in nature. We've seen this most of the season with his reluctance to play both Marital and Rashford together. Although if there was any kind of realistic chance to sign say an Alexis Sanchez, I'd be all for that.

RW, just about. Followed closely by CM (we are far too vulnerable to injuries to Pogba and Matic!), #10, LB.

Pogba would be wasted as a #10. He is great at what he does from a relatively deeper midfield role, he carries the ball really well into the attacking third and he has an eye for passes from the deep, not to mention he can use his physicality very effectively to dominate the center of the field. We need a #10 who will take over some of the playmaking responsibility from Pogs, someone who can create scoring chances like he does, but on a more regular basis. Mkhi was supposed to be our assist machine, but he has really faltered, unfortunately. Someone like Eriksen, KdB, or peak Ozil is what we need in that position, and there aren't many realistic options available.

Has to be CM. When Pogba's not playing, we look so much worse. I know a RW would be nice but it's midfield where we're short of quantity and quality.

Voting right-wing, but think LB is just as important from the summer.

I would say a RW followed by a number 10. Nether Mata or Miki look brilliant playing off the flanks

It's not often a player of real quality becomes available in January. We do need to strengthen certain areas like the right hand side, a no 10, quality cover for Pogba to name some but i'd rather wait until summer if it means bringing the right personnel in.

Went for RW because even though I think 10, LB and backup CM are important, they can be temporarily filled whereas we just don't have a right winger.

January signings should only be for game changers no matter the position. Sanchez would take us to another level. Griezmann the same.

Between RW and CM. Id be tempted to say CM as we do struggle with Pogba out. He makes a huge difference. (but it all depends if anybody is available in Jan).
RW would seem more possible though.

RW is absolutely essential. Contrary to majority's opinion, I think Valencia is useless going forward.

If Shaw gets more chances and continues to play like he did last night I would consider giving him an extended run for the remainder of the season moving young to the right , he's proven himself to be a quality wing back and he gets forward , can cross a ball far better than Valencia and provides much more of a goal threat .
And then I would look for a top class number 10 or attacking , creative CM as it is obvious that we must have like for like (ish) cover for Pogba in case of extended injury or suspension
