Thank God Liverpool keep naming their strike force, every time they do they almost immediately lose someone. SAS, Fab 4, Thrilling Threesome next with Mane leaving to Bayern anyone?

Barcelona has just spent 248m on 2 players though. They used that Neymar money well!
To be honest, Dembele and Countiho - I'm not sure what else they could have realistically done given the current market climate. In Dembele they've got a future star, and in Coutinho they've got a ready made one who can play pretty much anywhere in attacking setup before Iniesta makes way for him in a more central position.

Sky just whacking 3m more on as they love to do. He'll be going for 200m tomorrow.

142m for coutinho, that is a lot. Thank you PSG for inflating the market like this. They should be suspended from buying any more players. They have made a mockery of the market which has been impacted forever. Jokers.

I'm not blaming them. They did a good business with the money they got from Neymar's deal.

Messi
Ronaldo
Neymar
Lewandowski
KDB
Hazard
Dybala
Griezmann
Kane

Then there is Suarez, Isco, Kroos, Modric, Salah, James, Muller, Thiago Alcantara, Bale, Cavani, Di Maria, Aguero, Veratti, Mbappe, Pastore, Sterling at the moment,

The 8 listed at the top are all better, then take your pick of the rest of the ones listed and Coutinho does not become top 10 in the world at all. I didn’t name defenders or GK cos cant compare them positions.
Pastore? Pool coupd probably get him for 30M.... so if you are right, they get a better player and bank 100M?

€160m for Coutinho is absolutely insane. very good player, but not 160m great.
The world's gone mad. Very good player but this is absolutely ridiculous. If he's worth that, then what are Messi and Ronaldo worth in this market?

Could Coutinho not wait till the summer? Liverpool are still in the CL and top 4 race.

Weird transfer for Barcelona. They surely have an insurmountable lead in the league and can't play Coutinho in the UCL.
I'd argue the opposite. It's a great time to sign him from their point of view. A six-month integration period as opposed to a six-week one after the World Cup. They also have the luxury of playing Coutinho in all La Liga and domestic competitions when they can rest other first-trainers for Champions League commitments. It's a great decision from them.

Liverpool, on the other hand... Oh, dear. Absolutely crazy stuff selling their best player mid-season. Klopp has his work cut out to rally the troops now. They looked so average without Coutinho (and Salah) last night.

Yep because a top 4 race sounds much more appealing than actually winning a league. That's what I f*king hate about football nowadays. I hate all this top 4 nonsense. You either win the league or you dont

How will Pool line up now... Henderson, Can, Lallana. Wonderfully average.
We achieved top four with a midfield like that last season. It damages us losing Coutinho but it’s not as bad as when we lost Suarez.

He was good for them. Inter still sold him after having improved in Spain on loan
Yes, I was just looking for some inconvenient in his past, hehe.
Very good addition for the attack, meanwhile we still don't move in the market.
I wonder if they still will go for Griezmann in the summer

With that money Liverpool will probably be more of a threat than with just Coutinho

They can just spread that money out on 3-4 positions and be a much stronger team
Haven't they already used most of that money by signing VVD and keita?

Totally agreed - was caught up in a discussion regarding the race for 2nd the other day. There is no race for second.

Coutinho must be desperate after Barcelona if he is willing to give up UCL football just to get there. I still have my doubts that this transfer will happen this winter.

So, Lemar or Mahrez to replace him? Don't think your attack will lose much, tbh.

My god. The Neymar sale has really revolutionized the way football is going. Now I wonder how are they going to fit Griezmann into all this next season. Could they sell Suarez?

Definitely a bubble market

It's also being reported that the player gave up 15 million from his end towards reducing the overall transfer fee
Which barca promised to give back on his first renewal. Even then, if the summer figures of €20m/year for 5 years were true, he's giving up €3m/year. Still twice as much as he's currently making at liverpool

Fantastic news - this will severely weaken Liverpool irrespective of what they do with the money (although my view is a lot was spent of Keita/VVD).

He's the only player they have that turns draws and losses into wins and really makes them tick. Mane/Salah/Firmino are good attackers and combined with a player like Coutinho they sometimes look like world beaters. But taking Coutinho out of Liverpool would be in my view like taking Pogba out of United.

Another trophyless season, battle for top 4 and rebuild job in the Summer for them now in my view.

Yeah, he's not the first Barcelona player to do similar

One of them maybe, but I don’t think it’s Mahrez.
Surely Mahrez won't cost £80-90m like Lemar. I'd rather have Mahrez, tbh.
